Say a Prayer [The Sixth Egg]

The mantis let out a sudden blood-curdling screech as the girl assaulted it from behind, and it whirled around, skittering over the bricks and shrubs, desperately slashing at the air with those scythe-like forelegs. One wild cut swept through a tree as easy as paper, and its green budding crown went toppling into the walkway. You didn't dare try and think about what a slash like that could do to a human body.

Greenish-blue fluid now spraying out where it had been stabbed, the mantis began to buck, almost like a bull, trying to shake its attacker off. s-senpai no!! ;~;

The giant mantis circled around once it was free, screeching again. That really was a horrible sound. Its pinpoint black pupils fixed on the girl with the spear, and as she raced forward, it gave a great slash of its arms. Too high; its blade sailed over her head as she twisted around and around, landing a flurry of shallow cuts against its natural armor. Blue-green blood, or whatever that was, began to flow from a dozen new wounds.

One hit against the girl would mean a certain kill, but she seemed to dance away from every slash, just out of range of its arms. Its antennae flickered, and the mantis brought a scythe down in a downward slice.

The sure-to-kill chop only manged to stab itself into the ground, burying into the brick walkway. The mantis, just for a moment, was left wide open and vulnerable.

Milah had been watching from the distance, she had heard rumors about a giant bug so she figured no one would go near it. Everyone she had met seemed to hate bugs afterall, so Milah figured the egg would be easy to capture. Although she had arrived a little too late someone was already fighting the giant pest though the battle seemed to be close to ending. It seemed obvious who was winning it was the mysterious girl, but that hardly mattered all Milah needed was that egg, and nothing was going to stop her from getting it.

As far as she knew she was the only one who had brought back an egg. According too the lady in the head-masters office at least, whoever she was. The winters attention drew too a fountian, at least the battle favored in her advantage. As she saw the girl aiming for the kill, Milah knew it was the perfect time too appear from the shadows and attack. She quickly walked forwards stopping right where the other girl could see her just perfectly fine, a grin on her face. She said no words, only smiled although her pinky finger gave a small twitch. Within the next moments, the water-fountian exploded, a brutal force of water headed directly towards the direction of the other girl. With this attack it would surely knock her out cold.

Milah was a bit shocked when the girl didn't pass out but instead she ran off for cover of the bushes. Although hiding wouldn't get her out of this situation, no.. water traveled every-where and anywhere. And thanks too the fountian, in the courtyard Milah had felt as strong as ever. "You cant really run from water." The winter called out towards her, with a twitch of her hand a massive powerful wave had scattered throughout the court-yard. Moving past Milah harmlessly as it was set out too get the other girl only. The giant wave had pushed the girl back a few feet - not drowning her. At least not yet.

Now that there was no creature to be worried about, Milah can get her one goal. The easter egg, although one thing did stand in the way - the other girl. Though Milah had little worries elemental powers were some of the most powerful, she doubted the other girl can be a match. With quick movements Milah started sprinting towards the shrub where the Mantis egg was cleverly hidden. Her gaze snapped back towards the other girl for a second, a thought coming too her mind. "Why don't you stay put for awhile?" She had called out playfully, the water quickly transforming into thin ice and heading towards her direction.

The red-headed boy found himself at the scene just in time. That damn girl is trying to steal another one! He wanted to rush in, but that demon battle had left him feeling sore. If i just try taking it, she might get me, but if i don't try, she'll get that egg again. Finally setting himself on a decision, he pointed his hand at Milah, and raised the gravity around her, while rushing towards her. The dragon had no place in this fight, and if needed, he'd kill it like the demon.

Lightning slashed out in a whip, cracking just above the boy's head as Juliette fled the scene.

It was a girl drenched in lake water and bluish-green Leviathan blood, electricity crackling in the palm of her left hand. Her right arm was resting in a sling.

"What, you already killed it?"

The mantis laid dead in a pool bluish-green goo, its mandibles still parted. A dragon circled high above them, like a buzzard, but it didn't look like it was coming down any time soon. Kayla didn't pay it any mind.

Her face twisted into an irritated frown. "So what the hell am I supposed to do with you two?"

Milah fell to the ground, crushed under his gift. There was so much he wanted to say about this, but he needed to hurry and get the rest of the eggs. Slowly, he bent down to pick up the egg. Before he could even lay a finger on it, a loud crack erupted right above him. "What the?" he trailed off as he turned around to meet a brown-haired girl. She didn't look too menacing, but looks weren't the best thing to judge people on. "I was kind of hoping to fight it too." His body tensed, waiting for some sort of move from the girl. She wouldn't be talking like this if she wasn't confident she would win. "Well I don't know, but this egg is mine."

She could see it now — a plain white egg striped in yellow. Kayla had already gone through enough shit for just one of the stupid things, but she had to fight for this one too? It wasn't even a monster, just a redhead. Raising an eyebrow, she glanced to the girl pinned to the ground. Milah, one of the girls from the mission. Was he using some kind of telekinesis?

Oh well, it wouldn't matter. She gave an irritated sigh, resigned to the fact that she'd have to fight again. And she'd been hoping for something easy. "If you know what's good for you, then you'll get the hell out of my way."

Kayla slashed her arm through the air, and a streak of lightning went racing toward the boy with a bright blue flash.

What was with all of this confidence? It almost seemed like she knew what the outcome of the battle would be. If she does, i might as well try to change it to my liking. His eyes searched all over her body, trying to find anything he could use against her, and waiting for any type of muscle movement. It was hard to see however, since the girl was thick layers of blood. Hopefully that would slow her down a bit. Before he knew it, she had fired off her first attack. He sidestepped, just in time to barely miss the bolt. Immediately he mimicked her action, and increased the gravity around her.

Just as she was bringing her hand back to throw another bolt, a sudden force pressed down on her that made her knees buckle. What the hell is... Her water-soaked clothes suddenly felt as heavy as lead. Don't tell me... gravity?

That was tricky. Something like telekinesis or hydrokinesis was simple enough to counter, but the manipulation of gravity itself was a different story. Was it limited to a specific bubble? Could she escape the pocket and enter into real gravity again, or would it just follow her? Did it drain his energy to use it? Was there a time limit? If he was using his power on her, would it still effect that other girl over there on the ground, or was she free to get up?

And if she was, who would Milah help? Her, or him? Would she run away? When would that dragon come swooping down? Would some other kid come charging in to try and steal the egg out from under them?

So many questions, but thinking and planning was always half the battle in stuff like this. Experience taught her that much.

There was only one way to test it, really.

Kayla charged forward with a pained leap, fighting against the force that tried to squash her. When she landed back on the concrete with a stomp, electricity spread across the bricks like ripples in a pond, heading straight for him.
