Flick!
The copper sound whistled through the air, distinct and ear-splitting, sending birds fluttering behind her in a dazed alarm. The coin, bent from an intense force, flew to the lake, bouncing off the browning water and further, hopping like a hare through the aquatic track. Faster it went, further and further, until Arbor brought up her hand, curling her fingers down, an exceptional grappling nothingness in the grip of her palm. And exceptionally enough, the coin stopped in its tracks, but in the pull back, it met the water. The penny disappeared into the depths of the lake with a bubbling surrender, and Arbor sighed with irritation, almost childlike.

She was supposed to beat Kayla. She was supposed to be the strongest person at the school. She withdrew another coin, flipping it up into the air, and aimed it at the lake once more. She dented the tails-side, as she did her first time, and as if impacted by a bullet, it too flew. And with a furrowed brow, a twitch of the frown stamped on her face, she pulled hard at the penny, sucking it towards her intensely. She saw it explode in the middle of the lake, a cloud of water rising and falling with a heavy grace in the center of the water.

Not exactly what she wanted, but it wasn't necessarily bad...

Ed saw the small explosion from the middle of the lake and decided to investigate. He arrived at the shore of the lake and looked around. The only person he saw there was a girl. Was she the one who caused that? Seems like a dangerous and useful gift. he thought to himself. He was across the lake from her, so he back up to the closest tree and took off, speeding over the lake with his speed. He approached her and asked bluntly, "Was that you?"

Gage had been at the lake for about an hour or so. The forest, especially the lake, was his favorite place to work on his gift. He had been sitting right at the edge of the lake, where the water barely brushed up against the grass. There were not many people at the lake. A girl was on the side of him a few feet away and some other people across the lake. The girl seemed to be throwing a coin into the lake, which made a high pitch sound that was irritating him. Gage tried blocking it out and focusing on the Dove-like construct he had made a while back. The blue bird circling up above the lake. He had been able to construct it with ease and was trying to keep it materialized for as long as he could. Everything was running smoothly until an explosion happened in the center of the lake, causing the water to rise and fall dramatically down.

The explosion had caught him off guard, meaning the construct he was training with dematerialized during the blast. An expression of disbelief formed on his face. Now he'd have to start all over. He was pissed to say the least. He looked over at the girl who had threw the penny; he knew it had to be her. "The hell was that fo-" he stopped as some student came out of no where, almost like he had teleported there. He was concerned about the explosion as well. Gage walked over toward the girl, an angered look on his face. "Yeah! Was that you?!"

There was company? Arbor honestly did not remember seeing anyone else at the lake. Perhaps it was the goggles she put up when training, for all she saw was the lake and the coins that skated on it; apparently there were other people. She gave a sideways glance to Ed, a further glance to Gage, and she was content with frowning. "Who are you?" Her voice came softly, rising in a whisper like yeast.

"You can call me Ed." he said. "Now, was that you? Did you cause that?" he jerked his thumb to the lake and then crossed his arms. He cast a glance at Gage but acted as if he weren't there.

Gage raised a brow at her question. Trying his hardest not to just snap at her. He glanced at the lake, small ripples flowed throughout it. Taking a breather before speaking, "My name is Gage..." There was no need to ask again if she had made that small explosion in the lake a few minutes ago; Ed had already asked it. He glanced over at Ed and then back the girl.

"Ed....Gage...." Arbor looked them over, then out of her vest pocket came a folded-up piece of paper. The folds were old, sliced and bent so many times so that the paper looked ready to split in four. She peered it over, and immediately shoved it in her pocket. Her face did not waver, save for the drag of her eyes across the page, the occasional twitch of her slender brow. She looked up at them when it was discarded.

"Go away, you're disturbing me."

"I'll go away as soon as you tell me what that was that exploded in the middle of the lake." Edward said, face as unwavering as Arbor's.

Gage watched with curiosity as the young girl pulled out a really old piece of paper. What was on it? Was she looking for something based on what was on that paper? He was tempted to just take it from her and see for himself, but if she was the one to create that explosion, then it wouldn't be smart for him to just grab it. He decided to let it be and not look further into it. "No, I think I'll hang out a bit right here." He threw his hands behind his head and grinned. Eyes glaring at the girl.

Arbor looked at Ed for a while with an expression of blankness, yet annoyance. She stepped up to him, and withdrew a penny from her pocket. "This," she said matter-of-factly. "I can kill you right now with just this." It jumped from her palm as she shifted the charges on her hand, and landed harmlessly onto her hand. Deceitfully. She glanced over at the other boy, Gage, and showed her first iota of emotion. She smiled.

Edward gave a short, bitter laugh. I'm not as easy to kill as the average Beata student." He said, pulling his unextended bo staff out of his pocket. He pressed the small button and it extended to its full length. He spun it around a few times before crossing his arms again.

Just a penny? How extraordinary, he thought to himself. Something as useless as a penny can be very destructive in this girl's hand. He took a mental note and then turned his attention to Ed. He watched unamused as he spun the staff around. "Cool yourself, Donatello." Eyes locked on him. Gage put his hands down from atop his head, the left one falling to his side and the right one extended out toward him. He pointed his index finger at Ed, the tip began emitting a blue aura.

He had laughed. What a moron. Arbor's gaze went to Gage, and her head cocked a little bit, tilting sideward. What was he doing? She flicked the coin into the air out of habit, catching it with an aggressive nab. Was it dangerous? Was it directed at her? She noticed its direction, it's aim, and the words he said, and decided it was probably for that boy. That was for the best. He was the aggressor.

If Edward had been more like his brother, he would've laughed at the nickname Gage had gave him. But then he noticed his fingers pointed at him and some weird blue aura coming from the tip of his finger. "I don't know what you're trying to do, but I wouldn't if I were you." He said threateningly.

OOC: You gotta remember he's not the teddy bear that Barry is. He scurry when he mad. *shot*

"Oh....Is that so?" He sneered. A small grin forming on his face. His index still pointing directly at Ed. He wasn't going to back down that easily. Gage was a fighter by nature. There was no changing that. Silence fell over them, a light breeze blew in the wind. He used his peripheral vision to check on the girl. Should he be focused on her? The moment was tense to say the least.
