Scary Movies and Portals

The autumn dorm was home to artistic enthusiasts and talented persons. Each person had their own particular skill, some in music, some in paints, and some in cinematography.
But there were no movies.
Ru had not watched a movie in a while. The girl was excited to discover one located somewhere in the dorms. Perhaps some cinephile would have a few sitting under the television! However, as she checked, dressed in pajamas and prepared to spend the late night on the couch, she discovered that there was none. Ru was let down, out of plans for the evening, as pitiful as it seemed. It was eleven at night anyway; the moon was high on that warm, summer night. She was planning on heading to sleep, until she developed an ingenious plan.
And so, Ru appeared in the school lounge that night, having coaxed the guards into letting her in. It was the weekend after all, and so it was not too difficult to achieve. The girl found success in her venture; a pile of movies lay in the drawers below the television. An assortment of different genres lay before her, and it was a pain to choose one.

Emelia was admittedly a movie freak. She didn't really have much to do on a Saturday night except for watching movies. And up until a few years ago, she was blessed with the company of her brother to watch movies with. That wasn't the case anymore. Still, there was a certain appeal to watching a movie alone. You could react however you saw fit, and there was no useless need to comment on the film at hand.

So she had gotten into her favorite pajamas (i.e. a grey tank top and plaid cotton pants. Not cute, but she was prepared for some serious movie watching) and then practically snuck into the lounge. She paused when she saw someone seated before the movie selection. She considered leaving, but dangit, she was on a mission. She walked over to the girl and leaned over beside her, examining the movies scattered on the ground. Her sienna hair fell over her shoulders, and she tucked some behind her ear. "I recommend that one." She said, pointed down to the case with swirling fog, and a creepy... thing, crawling out of it. She had always been a fan of horror films.

Verona had a long and generally awful first day back from her vacations. Despite having only been gone for nearly one or two weeks, she had missed what seemed like everything. Needless to say, she needed to let of some steam. Unfortunately for the brunette, Beata didn't have many options. Especially since it was already fairly late.
So the Autumn derived a plan, while it was an extraordinarily plain idea, it offered a release to her morning tension. It was due to this, that Verona found herself arriving in the Lounge clad in a pink nightgown covered with a soft yellow robe. Only, it seemed that Verona wasn't the only one who had this idea. In fact, as soon as she opened the door to enter the lounge, Verona recognized the two other girls who had also dressed in their pajamas.

"It's okay I guess," Verona mused, joining the females by their spot near the telly. "That is, if you like that kind of stuff."
Personally Verona was a sappy, romantic comedy girl herself, but she wasn't one of those people to typically get scared by horror films. Or at least, that's what she'd lead you to believe.

There were suddenly people there. Ru realized it was the lounge, but found it surprising that she'd find two girls there at 11 at night. She recognized one; yes, that was the Verona chick that haggled her about her boyfriend! They had left on better terms than they had started with, but the awkward moment was still engraved in her mind. The other was Australian, evident by the accent, one that was slightly jaded from living in America. The movie that she was pointing to was one of horror, clear from the scary movie cover that advertised its genre. Ru liked it. Despite Verona's testimony, the girl picked up the movie, reading the synopsis on the back. "This looks nice. Thanks." she said to the Australian behind her as she read. Then, she realized why they were there, and determined to not appear rude, she asked the girls, "Would you like to watch it with me?"

Having been focused Ru and the movie she was looking at, she only noticed they weren't alone once the other girl spoke. She looked up while narrowing her eyes in thought as she worked to remember where she had seen her before. Finally something clicked, and she was automatically smiling again. "Hey, you're Verona, right?" She didn't really need an answer as she was sure of it, but she asked nonetheless.

With or without a reply, she turned to the short haired girl. "No problem. I haven't seen it, but I've heard very good things about it." At the her request, Em's smile grew even wider. (If possible.) "Sure! That's actually why I was here, to watch a movie." Even better if she could make some friends in the process.
