No Strings Attached [closed]

It was quiet, oddly enough- not that it was a problem for her. Harmony silently closed the door behind her as to not signal somebody was in the room. Sunlight filtered into the studio, bringing more light to the otherwise dead room. She was glad she could get the room to herself; kids were usually in this room most days, but today was an exception. The girl recalled meeting a much younger child in this very room. She reflected on how she had received a painting from her- which was tucked neatly in one of Harmony's drawers -and promised to help the young girl look for an imaginary blue duck. She hadn't seen the girl much after her first trek through the campus looking for a fictional creature.

Calmly, the blonde absentmindedly plucked a book from one of the many shelves in the room before plopping down into a chair. She sprawled the book on the table in front of her, eyeing the first few pages. Learn to Throw: The Beginner's Guide to Yo-Yoing. What a dumb book. Giving a shrug, Harmony continued to the next page. It was so quiet. So peaceful. The only sound in the room was the whisper of turning pages.

After about an hour had passed, the teen had already found a hidden yo-yo in the back of the book. She had begun practicing with it. She glared at the pages while simultaneously tossing the yellow ball. Hurling it forward, it hit the table loud enough to make Harmony jump in surprise. She continued to flick the toy, strings tied around her fingers. This was surprisingly difficult, but she'd started to get the hang of it. Harmony found herself alone, flinging the yo-yo, smiling to herself. Gee, yo-yoing was fun. :>

Alright, so he had only ruined about half of the art club's precious painting collection. No big deal though, right? They were just small cheap little acrylic paintings, easily replaceable. It wasn't as if any hard work was put into them or anything. Just because they had all turned to ash was no big deal. It wasn't like he had done it on purpose. They could live. They should've been straight up happy that they weren't all burned alive. He could start fires pretty easily. Controlling them, though, that was another story entirely.

Still, the teacher didn't seem to agree with his logic and he was forced to spend the rest of the week cleaning out the studio rooms. "God, could this any bigger of a waste of time?" He muttered his breath, swearing as soon as he finished one room, someone came back and trashed the place an hour later. Paint and pencils and shreds of paper all over the place. He had half a mind to finish what he had started and burned the entire floor to the ground period. Whoops?

Liam let out a groan as he walked into the room, seeing another student on a table nearby. Great, now what shit was she getting into. The young man paused and blinked when he finally realized what she was doing. ... A yo-yo?

He couldn't help but smirk, walking in and shutting the door behind him. "You look like you're having fun-" He flinched when she slammed it against the table. "Or not...? Do you even know what you're doing?"

Harmony huffed, glaring at the yo-yo. Why was it so hard to use? Sometimes it would comply. Other times, it would topple onto the tile floor uselessly. As soon as she was getting ready to try it again, she heard the door shut behind her. Nearly falling over, Harmony spun around, wide-eyed. The yo-yo spun with her and traveled around her legs, coiling around her like a snake. The person that had entered the room was an unfamiliar young man. She had seen him around at times, but expertly avoided him. Now, there was no way out of this confrontation.

"No, uh-" In her surprise, she had dropped the yo-yo from her hands, hearing it hit the floor with a loud clang. She realized that the strings were tangled around her legs. Good thing she didn't start walking. Embarrassed, the blonde scrambled from the web of a yo-yo, nearly tripping over her own feet. God, this was pathetic; she was being bested by mere string! Finally, she had escaped the tethers of death and despair, being able to kick the untangled thread off of her. She couldn't even look at the stranger that had entered the room.

"Yeah," Harmony breathed, slapping a hand against the table and leaning on it. "I know what I'm doing."

Liam didn't move, raising his eyebrow and watching in quiet amusement as the young woman suddenly became flustered; dropping the yo-yo, sending the toy flying all around and almost practically tripping over her own handiwork. The icing on the cake was when she propped herself back up on the table, as if she'd been playing it cool the entire time. Admittedly, it got a little chuckle out of him. "Uh huh, sure," He mused, talking a few steps forward and reaching his hand out, making a gesture towards the yo-yo. "Care for me to give you a few tips?"
