Lilith [OPEN]

Jason was starving, as best as he tried to not make a big deal of anything, had been waiting eagerly for his food the entire time. As soon as he finished splitting the meal into reasonable sizes, the young man went to town. The moment the waitress returned with his date's cake pop, half of the sandwich was practically gone already. "Can I take your word on that? I'm not so sure." He teased. The Autumn's gaze fell to the treat in her hands. "Do I get a taste at least?"

The cafe was getting extremely packed now, he noticed, every booth and seat being filled to the brim with love-sick couples. A pair nearby, he noticed, had brought with them a huge bouquet of roses. A part of him felt guilty for not bringing Eve any then, like he'd seriously messed up somehow, but he did his best to shrug the troublesome feeling away.

Evelyn twirled it again, her gaze drifting over her half of the sandwich. Did she have to eat that? Her stomach roiled as her memories drifted back to fish sticks at Glacier, but she quickly put those thoughts out of her mind. The Cafe was quickly filling up, much too busy and loud for her. She could see lovesick couples everywhere she looked, and those cliche milkshakes, flowers, and candygrams were on nearly every table. It looked like everybody had somebody.

Oh well. At least she was here, with him. "Just a b-bite," she replied. "B-be t-t-thankful."

His gaze continued to wander for a few moments longer, resting momentarily on several different tables. There was an eldery couple teasing eachother not a few seats down, an almost miserable looking guy picking at his meal while his girlfriend - or that's what it looked like - chatted up a storm, and only one real group of friends that he could see.
His gaze drifted back to Evelyn as she agreed a bit grudgingly to share her treat with him. He smiled, "I guess I should be, Snowflake." And, for a bit, his fingers grazed over hers as he held it steady; leaning forward and stealing a small bite for himself. It seemed sweeter than usual.

Jason moved towards the cheesy milkshake next, pinching the closest straw to him with his fingers. "You think you could share this with me too?" He asked with a small, crooked grin.

It was pretty sweet, wasn't it? She wondered if they looked as cheesy as the other couples in the cafe. Evelyn smiled, pinks tinged with red, taking a small bite after he did.

Her grin widened as he grabbed at the straw. Of course. How couldn't she? It wasn't every day someone like her got a chance to do something like this. "Hmm." You know, it almost made her feel a little nervous... but maybe those were just the butterflies. Evelyn leaned in, pinching at her own straw. "S-sure, t-this once."

Alright, fuck it all~. He was going to go all out on this cheesy ass moment. If that's what would make her happy, then so be it. It was with an intense amount of silly determination that Jace's fingers fumbled around a bit for a better grip on his straw, leaning in closer to the drink. The sappiness of it all was no trouble for him. (He'd done far worse things for a girl's approval.) The problem was - well... even looking at her so closely in the first place. Maybe it was it was because what they were doing, or the time of day, or because the place was so damned loud and distracting at that point, but he'd found his face staring down at the table at first before he realized it.

Pain stabbed at his temple again and he held back a sigh, taking a deep, silent breath in and forcing a smile. "How very kind of you." He muttered, chuckling a bit and taking a few sips of the sweet milkshake treat. He managed to stare into her hazy violet eyes, even if only for a few moments, before pulling back again and running a few fingers through his hair.

Maybe she wasn't as prepared for this as she thought she was.

Evelyn leaned in when Jace did, wrapping her lips around the straw and sipping. It wasn't a bad milkshake, but she hardly even tasted it. All her attention was on him, focused on those warm golden eyes of his. She followed his lead, smiling and chuckling when they pulled back. "J-just d-d-don't get g-g-greedy."

Jason couldn't help but laugh a little with her, shooting a small glance back her way and catching the smile on her face. She really did have no idea how cute she really was, did she? He went for another sip of his tea, hoping it'd calm his head a bit. To see her happy like that though, it made just about everything worth wild. "I can't make any promises like that." Jace mused slyly, taking another warm drink.

He set his drink down thoughtfully, stirring a bit more honey into his tea for some time, simply trying to think of the right words to say. "Eve, you gonna touch your sandwich?" He asked at first jokingly, taking in more of his tea before going on. "And... You won't need to run back to your room for anything tonight, will you?"

It was all smiles until he said that. She choked on her tea just as she was bringing it to her lips and slammed the cup down a little too hard. "Um... o-o-of c-course..." Evelyn forced a squeamish grin and moved to pick up her sandwich. Seriously...? Maybe it'd be a good idea to just tell him...

...or not. She could tell him later. The Winter leaned in, took a small nibble of bread, careful to avoid the turkey, and set it back down onto her plate. "And n-no, I d-don't th-think so..."

The young man finished the last of his own cup, setting it down nimbly just as his date practically slammed her own glass down far more uneasily. He raised an eyebrow at her uneasy smile as she picked at her food. Maybe she was feeling a little sick, or something? In any case, it didn't matter to him much. It was still free food at the end of the day. He shoved those thoughts aside easily. There were far better things to think about.
"Great." He flagged down the waitress, asking for a few boxes to stash their food and treats in - and a few more cake pops, while she was at it. "I've got a surprise for you, then." With a cheeky smile, Jason sipped a bit more of their milkshake.

"A... s-surprise?" Evelyn answered, giving the waitress a small nod as she boxed her mostly-untouched turkey sandwich. Her mother taught her never to waste food, but... well, mom wasn't hovering over her anymore, and there was no way she'd touch that turkey. She didn't know if she should be suspicious of that smile. "W-what kind of s-surprise?"

Jason nodding, his eyes gleaming in practical excitement. He'd already set up everything in the surprise a few days prior - or, most everything, that was... Everything that was probably important. He helped stuff the rest of his food and treats in the bag. "The kind you'll like, hopefully." He answered back teasingly, pulling out a few bills and tossi.g it on the table. He stood up, grabbed their little bag and offered her hand. "It's too big to cover in wrapping paper."

"R-really...?" Evelyn stumbled, standing up after daintily taking his hand. Too big for wrapping paper? She unconsciously grabbed at the snowflake pendant hanging around her neck. He really knew how to spoil a girl, didn't he? The Winter racked her brain trying to think of all the possibilities, but once again, she was stumped. Between reservations, train tickets, her necklace, and everything else, it made her feel almost embarrassed thinking about how much money he must have spent on her already. She wasn't used to that kind of treatment.

...But guilt aside, it still felt oddly nice. "Um... a-are we... g-g-going s-somewhere...?"

The Autumn nodded again, squeezing closer to Evelyn as the waitress tried to squeeze pass them back down the tightly packed isle. He was absolutely positive that she would love it. It wasn't exactly his most exciting or extravagant gift to her, but he'd slowly picked up overtime that bigger wasn't always necessarily better with the girl. In most cases. /bricked. It did, however, throw him off quite some when she'd questioned if they were going some place in particular. His mind jumped to the worst conclusion that she'd somehow figured his little plan out, and the questions rushed through all at once; how did she know? did she see him? or catch on ever? It seemed a lot easier for her to sneak up on him more often than not, rather than the other way around.

Still, on the chance that it was just a lucky guess, he tried not to give much away at that moment. "Yeah, you don't wanna stay here all day, do you?" Jace answered back teasingly. By the time they stepped outside the cafe, though, he realized there wasn't going to be much point in trying to hide it; unless he blinded folded her. (On Rosebury's roads, probably not a good idea.) The place they were headed too was the same distance from school, but in the opposite direction. "Guess I can't exactly fool a Winter though." He laughed a little to himself, glancing down the road the other way and starting to walk down. "Come on, Snowflake. It's not too far."

It really had just been a guess, muttered without really thinking. He had asked her if she'd have to run back to her room for anything, and there wasn't any rush to head back to the school. But she'd just been thinking somewhere like the lake, or Diane's Hill, or even the arcade. She just nodded blankly, still trying her hardest to think about what this surprise could possibly be. Evelyn blinked as they stepped out of the cafe and into the street.

...Fool a Winter? Had she been on the mark somehow? D8 Before she knew it, they were heading in the opposite direction of the school, deeper into town. "O-o-okay..."

Jason simply smiled down at the Winter for a moment before walking on, keeping his eyes gliding on the rode for most of the time. For once, he didn't talk all to much, mostly because if he was afraid that if he started trying to throw a chat together, he might accidentally give something away. Eventually, in the quiet, cloudy evening, they'd passed the path to Diane's Hill, and the arcade, the old convenience store - and most every other part in town. The only thing left to go on was a road that led to the opposite end of the lake, where it stretched out in more of a river-like manner.

They didn't stay long for that path, though, bridging off instead unto a dirt road. And other, and then another... It proved to be a bit of a winding maze then, complete with a small scenic hike of Rosebury's back yard. "Almost there." Jason had muttered. Soon enough, they were walking through a thin fence, nimbly protecting a large two story-house.

It was an older thing, made to resemble something like a cabin, surrounded by tall trees and having a decent view of the lake. There weren't many things out in the yard, or cars, nothing to suggest that anyone really lived there, and yet Jason pulled a few keys out of his pocket. "Home Sweet Home." He half-sang with a smile.
