A Bit Much

It seemed Beata was very much to Lady's liking. He had explored most of the campus and had taken to his thoughts that the place was well structured and operational. Obviously, it was a very nice school. Lady liked that and was finding his way around a less explored area of the school when he realized he hadn't actually met anyone yet. That was rather unfortunate, since he liked talking to people and people generally liked talking to him.

Once inside a studio, Laden looked around, searching for something to do. He wasn't particularly skilled on any instrument, with any medium of art, or much of an actor. The studios were basically useless to him. But he found them interesting and fun. Just looking around there was a variety of options. Instantly he picked up a guitar and tested it. The sound that came from it was awful, but it felt clean and raw under his fingers.

Placing his fingers on certain strings and those things he believed were called fets he strummed again, this time creating a rather pleasant sound. Doing this a couple more times he moved his fingers to attempt to create another sound, succeeding save one note that came off just a bit sour. "Hah, and everyone says this is hard!" He exclaimed to himself gleefully.

Barry was heading to the studios to practice up on his trumpet when he heard a horrendous strumming of a guitar. He cringed at the sound, but then he heard a more pleasant strumming. Is there someone trying out new instruments? he asked himself. Once he entered the studio, he noticed a boy there, holding a guitar, just as he played a slightly off note. The Autumn smiled. "Trying out a new instrument?" he asked. "I myself am a Trumpet Wizard."

Playing the guitar didn't seem as hard as people had always said it was. Lady was really enjoying the feeling of the guitar under his fingers. But he had made a few sour sounds. He cringed slightly as these but kept going. He almost didn't notice the other boy enter until he spoke up. Looking up Lady grinned, happy to see another face. He had drawn him in.

"Yeah! This is so easy." Laden responded, strumming two or three separate chords perfectly. Laughing at Barry's boasting he put a hand on one of his hips and gave him a challenging look. "Yeah? Why don't you show me, Trumpet Master?" He challenged. There were many studios and many instruments and Lady wasn't leaving so Barry could just go get the trumpet and show him.

Barry smirked and got out a shiny brass trumpet. He pulled it out of its case and put it to his mouth. He began blasting out the Legend of Zelda theme from memory.

Encouraging someone to show off was playing up their ego. In order to make friends, Laden was going to need to make everyone feel better about themselves. Letting Barry show off and brag was just one way of doing it. Luckily, Barry wasn't a humble person and easily agreed, without saying a word, to play trumpet for Lady. Already he could feel the bonds of friendship forming.

Of course, Barry wasn't wrong when he said he was good. Because he was very good. Grinning as he watched Barry play, Lady listened to how he managed to hit every note right. They sounded right, at least. Laden didn't recognize the song, but he liked hearing Barry play it.

When the other boy finished, Laden smiled and gave him mock applause. "Bravo! You certainly weren't lying when you said you were Trumpet Wizard." Lady said with a pleasant laugh. "If only I could be that good at something." He swooned and sighed dramatically and then strummed a few minor chords on the guitar.

Barry bowed with a slight blush. "Thank you, thank you." he said, laughing.

There were so many talented people in the world, Lady found it nice to meet someone with such a unique one. Trumpet wasn't very common, at least from what he remembered, and this guy was good. Slinging the guitar off his back he set it down.

"I'm Lady. It's nice to meet the resident Trumpet Wizard." Lady said, offering Barry a hand to shake. It was only polite and he wanted to introduce himself. Barry seemed like a nice person.
