Autumn Antics at the Gym [for fishu-chan <3]

Kyou stood just inside on of the many training rooms, staring with glee at all of the workout equipment. She had been bed-ridden for months, struggling with severe bronchitis. Finally, she was all better and ready to strengthen her body like never before.

She had yet to come to the gymnasium, but seeing as it was free (she wouldn't object to anything free) and she needed to strengthen her physical prowess, it was fine time to visit the large building. After dropping off her things in the locker room and changing into more appropriate clothing, she headed towards a treadmill and paused to stretch before jumping in. Letting out a sigh of relief, she stepped onto the treadmill and looked at the surprising amount of buttons. Dumbfounded, she pressed the biggest button on the pad and the machine began moving at a slow and relaxing pace.

After a few minutes of experimenting with a buttons and taking her time, the brunette decided it was time to quicken her pace. She could feel a small sweat start to build up on her forehead, but kept up with the pace, pushing through the growing burn. It was the only way she would get better, and Kyou was determined to become stronger. She needed to prove she wasn't weak. Grabbing her water bottle she began chugging the water to help sooth her now rough throat. "C'mon Kyou. You can do it," the Autumn whispered to herself.

Unbeknownst to both Noah and Kyou, by some cruel stroke of destiny, today was the day that the two had both selected to visit the Beata gymnasium.

Noah unravelled his scarf as he pushed through the gym's front entrance, relishing the pleasant temperature difference from the cold, outside world all the while. Though it wasn't cold enough out that Noah couldn't go running, it was cold enough to be irritating. He was pleased to see how large the gym was, and what a wide array of different exercise methods were available for use. There was a pool, training dummies for practising powers, treadmills, weights.. I think I've found my favourite part of the campus. He grinned, and made for the locker room.

When he re-emerged, he wore naught but his running shoes and a pair of black shorts. It was warm in the gym to begin with, and Noah figured he'd boil to death after a good fifteen minutes of working out, so he'd decided to leave his shirt in his bag. He took a moment to ponder where he wanted to start, and then made for a treadmill. He stepped onto the machine, switched it onto a low speed, popped his headphones in, and then set it to its highest speed setting. As a random playlist of house music began to play, Noah became lost in his exercise, unaware that his mortal enemy was nearby.

Despite the hum of the treadmill, Kyou could hear approaching footsteps. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted the machine begin to move and feet begin to run at an extremely fast pace. Obviously whoever they were did not understand 'taking it slow'. The teenage girl took another swig of her drink as her eyes drifted of to look at the stranger. Seeing the boy without a shirt alone was enough to make her face burn up, but his muscles? Her face now bright red, she continued to drink as her gaze rose.

Kyou immediately spat out her drink once she saw that idiot's face. Her feet stumbled and she began chocking on her drink. Frantically reaching for the off button, she was relieved when the machine slowed to a stop and she could begin coughing without fear of slipping. Gasping for breath, she looked up once more at Noah. Him?! Of all people? Though she knew they happened to live in the same dorm, the fact that they would meet here of all places. The school's campus was giant, he had everywhere else to run. Especially with his ability. Surely for him running on the spot would be more effective than running on a treadmill.

The girl bent down and grabbed her knees, sweat dripping from her brow. Her brown eyes were stuck on the red-head's face, staring in disbelief. She couldn't help but let her gaze fall ever so slightly. Was he always this good looking?

Noah's exercise trance was broken as he felt flecks of liquid hit the side of his face, and he tugged one earbud out. "What in God's name--"

When he caught sight of Kyou, his eyes widened in both alarm and distaste. THAT little bint is here? Running right next to me?

Kyou's water bottle was lying in the ground next to her, its contents strewn across the floor. She was hunched over herself, drenched in her own perspiration and wheezing towards the ground. Her face had gone completely florid. She looked more embarrassed than pained, in Noah's perspective.

Without the slightest stumble, the redhead hopped off of the treadmill and stood before Kyou, arms crossed. A shirtless athlete and a fifteen-year-old whose face was as red as a tomato? Boy, oh boy.. If there was ever an opportune time to publicly embarrass the cocky little bitch, it was now. A devious grin crept across Noah's face. "The pool is up ahead, you know. I'm pretty sure we have to keep this part of the gym dry..." Noah leaned down towards her and added in as smug a tone as he could muster, ".. and I'm not talking about the water you spilled."

Did she hear him right? Or were her ears not working from the sheer shock of seeing Noah shirtless here. If it were possible her face would grow more red by the second. She looked up to see the speedster bent down, his face close enough to hers that she could feel his hot breath. Stuttering nonsensical words, Kyou rose and stood straight, her face flushed and her brown eyes staring forward in a serious manner. He could not be talking about... that. Then again, he was probably much more... experienced in that field. Wait, why was she thinking about how much action the red-headed asshole got? She was tempted to smack herself in the face to wake up from this nightmare, but she knew doing so would show that she lost.

"M-m-mm-Me? O-Over you? H-h-ha! Don't make me l-l-l-la-laugh!" The brunette laughed, though you couldn't tell with her stumbling. She grabbed for her towel, wiping it over her brow with one swift but shaky movement.

Noah's grin only grew wider as Kyou stuttered herself into an ever-growing pit of embarrassment.

She was no more than a cornered animal, now. There were a few people, fellow exercisers alarmed by the commotion Kyou was making, who were glancing curiously over at the pair. Noah sneered softly. This was exactly what he had wanted. The speedster had somehow managed to make her face go an even darker shade of red than it had been a moment ago.  All the blood in her body seemed to have rushed to her face. He was almost a little worried she was going to faint, the little twit.

Talking dirty was one of his hidden skills, which had taken years of sharpening to get to this point. He'd dated more than a few shy girls to know how to fluster them, and Kyou wasn't even a shy girl. She was just an inexperienced fifteen-year-old. Noah took a step closer to her when she stood up, locking his golden gaze with her's. "Say, speaking of the pool, I'm a bit of a swimmer myself. I've seen plenty of wet girls.." He leaned in even closer. "Wanna go for a dip, girlie?"

Kyou's heart stopped immediately.

She swore that it was frozen for at least a minute. Maybe she was dead, but had become perpetually stuck in this moment, frozen and staring at Noah's intense and teasing eyes. Her first instinct was to slap the red-head. Her second was too embarrassing to even think of. The third? That was a good choice. It would take all of her concentration, all of her remaining strength. But there was no backing down now.

Though the two were already inches apart, she leaned forward just enough for her lips to almost graze his. She paused there for a moment, breathing heavily and staring at him. Anyone watching would assume the girl would cave into her instincts and kiss him right there. She couldn't be the only feeling some sort of tension as she waited for the right moment to flip the switch. Just when it looked like she was about to close that small gap between them, Kyou turned her head so her mouth was beside his ear. "You think you're hot shit, don't you," she whispered, her tone suddenly becoming cheeky.

For what seemed like a millennium, Kyou stared up at Noah, frozen. She had gone completely florid by now, and barely even dared to breathe. Noah had managed to embarrass her so thoroughly that she no longer had words to throw at him. His smile only widened further the longer she gaped up at him. Upon coming up with the comment, Noah had initially formulated three possible reactions that Kyou would have. First and foremost, he thought she would yell at him and stomp out of the gym. It was characteristic of a whiny little bint, after all. Secondly, he'd guessed that she would slap him. Also something to be expected from Kyou. Thirdly and least likely of all, he thought that there was a slim chance that she'd lose her composure upon being so close to a man without a shirt, and perhaps.. No, Noah didn't even want to think about it. The thought of kissing Kyou, of all people, repulsed him. There's no way she'd have the gall to do that, anyways. She's--

Noah's train of thought instantly derailed, crashed and burned into a charred husk upon Kyou's next action. His smile faded. Instead of slapping him or shouting in his face, she stretched upwards and dipped her face in towards the speedster's. Noah could feel her breaths, still laboured from jogging, drift along his jawline in hot puffs. For a mere moment, he felt an uncomfortable weight in his stomach; heat flowering in his face - Panic, he believed this phenomenon was called. It wasn't a feeling that frequented his plain of emotions. It felt foreign. He hated it. What the hell was she doing?

Just before her lips touched his own, Kyou veered off to the side and uttered a snide insult into his ear. Noah's momentary panic dissolved instantaneously. He sneered at her, grin returning. "Heh. It's funny you should say that, considering you're the one playing at seduction to cover up for the fact that you were staring at my pecks while I was running. You should really work on being sexy, by the way, because you come off as more of a try-hard brat.. Or, y'know, you could always try being more subtle about ogling at me in public."
