Sushi the Socialite Empty
PostSubject: Sushi the Socialite   Sushi the Socialite EmptySun Mar 24, 2013 8:00 pm

Evelyn flipped her phone shut, plopping unceremoniously onto her bed. A flip-phone was a quaint thing in such a year as 2033, when everyone owned smartphones with touchscreens and other fancy things. She didn't mind, though. Her parents would have never been able to afford something like a smartphone, and her dad always used to say that fourteen year old girls shouldn't be owning phones anyways. It wasn't like she used it often, anyways. She hardly had a handful of pictures and only two contacts to begin with.

Mom and dad.

She missed them.

Evelyn sighed, slowly turning the phone over in her hand with her long slender fingers. A five minute long conversation over the phone wasn't enough to push away the undeniable feeling of loneliness. Shedding her thigh highs and slipping out of her shoes, she just laid on her bed staring at the ceiling. She had decided to leave out everything related to Montare when talking to her parents. Evelyn didn't want to worry them. No, she just said that she made a few friends and that things were going well. It wasn't entirely untrue, anyways.

She couldn't help but wonder what was wrong with Montare. Was he mentally unstable? Mentally challenged, even? No, that couldn't be it. Maybe he had attachment or abandonment issues from his childhood. She silently mulled it over, her mind wandering. He just stood there while Jace was threatening him and telling him to leave. Maybe he was mentally challenged. Either way, it was a scary thought.

Jace... he'd protected her and Lotte. Evelyn found her face burning up again. Stupid.

Still, she wish she had someone to talk to... she could have stayed with Jace and Lotte out in the courtyard, but she left. Why did she leave? And she had even left behind her dagger... it was an accident, for the most part. Still, she secretly hoped that somebody found it and kept it for themselves. She didn't want anything to do with a blade.

Evelyn looked to her side, seeing Sushi swimming happily and obliviously inside his tank. She felt awful. She needed someone to talk to. Kimply and Oliver were just a couple seconds away, but... she wouldn't be able to talk to them properly...

"I don't know what to do..." Evelyn muttered to herself, looking at the tank. Muttered to herself? Maybe Sushi... she didn't know. Was she talking to her fish? Possibly. Did she care? Maybe, it was hard to tell. "Whenever I'm around other people, all I want to do is for them to go away... but some people are so nice..."

She could feel her face burning, and she tentatively stroked the cheek where Alicia had kissed her. Her face burned even more as her thoughts began to race. "No... I can't think that way..."

Oliver sat on the couch outside the dorms, watching television quietly. He didn't want to disturb his roommates, and it was at a comfortable volume, where he could hear it but most people out of the television to couch radius could not. He had recently finished his homework, and the boy was overcome with laziness. His bag was off to the side on the floor next to the couch, and in his hands was a bag of popcorn he picked up at a store in town. Sometimes, a night like this was the best night of all. He flipped through the channels with a tired expression, before finding one he liked and sticking to it.

Kimply, who had promptly changed out of her uniform and into a comfortable pair of jeans and a messy ponytail, quietly walked over to Evelyn's room. It was supposed to be cold that night, and since her socks were in the wash, she had come to ask if her dormmate had some she could borrow. Cold feet were unhappy feet, after all. Stopping at the doorway, Kimply peeked inside. She didn't mean to listen, but she had just come at the perfect time. Raising her hands in defeat, she stepped inside the room. "Well, if you want me to go away, you could have just said so, hon." She held a look of mock hurt, raising a petite hand to her chest. "Honestly, I just came to ask for socks, after all~"

Evelyn quickly sat up, her face red and eyes wide. "N-n-no.... I... I..." How embarrassing. She got caught talking to herself. Or her fish. She wasn't sure which was worse. And talking about that. What was she supposed to say? Could she say anything. Shaking slightly, Evelyn let herself fall over onto the bed and buried her face in her pillow.

"Top drawer, on the right..." a muffled reply came soon afterwards as Evelyn slowly pulled all her limbs together in a tiny ball.

He twisted the blade around in his hands a few time, looking at the sheath and inspecting the handle. It wasn't fancy, but it would certainly help Evelyn protect herself - for reasons he never really got to explain to her; but even still, she had forgotten it and it was important that she kept it close to her. That's why he was going out of his way to bring it to her now. That, and she had seemed rather off before she had disappeared, like she was in a hurry. He wanted to check on her.

He opened the door to the Winter common room. Already, just looking around, he felt rather out of place - but this shouldn't have taken long. He told himself to suck it up and walked inside, shutting the door behind him - spotting a familiar face from the infirmary sitting on the couch. "Hey, you know where Evelyn's room is?" He asked, lifting up the small blade, "She forgot something."

Kimply laughed hard, clenching her stomach. When she was finally able to breathe, she gasped, "Don't get all embarrassed, hon. It's totally fine. I've already forgotten how you were talking to your fish, don't worry." Still chuckling, she moved to the dresser and pulled out a pair of green socks. Sitting on the edge of Evelyn's bed, she put them on her feet while sneaking peeks at the girl. Trying to draw Evelyn out of her makeshift hideaway, Kimply grabbed the closest pillow and smacked the ball of a girl with it. "Come out, come out~" She called in a singsongy voice. "Or I will see if it's possible to kill someone with only a pillow and willpower." Her voice was eerily cheerful as she said that, and she calmly waited for Evelyn to react and get up.

Evelyn didn't move, besides her gentle shaking. Her face was a bright red and her eyes were clenched shut. She felt like she was going to cry. Or throw up. Or something. Did she have to walk in at that very moment? Even still, Kimply's teasing wasn't really helping. Why did she have to taunt her about it? Evelyn couldn't tell if she was teasing her to try to cheer her up or make fun of her, possibly both.

The pillow comment threw her a bit off, since it was very possible to kill someone with a pillow. All you had to do was cover their face with it and hold down. Evelyn shifted a bit, just in case Kimply tried to murder her in some kind of demented attempt to get her out of the ball.

Oliver looked up at the autumn. What was he doing here? It became known as Jace asked him a question, and swallowing the popcorn he had put in his mouth, answered said question.
"That room. I heard some talking in there, so she shouldn't be changing or any of that embarrassing stuff." said Oliver, before realizing he just said that. His mind flashed to a thought of Evelyn in her room, slowly undressing and talking to her fish...
Oliver clamped his forehead, leaning back and almost beating his head on the sturdy back part of the couch. What the hell, brain!?

Kimply sighed, leaning back on the bed for a moment. "Don't get all upset... Please. I don't mean to scare you or anything... I really don't care about it, okay? Nothing to get all embarrassed over." She sat up and turned towards the short haired girl. Poking her lightly in the side, Kimply spoke, "and I don't want to kill you with a pillow. It would probably hurt. Plus people would look at me funny." She'd be the laughing stock of the prisoners. And Evelyn didn't want that, right? She didn't want Kimply to murder her at all, did she?

Jason simply blinked at the other boy before a few seconds before forcing an awkward laugh, trying to lighten the air after that amazing revelation. "Thanks for the heads up." He said, rubbing the back of his neck and flicking his gaze over to the room that this boy had pointed too - which he still didn't know the name of... Might as well get that out of the way, while he was here - its not a quick introduction was too far out of his way. "Names Jace, by the way." The young man smiled and offered him his hand to shake.

Evelyn slowly opened her eyes as Kimply's tone became more soothing, and sat up as she was poked in the side. It tickled, kind of. As much as a poke could tickle, anyways. "Sorry..." Evelyn murmured, sitting up and smiling from Kimply's little joke. Maybe it wasn't a joke and Kimply was serious about being looked at funny for killing suffocating someone with a pillow. Evelyn wouldn't put it past her.

She heard someone talking outside her door, and the voice sounded familiar. Still, she ignored it. Instead, with one calculated strike, Evelyn lightly jabbed Kimply in the stomach with her index finger. "You better return those... by the way..." Evelyn said with a mischievous smile, even though her voice remained quiet. It was nice, to have someone to talk to. She'd have to talk to Kimply more often.

"I heard of you." the boy said with a smile. "Nice to meet you. My name is Oliver."
This boy was the Headmaster's son, if he was correct. He had seen him when he first arrived, and the boy was the only person not with luggage. Oliver wondered what the school looked like when so empty. It was almost eerie, since the campus was so big.

Don't worry, Evelyn. No matter how much she said so, she wouldn't kill anyone... Probably. *shot*
Kimply smiled, swatting away Evelyn's hand without force. "It's like you doubt me," She looked dramatically offended, raising a hand to her chest and dropping her jaw. "I only threatened to kill you, like twice."
Voices softly carried from down the hall and she frowned. "Who do you think is here?" Being the Pathfinder, she should have been able to pick it up, but so far she was unable to do much more than get a layout of the school and grow a basic sense of where a few friends were. Aside from Evelyn. She could see the girl perfectly fine, but for some reason she had no way of just sensing where she was.

"I have my eyes on you..." Evelyn mumbled, shooting a surprisingly serious pointed gaze at Kimply with a dark sinister expression on her face which went away as quickly as it came when she spoke again. Evelyn turned her attention to the door, tilting her head and straining her ears. "It's just Oliver... I think..."

The voices were muffled through the door, but it was a safe bet. Maybe it was the other elusive dormmate she had failed to even meet yet. Perhaps both.

The young man blinked, looking a little surprised for a few moments, "Oh, you have?" There was another bit of a silence until Jason chuckled again, much more naturally this time around. "I guess I'm getting popular." He nodded to Ollie-boy with a smile and headed off in the direction of the girls dorms. "Hey - Thanks, Oliver." He called back, making sure to remember this guy's name. He seemed cool.

He stopped again in front of the door to her room. Oliver had said there was talking in the room so he had wondered if there was someone else still in there with her. A little awkwardly, he knocked lightly on the door with the back of his hand. "Evelyn, you there?"
