| Introduction You may deny it, but I can almost guarantee that almost every school has a cult on some sort of level, especially public school. Most of the time, at least one cult is there, even if you don't know it. Most likely it isn't successful in the slightest, but that's besides the point. It's still there, most likely. And it would only make sense that a school with troubled teens containing supernatural powers with no previous religious afflictions would have one, so why not make one? And who would be better to run it than your resident eclectic pagan, Kes? This topic may be long, but if you're interested, the read of this topic will be well worth it. Information is put in spoilers for length and prettiness issues. But before I actually organize things, I want to know the interest value. Please vote either way (yes or no.) Basic Information on Cults - Spoiler:
cult kəlt noun a system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object.
This is the dictionary definition of a cult, and it mildly displays the workings of a cult. There are many cults who don't follow a particular religion. A coven and a cult are similar in definition, but different in practice. A coven has more of a family-like structure, where as a cult is more of a gang type structure. (Please note, this and any following information is typically the case.) Ranking is very important, and one works their way up from the bottom. A common structure goes as follows: Leader → Second-in-Command → "Guards" → Recruiters → Members → Newbies. Different names for the rankings according to cult, of course. Bigger cults have more complicated and intricate systems. Ours will be simple. Cults typically have an initiation before they find out the important stuff. I think we all know the basics of a cult. I need not go on.
