A loud cry from Hosa echoed in the air after Regina's shout as they stuck the ground; pain flashing though her body as she hit the ground. Her back ached from the fall, while her now-broken tusks shot up sharp pain though her body from where they had broken. Amazing, her head had somehow survived Regina trying to break it. Of course, Hosa was sure she had a skull fracture but her main focus was on her ribs...Oh, her ribs. The next thing Hosa knew, she had turned back into a human and quickly did her best to push the injured Regina from her, before she hugged her chest painfully as she tried to sit up and scoot away from her opponent. Her ribs...She let out a soft snarl of pain, her eyes closed as she felt her mind drift back to another time. They were broken...They were broken; again. Hosa couldn't help but think of her first mission; taking down the 'Giant Spider of Doom.' She had broken her ribs after getting nailed in the chest by one of the giant spider's legs, and while Hosa wouldn't have admitted it; she had grown a small fear of spiders since. Thinking that a spider could even be that size; be that powerful. It could of killed them all if they hadn't been gifted like they were, but she hadn't dared go on another mission since nor did she even think about turning into spiders with her gift. She was...Simply to afraid too.
However, her broken ribs, the pain that flashed though her body. It all brought those simple fears back and she started to shake slightly; the pain and memories becoming a bit to much. Regina had put Hosa past her breaking point. Hosa suddenly let out a sudden cry as her whole body flashed with sudden pain, causing her to let go of her ribs as she fell forward; having to use her arms to support herself. She was...She was transforming? She knew what this felt like when her body started to transform against her will. It always gave her a warning, but this warning was filled with pain. So...Much pain. The pain only grew worse as Hosa tried to fight it; to scared to go though with it. What was going on? Her powers had never caused her so much pain before so why was it now? However, her body wouldn't let her fight it, the pain grew until it was simply to much and her will to fight it cracked, and her whole body changed in a quick second.
A soft growl rumbled in Hosa's throat as she forced herself to her feet, now in a new form as her eyes opened before narrowing to slits. Her tail lashed across the ground, striking a tree and sent it crashing to the ground. Large, black wings unfolded from her sides as she took a step forward, letting out a mighty roar toward Regina. The black scales that covered Hosa's body glimmered slightly in the sunlight, showing off what Hosa had turn into in all of its glory; a dragon. She raised her head to stare down at Regina after her roar had ended, snarling to reveal the sharp rows of teeth she had. No sign of mercy could be seen in Hosa's cold blue eyes as she gaze at her opponent, before she opened her mouth as blue flames started to dance across her jaws, and shot a pillar of the searing hot flames straight for Regina.
----
"Oh shit!" Regina hissed as she watched Hosa transform into a fire breathing dragon right before her eyes. Her uneasiness quickly turned into panic as she caught sight of the blue flames dancing around the large creature's toothy mouth. The girl ignored the wince she involuntarily made when she pushed herself up from the ground so forcefully, and with her punctured shoulder.
The tall girl was just beginning to make a little distance when she was forced to the ground again by the shockwave that the blast of fire had sent out. The beast's attack only succeeded in knocking the wind out of her lungs and discombobulating her momentarily. Regina laid sprawled out across the concrete dazed, with her senses fuzzy. The only thing that brought the girl out of this state was when she caught a whiff of something burning and found, to her anger and dismay, that her abnormally orange hair had taken to the blue flame.
"Shit, shit, shit!" she exclaimed as she, yet again, threw herself from the ground and made a b-line for the water fountain. Without even a second thought, Regina launched herself into the somewhat cool waters of the landmark. She soon emerged with a gasp, filled with both a need for air and contentment. But, as soon as her euphoria ended, anger and determination filled her orange eyes. "Alright, messing with my hair was below the belt!" she yelled, her voice dripping with rage.
Regina was about to leap out of the fountain and go straight for her opponent, but the glint of metal hit her eye and a smile grew on her lips. With this quick change of plans, the teen made a break for her shield, which wasn't too far from where she was currently, and hoped that it would at least buy her some time before she could figure out an end-game plan.
---
There was a hiss from Hosa as she narrowed her eyes, her tail lashing in annoyance when she saw Regina had survived. She wanted to dive forward and try to end this once and for all, but a small part of her told her to stop, to wait...A part that was fighting her, one that didn't want this to end like she was hoping for it to. She watched with cold gaze as she stared at Regina, watching as she dove into the fountain to put out her burning hair. The words that the Winter yelled at her didn't effect the dragon, she just stood there. However, when she saw Regina retreating to go get her shield, she let out a hiss which quickly turned into a roar as she as she flapped her great wings once, taking to the sky. Her mouth filled with flames once more as she shot another blast of the blue flames at Regina, before flapping her wings to rise into the sky a bit more, before swooping down toward Regina; getting ready to hopefully capture her in her claws.
---
Regina instinctively rose the shield to protect herself from the blast of blue flame sent her way. Wow, this would be a lot cooler if I had a damsel in distress...! she couldn't help but chuckle as the thought entered her mind. The girl grunted as she pushed against the attack, coming up from a crouch to stand at her full, 5'11" height.
She was slightly relieved when the onslaught ebbed away before ending entirely, but that relief was quickly replaced by uneasiness. If there's no more fire coming at me, then that must mean... Regina's orange eyes trailed upward to spot the large, winged creature taking to the sky. "Oh you've got to be kidding me!?" she groaned with a sigh, although it all seemed a little melodramatic.
The Winter regained her seriousness as soon as she took heed of the fact that her opponent was making a move toward her. When trying to think of some sort of evasive maneuver to try, a thought occurred to Regina. Now that she's really big and has bones, I, being smaller and having my gift, have a significant advantage...! The idea made her smile with a mix of joy, gratitude, and wickedness.
To make her new plan work Regina waited until Hosa got deathly close to her, before diving lower herself and taking off in the opposite direction as fast as she could. When she was a good distance away, she got low in the foliage and crawled beneath a large toppled tree for good measure.
---
Claws dug into the earth as Hosa landed right where Regina had been not long before, staring off as the Winter ran and hide. What was she doing? Hiding wasn't going to save her. Her tail flickered angry as she drew a bit closer to the foliage that Regina was hiding under, a sharp hiss leaving her mouth as she lowered her head slightly, her icy blue eyes trying to locate where she had hidden. She should of simply breathed fire where Regina was hiding, but no, that would ruin the fun of the chase...Or...Her eyes glimmered faintly. Why didn't she; she was fine with...No, wait; draw closer. That was all she could focus on. It most likely seemed foolish to the people watching; they knew what Regina could do with a touch but Hosa no longer cared; she had to end this. She had to end this now.
