A wooden statue had appeared out of a tree at the edge of the forest, the perfect form of a human. They had long hair, a scarf wrapping around their face, their arms embracing their knees. The attention to detail was incredibly eerie, even the eyelashes were present as tiny splinters. It appeared to be still alive; leaves had appeared across their head, a mismatching of short needles and broad, four-pronged leaves. The eyes were barely open, but they seemed to be human-like.

How long had they been stuck here? Heron had no idea. He and Raven had been fighting for hours on end, both refusing to cooperate with each other. The only solution he'd had was to go somewhere and find help, but she forced them to walk here. So, in defiance, he made them sit down and hadn't let go of the tree for days. He really hadn't meant to stay here for days, but it was the sudden appearance of leaves and the beginning of photosynthesis that made him stay.

They'd been silently arguing for hours, throwing around ideas in his brain as if they were objects. Neither had attended classes for days, surely someone was looking for them, at least a disgruntled teacher.

Vivan had just been passing by. The new student had thought it would have been a good idea too practice her teleportation here since the forest was vast, she would possibly get a better handle on where she had wanted too teleport. The brunette had rested her hand on a tree, glancing up at the sky. It was such a pretty day, a perfect time too hone in on her skills. Hopefully no body would interrupt her, she hated distractions, although she could get distracted rather easily. Vivan had glanced around looking for a spot too where she would want too teleport to, the brunette had then noticed a high branch. Closing her eyes, the words of her mother had rang in Vivan's mind. 'Focus..' Vivan had thought too herself, and in a matter of seconds she teleported although not to where she had wanted to go..

Reopening her eyes Vivan had glanced around her eyes narrowing. "Damn it!" She was at a completely different location from before!! Now she wasn't even sure where the hell she was. "Terrific!" Vivan had shouted in frustration, her hand clutching tightly. If she didn't get this teleportation under control who knows where she would wind up. Vivan had leaned back on a tree, trying too relax a little before her next attempt of teleporting back. Thats when the newer student had saw the strange wooden carving. Being curious, she had walked over looking at it from a closer view. Her first thought that it was extremely creepy, but someone obviously had talent in making wooden carvings. It had looked strangely human, whoever made this is a extreme freak. She figured the person must have been nearby since their carving was here after all. "Yo, anyone here?" Vivan had shouted her head cocking to the side. Before she side glanced towards the carving again. "If you don't claim it I'm gonna smash it to pieces!" That was a bluff, honestly Vivan had a plan too just teleport it somewhere. The brunette had figured it would be a good object too train with.

It was a rather nice day outside, a bit cold due to the upcoming winter, but still a great day to be out. His hands were tucked into the dark blue hoodie he had decided to wear that day. He enjoyed being in the forest. He may not have made it obvious with his blank face, but he truly did enjoy it. The forest was filled with natural energy. It was like an unlimited supply of energy that he could use to his own free will. The energy flowed around him like a light breeze, brushing up against his skin. The Summer student had been walking through the vast forest for about 20 or so minutes. It seemed like it was going to be another peaceful day until he heard what seemed to be someone shouting out for something. His curiosity made him walk into the direction of the voice, passing through a couple of shrubs until he finally seen the person who's voice he had heard.

It was a girl with brown hair and seemed to be around the same age as Gage. That wasn't the only thing he had noticed when he arrived at where she was. Right next to the brunette, stood a very...creepy wood carving. He approached it slowly, not paying any attention to the girl at first. His eyes were oddly focused on the wooden carving. It was very detailed, doubt it could have been made by hand. Being in Beata, it was most likely the work of a student. Even so, there was something odd about it.

Finally able to pry his eyes off the carving, he acknowledged the brunette. "I don't suppose you created this right?" he calmly said to her. He reached out his right hand and touched the carving. As soon as his fingers made contact his eyes widened. He slowly withdrew his arm back to himself. Gage knew there was something unusual about it, but not this unusual. "Not to alarm you or anything, but...that thing is alive."

The statue's mouth opened with a quiet creak. Out came a monotonous voice, speaking to the girl. "I'd take you to court for attempted murder." Heron didn't dare shift back into a human composition, right now he had the upper hand on the intruder in his head and he didn't want that changing any time soon. He strained his neck to look up at the two, the only part of him moving quickly being his eyes. Interestingly, they were wooden too, and had knoll-like patterns on them. He spoke slowly again, his tongue was wood too.

"Do you... have any food?" By personal experience he knew photosynthesis wasn't the most active way to produce energy, anything besides thinking required two hour's worth of energy made sitting still. Personal meaning right here, right now.

Vivan was surprised when another student had showed up, although at first it looked like Gage wasn't even focusing on her. The dudes main thought was the wooden carving and Vivan found that slightly rude, her eyes had narrowed as she was about too shout him a greeting but he had already said something. Raising and eyebrow the new student had shook her head, "No, I just had found it over here." Vivan had sitting down and leaning against the trunk of a dying tree, glancing at her fingers as she became disgusted at how ugly her nailbeds had looked. Vivan hadn't been exactly paying attention too Gage she was to focused on how hideous her nails looked. Although when he had said something the brunette had glanced over blinking, what did he mean that the statue was alive..? It couldn't be alive. "Whaaat? No way." Vivan had walked over too get a closer look Vivan had stepped back when the carving spoke. "Uh! I was um um kiiding!" The brunette said with choked laughter before he had said something else. Vivans eyebrows had furrowed with confusion, something too eat? Vivan wasn't even sure how the statue could chew down his food. "Um.. I have some chocolate?" Vivan had said as she reached for her half-eaten chocolate bar.

Well that wasn't something you'd see everyday. A blank look gazed up his face as the statue had began to talk. Food? It wanted food? Gage shook his head toward the carving, "Sorry, I don't have any food on me." he stood there looking at the carving before averting his attention to the girl next to him. "I'm Gage by the way, and who would you be?" he said with a light smile on his face. "I suppose you have a name as well, right?" Turning his head back to the statue. Of course it had a name. It was a student after all. Or at least that's what he kept telling himself.

A question kept coming to mind as more time passed by. Why was that student out here? Were they trying to catch other students off guard by posing as a wooden statue? Or maybe they just felt like being a tree out in the forest. His mind pondered off the many reasons why they were out here. He finally decided to ask the statue. "So why are you out here in the middle of the forest?"

Wooden eyes locked on the chocolate. It looked like the most beautiful thing in the world, actual chocolate instead of the "chocolate" that one deer left for him. He didn't touch it. But the type offered was made for eating, so he stretched out his arm, tearing it from the side of the tree he was leaning on, and took it. "Thank you."

'You better let me have some,' growled the voice in his head.
The boy nearly scoffed out loud. 'If you let me move.'
The voice was silent for a moment. 'I taste all the food for a month, and you control the body. Deal?'
Heron thought and answered. '...Deal. Just make sure we don't turn into whatever we eat, Raven.'

At an almost agonizing pace, he absorbed the leaves he'd somehow grown and became human again, flesh and all. It felt like he'd just eaten, too. That's probably what happened to the leaves. The Winter felt stiff and sore from sitting for so long, his knees wobbled and he had to grip the tree behind him for balance. He answered the question given to him once everything felt right. "It's Heron." Every time he stretched, some joint would pop. It sounded strange and somewhat disgusting, but it felt great to be moving again.

He wrapped his scarf tighter around his neck and mouth, relishing in the warmth. The boy looked up to answer the second question. "Whatever you do, do not go on a mission to a haunted mansion in October." The more precise answer would have probably weirded them out. Getting your soul split in half was awkward to explain.

Huuuh? Before she could blink the bar of chocolate was snatched out of her hands, desperate much? Her eyes had slightly narrowed she was going too split it since she was hungry too but it looked like the statue had needed it more. An eyebrow rose before she slowly nodded when Heron had said thank's for the chocolate bar, "...uh welcome?" The summer had said slightly confused before glancing over towards Gage. "Im Vivan, nice too meet you." The summer said with a soft smile before answering his next question. "Training, what about you guys?" Vivan had let out a surprised gasp when Heron had suddenly changed forms and turned back too a human, the summer had felt her face become blue. Whatever gift Heron had was weird as hell... and she thought that teleporting was pretty strange but this? was way way way weirder. "Missions?" Being new too the school it wasn't surprising that Vivan didn't know what they were.

So it was Vivan and Heron. He glanced over at Heron and then back at Vivan. Checking his watch before replying to Vivan. "I was just taking a walk through the forest. It's a nice day today isn't it?" His attention was then directed at the boy who had began to revert back to a human. It kind of reminded him of a chameleon camouflaging into it's surroundings but more extreme. Mimicry was more of a better word to use. Listening to what he had to say about why he was here, it really didn't answer the question. Gage just decided to shrug it off and move on. "Yes, missions where you usually investigate some odd phenomena that usually leads to using your ability to help aid in the mission. Beata hands out these missions every so often to their students. I don't like using the term 'mission,' But the tasks they ask you to do make it seem that way." He said, folding his arms in front of him.

Heron glared at his stomach when it growled with almost a vigor. He'd need to eat something soon, before Raven became angry again. "More often than not it's something from The Island. Weird stuff lives there, and sometimes they get out." Easter had been the wrong day to go out for a walk. He was surprised nothing happened on Halloween, although he supposed it was the like any other day at Beata. Who knew who or what you'd meet by just wandering around the grounds.
