New Years Party!

Sarah brushed off of her hands. She had just finished setting up for the New Years Party thatshe had posted about on Esper. There were chip bowls with dip near them sitting on the table, along with a couple liters of soda. She figured people would bring their own drink, most likely alcohol. She went ahead and opened the door to get ready for anyone that might arrive. Or at least she hoped people would show up. How lame would that be if nobody came? She shook the thought from her head and sat down on the couch, grabbing a couple chips. The Autumn girl then waited for the guests to show up.

Kyou, after hearing about a New Years Party taking place in her dorm, quickly rushed to throw on a casual dress of her own design. It was a simple, plain red with small straps that came to about her knees. It was very comfortable and barely restricted her movement. Perfect for a dorm party. The Autumn threw on some black flats, exited the dorm, and headed one door over to Dorm 407. Thankfully, the door was open and she walked straight in. The decorations were simple but fitting. Besides, everyone would be too drunk to notice the decor.

Glancing around, she was a little embarrassed to see she was the first to arrive. She fiddled with her hair, and walked over to the couch. Sitting beside Sarah, she gave her a quick smile. "Hey Sarah, it's been a while," the brunette spoke.

Harrison had just finished returning some books he had to the library and had headed to the dorm. 'Got to say for new years, this really isn't that exciting. Maybe there is something going on?' He had gone on his phone and had seen the post on Esper for a new years party. 'Dorm 407 huh' He was hesitant to go since, he was still new to the school and didn't know very many people there. Although he was hesitant he had still decided to go. He had put on something more formal than his usual white jacket and white pants so he had to go to his own dorm first. After taking a bit too long to decide he had gotten himself a white casual shirt. A type of shirt that was formal and casual since the Esper said absolutely nothing about attire and he did not want to act like a fool. He had gone over to the party Dorm 407 with a drink, and some alcohol. He had gone and saw that the design was simplistic but he had appreciated that they had tried. "Hey, is this where the party at" He had said this towards the few people who were there at the time, in a normal chilled out voice.

Joseph had heard about this New Year's party on Esper the other day, but he hadn't been particularly interested in showing up -- As per usual with parties. Too crowded, too noisy, too nonsensical. This afternoon, however, Kyou had approached him and asked him if he'd be interested in attending a New Year's party in one of the Autumn dorms. He hadn't had any good reason to reject her offer, so he'd simply replied with "Sure". It wasn't like he had anything important planned for New Year's, anyhow.. Aside from a Skype call from his mother, which he was not exactly opposed to skipping out on. Joseph wasn't overly fond of the idea of listening to his mother cry about her precious baby's absence and tearfully explain all of her New Year's resolutions to him for two hours. Her stupid resolutions never lasted for more than four days, anyway.

The door leading into Dorm #407 had been left ajar when he arrived, so he stepped through without knocking. Not too many people were present yet, which he was silently pleased with. No one was overly dressed-up, either. Joseph himself, though generally uncaring of his appearance, had at least worn a white dress-shirt for the occasion.. But had refused to leave his jeans behind. He spotted Kyou and two other people he'd never met sitting on the couches. He sauntered over to them and took the empty seat next to Kyou, settling a lean bottle of liquor next to him. "Hey," he murmured to no one in specific, and then looked to Sarah, who he assumed was the hostess. "Alcohol's okay here, right?"

Sarah smiled as the people arrived. "Hey Kyou!" she said. "Yup this is where the party's at and any drink is welcome. Just try not to destroy anything!" she told the other two, laughing slightly. She was glad that people were showing up, and hoped there'd be more.

Her room was too quiet. She was basically alone in her four bedroom place, but she couldn't use the other rooms. All three other bedrooms were locked due to lack of use, but at the same time it was pretty nice. Erin had the privacy not many others were able to get. She got the whole living room to herself with her television sitting next to the wall opposite the couch. However, tonight she had no plans and with it being around New Years, she was a little upset that she couldn't spend it with her family. She was sure they had a lot of fun on New Years. Actually, she was positive. They had called her and they talked for hours about how everything was going. After the call, things got lonely quick. However, it didn't take long for the redhead to hear the voices from down the hallway. Jumping off the couch, she skipped to her room and threw on something other than pajamas which happened to be a pink tank top and sweat pants topped with a gray cardigan that was sitting on the edge of her bed. Of course, she left shoes behind.

Poking her head out of her door, she looked down the hall just in time to find Joseph walking into room 407. They were the ones having the party right? With a smile on her face, she folded up in her cardigan, grabbed her key and skipped down the hallway as her door closed behind her. Peeking into the open room, she saw a few people already making themselves comfortable with drinks in hand. She wasn't exactly interested in the drinks, but the snacks were calling her name as well as the soda sitting on the table. She didn't recognize anyone here, but that didn't stop her. Folding her hands behind her back, she walked in full of wonder as she looked around at the decorations before her eyes landed on the group. "This is an open party, right?" she asked, already making her way to the couch to get comfortable.

Kyou turned her head at the sound of approaching footsteps. When Joseph came into her vision, her face lit up. "Hi Joseph!" she chirped as he took the seat beside her. Slightly embarrassed by her sudden enthusiasm, she quickly averted her gaze from Joseph's. A bottle of alcohol rested at his side, and the girl began to wonder if she should have brought some as well. Although she wasn't a fan of the burning liquid, she didn't want to be left as the only sober person present.

Glancing around, the Autumn wondered how large this party would be in the first place. It didn't seem like many students were here, but it was only the beginning, there was still time for it to grow. Kyou hoped it would. It was her first party at the school. Well, her first party ever.

Her brown eyes traveled back to Joseph. He wore his usual indifferent expression. Did he want to be here? Was it wrong of her to ask him to come? The brunette swallowed a lump in her throat. "So, how are you settling in? You're in the Winter house, right?" Good. Casual was good.

Joseph leaned back in his seat a little, resting one hand loosely around the neck of his bottle. "Settling in was easy. There's no one else in my dorm right now," he stated simply. "And yeah, I got sorted into the Winter house. No idea what significance that holds in regard to anything. As long as I have a quiet dorm, though, it doesn't really matter to me." He straightened himself when he noticed cups stacked on the table in front of him, and reached over to snatch of two of them up. After popping the cork out, he filled one up to quite an... Excessively full degree, and set it aside. He already drank a lot on a regular basis, but this was a special occasion. He realised with mild annoyance that this singular bottle wouldn't even come close to being enough for him. No matter. He had plenty more in his dorm. The Winter looked to Kyou, holding the second cup he'd grabbed towards her. "Do you drink?"

Having known no one in the party he had decided to talk to some of the few people who were there at the time. Having seen a red haired girl with green eyes enter to ask if this was an open party. 'Well there was literally nothing to say that it wasn't considering this was on Esper. ' "So I'm gusing this is your party?" He had thought that since this is a party he should try to talk to people. "Got to say it's pretty nice. Oh and I hope you don't mind me." He had talked in a nice calm demeanor to try and strike up a conversation. Although he had said this was nice, it was nowhere near as fancy as some of the parties he was forced to attend as a kid. Although he very much liked the scenery.

Kyou felt her heart lurched in excitement. Excitement? Why? Shouldn't she be feeling sorry for Joseph, having no one to lounge about his dorm with? Even though she despised one of dormmates, it was nice having something to keep her on her toes. Hopefully the Winter gained a roommate soon... Hopefully...

She looked at the cup with hesitation. Did she? She knew she had only just contemplated grabbing a drink for herself, but now she was struck with the real deal. A slight fear held her back from saying yes immediately, but curiosity and pressure to conform overpowered her fear. She gave him a soft nod, grabbing the cup and holding it out for him to fill. He had already filled a cup of his own, having it wait for him on the small coffee table in front of them. Her mouth was slightly agape at how much was exactly was in his cup. "Should you be drinking that much in one go?" she asked timidly, her brows knitted in concern.

Joseph took up the liquor bottle again. "This isn't even enough to get me buzzed," he murrmured as he poured the liquid into Kyou's cup. He stopped when the cup was at least half-full, and then put the bottle back in the centre of the table, as if signaling that anyone could have it. "One of the.. Perks of having regenerative capabilities is that I can't get drunk." The underlying irritation in his voice suggested that it was everything but a perk in regards to alcohol. "Maybe for a minute or so it's possible, but my metabolism is very fast. It takes a lot for me to get even a little tingle in my fingers." He brought the rim of the cup to his lips and tipped his head back. The Winter took a sizeable gulp of the liquor, relishing the faint burning feeling in his throat. He uttered a contented sigh and slumped back into the cushion.

Nothing.

No 'hey what's up' or 'glad you could come!' Was this was American parties were like? They only similarity Erin could pick out so far were the drinks. Even then, it was two people sitting off to the side talking about how much it takes to get drunk. For Erin, it didn't matter. Alcoholic drinks were basically part of everyday life back home. It certainly wasn't as expensive. Maybe that's why it was such a big deal in the States. At least, all of the students here always seemed to make a big deal out of it. Then there was the boy standing close to the couple trying to talk to them about the party but to no avail. Whatever.

Quickly swiping a bag of chips off of the table, the redhead plopped onto the couch and opened it up, pulling out several regular potato chips at one time before eating them individually. No one had answered her question or bothered to even notice her presence so she was going to assume that they didn't care. Of course, being a new student and not really one for the internet, she never realized her question was answered on social media. It was a time waster. She had better things to do outside of class.

"Great party," she said loudly through the crunch of chips in her mouth. She wasn't normally one to be blunt or rude for that matter, but she didn't like being ignored either.

Having heard someone someone loudly state their view on the party, made Harrison turn to face the person who said such a comment out of curiosity. He had seen that there was a girl there that had made the comment, a red haired and green eyed girl who had caught the attention of Harrison due to it's uniqueness. Although this was not something as uncommon as Harrison's own hair and eye colour, it was still enough for Harrison to take notice. Even though her appearance had gotten the attention of Harrison, he was still confused due to the fact he couldn't make out who exactly she was talking to. Having stopped talking to the person who had planned the party he had made his way over to this girl that was just there eating her chips.

"Really? I would say this is pretty decent." He had said the first part in a snide sarcastic tone not meaning to mock her but still calling her out on her use of great. This certainly could not hold a candle to the parties that he was forced to as a kid bit this was more low key. He had seen her grab more chips from her bag which then had made him do the same, trying to strike a conversation. Opening the bag he had he disliked the way conventional chips were, open the pack, reach in your hand, come out with chips and your hand would be greasy either from the pack or the chip itself. Despite his dislike he had still wanted the chip but did not want to touch the wall of the pack so he had used his gift to cut one of the sides turning the pack he had held more open like a plate. Being content with just getting his hands greasy due to the chip he had decided to talk to the girl again. "So, what brought you here?" Although this was an open party it was still interesting hearing what could have brought them here. 'Well then, whats your story?'

Sarah had been caught up in talking to Kyou and Joseph that she forgot to welcome the others. "Sorry about ignoring you! Just got a little distracted!" he said to Erin in a cheery tone.

Kyou nodded in understanding. It made sense. She was fascinated by biology and understood the normal regeneration process of different organs, it only made sense that his would regenerate faster. The alcohol wouldn't have any time to seep into his system without being flushed out within a few seconds.

She watched as Joseph expertly took a swig of his drink, and looked down at her own with a slight fear. She had only had a few sips of her caretakers' drinks whenever they would let the older children taste them, and each time it burned her throat severely. Now, she had her own mystery drink, and she was determined to finish it. The girl brought it to her lips, resisting the urge to scrunch up her nose in response to the smell, and took a sip. It took a lot of strength not to cough and gag at the taste. There was no way she could sip this through the night. It was either dump it in the plants, or chug the damned thing. Deciding on the latter, she took a deep breath and poured the entire cup down her throat.

She let out a small gasp after every last drop was gone, this time not able to hold back her coughing. It was only for a moment, but the burning sensation in her throat grew with each cough. Shaking her head violently, she looked back at the boy with big brown eyes. "Another," she stated and held out her cup. There was no doubt that within a few minutes, the Autumn would be piss drunk.

The next student to walk in was a strawberry-blonde initiate, carrying a rather large bottle of whiskey in one hand and a tall bottle of vodka in the other. He was ready for shots, and lots of them. Harvey had been scrolling through the school's social media site, looking for something to occupy his time. The words "New Years" and "Party" caught his attention. He already had a few drinks before leaving his dorm and making his way to the Autumn rooms. The open door and some noise directed him to the location, and he eagerly walked in. There weren't many students there yet, but enough that he wouldn't get bored. He threw himself onto one of the couches, eyeing the redhead beside him. He placed the vodka on the table, popped the cap off of the whiskey and took a drink, throwing his free arm across the back of the couch. "Nice place. I'm Harvey," he commented casually to everyone.
