| Jane rolled the tomato over in her fingers.
What kind of cafeteria handed out full raw tomatoes?
Cafeteria food was as uninspired and inoffensive as you could get. It was to food what ankle-length gray skirts were to fashion. Boring. Weak. Insipid. So when she saw it just sitting there by itself, of course she had to grab it. She wasn't going to eat a fucking uncut tomato, but she still grabbed it, and the lunch lady just let her go back to her table with a long wordless look. So now what?
That was the question.
Jane rolled the tomato over in her fingers.
The rest of her tray was nothing special. Baby carrots, grapes, pretzels, some knock-off brand of soda from the hallway vending machine, and that was it. Food was one of humanity's easiest indulgences, but she'd never been able to keep too much food down. The evidence was in her waist, her legs, caught somewhere between skinny and slim. Two words that sounded so much alike, but it was a fine line between 'slender' and 'underweight.' Jane managed to straddle the delicate balance.
Right now, her attention was on the vegetable in her palm.
Fruit?
Both.
She frowned and leaned against the table, still staring at it. This is boring. Why am I so focused on this thing?

| OOC: I should so be a part of this. What a great way to start off a new school year. XD
IC: The new girl sat down at whatever table she sat at, staring blankly at her... Not disgusting food, yet it wasn't delicious ethier. She sighed, resting her head on her sweaty Palm.
She was simply tired and bored of class.
Since the many deaths of her family and the stress of moving and starting a new school was annoying enough without having to worry about a drunk father!
Though she knew that she couldn't just throw out the crappy food they served, because her father spent whatever he had to spend. Mommy used to work a lot of the time, She pondered dryly, But Daddy got drunk when he went to work, so he got fired...
She took her filthy white plastic fork and scooped whatever crap was dropped onto the tray.
