Don't Blink [The Third Egg]

Well, it'd be years before Keirsta thought that she would find herself in the Spring dorms. Shaking the thought from her mind, the focused upon what was at hand. Rumors of a bright red egg hiding within the Spring halls spread like wildfire, and she'd take the opportunity and take it for hers. Walking down the hallway, the girl was in different clothing then her uniform. That of combat, it was much easier to move in. She also held a light blue sword in her right hand, just in case.

Walking down the hallway, the girl kept her gaze upon the dorm hallway. She wanted the egg in her hands, all of her own. Replicating copies of her sword using her gift, they surrounded her as a defense as she looked around. It was empty, and that was good.

There. The way it was positioned affected the color of the light streaming down into the hallway, and she was quick to go and grab it.

Oh wait, no. That wasn't the story. As soon as she had grabbed it, a dark shadow had come by and hit her. Literally. A red mark upon her neck was quickly visible, and she was quick to get enraged. What the hell? Her mind started racing as she looked around, readying herself. "Show yourself!" She yelled. Again, she was hit. Eventually realizing she just had to run, her feet took off.

But soon, she had been knocked down. There it was again! Looking around, she'd been able to pin-point the silhouette. Firing her make-shift swords, each one of them seemed to miss... All but one. It was surrounded in shadow though, morphed. Clutching the egg under one arm though, she looked and sighed. Shit.

The next moment, the figure was gone.

Or at least it seemed that way. Not a second later, there was another hard jab at the small of Keirsta's back, enough to send her sprawling to the floor. The figure stood there in the shadows of the lights along the wall, face obscured by darkness.

It didn't seem to like the light.

Suddenly, she felt the jab at her back. In which, her back bent.. backwards, and she did end up falling. "W-What the hell?!?" She seemed to shout, the egg falling a few paces ahead of her. Getting up quick enough to grab it back, she took note to its movement pattern. It seemed to attack, while she was between each light. Looking outside, a sigh escaped from her lips as she realized that the sun was still out. Well, here went nothing.

Closing her eyes for a moment, another jab at her body only made her furious. You know what, fuck this. This is just horseplay. She thought bitterly, picking up her sword once more and placing it in its hilt. As much as it was heavy, she was still able to maneuver at her own speed. "Catch me, if you can~" She taunted, before bolting off. Even if the moon wasn't as close as she had liked, she used just about all of her willpower to create a bit of a glow around her. Not blinding, and surely not eye-hurting, but just enough to where it created light.

Honestly, she hoped to god someoneone would show up. She wanted more of a challege then just this shadow figure... It was near impossible to land a hit, despite how close it was to how her gift worked. Surely, he was either immune to her attacks, or she was just failing miserably. Firing a few darts in the direction the figure had last been though, her legs still carried her towards the offices of the adults. Her sword was ready to be drawn if she needed to, and that'd be only if she decided not to use her gift to knock out a few people.

The figure seemed to morph and phase through her attacks, shifting its body to dodge and duck. Bloodless holes formed in its chest where the darts had been aimed, but they regenerated before you could blink. It teleported after her, from shadow to shadow, closer and closer.

A silver glow encased the girl. The figure stopped chasing, just for a moment, as she neared the end of the residence hall.

That's when the lights went out. To be more accurate, the lightbulbs exploded into shards of glass, sinking the hall into a pitch black, inky darkness. Her moonlight was the only glow in the room.

Something seemed to whisper in her mind... or maybe he was standing right beside her, talking into her ear.

The red egg seemed to shimmer as bright as fire in the weak silver light.

When the lights had gone black, that was when she panicked. "OH SHOOT!" She seemed to scream, but all the while it seemed to be eerily... Quiet. Trying to keep her cool, the fact that the figure seemed to whisper in her ear sent a sliver of chills down her spine. It wasn't the nicest feeling in the world, but she had to keep going. As much as the voice sounded disoriented, she understood it perfectly. Don't run, Keirsta. The hell did it mean by that?!?

Honestly, at this point she thought this was all tampering with her mind. "You're causing nothing but trouble... I'll deal with you later." She growled bitterly, before once more taking off. This time, a shield was put up around her... One that used all of her power that she'd accumulated. She needed to shut this thing out, it was clear no one would be able to dispose of it. Constantly, she'd fire arrows, but that wasn't something she'd decide to do.

She once more took to bolting, she was right at the door, when...Yes! She'd gotten out! The elevator had opened in time, and she jabbed constantly at the buttons to take her down... And they were.

She still had the egg in her arm, and hoped to god she'd be able to keep it.
