The Causer of Pain meets the Other Causer of Pain [Coon]

Edward came out to the forest to think about the past few days. And to inject some more of the Velocity X. He wanted to be away from it all. In the past few days, he had hooked up with Ava and that was the cause for him coming out to the forest. He didn't expect to feel the way he felt about the girl. He shook his head, clearing his thoughts again. Out of his sweatshirt pocket, he pulled out an injection gun that had the Velocity X inside of it. He was just about to inject himself when he heard a noise from somewhere around him and was immediately on edge, but he didn't react physically. He remained still, but he listened for whoever or whatever was around. It was possible it could be one of Argona's Goons set out to kill him. Or it could just be a student or animal. He wasn't sure.

Rose was on her way out into the forest because she needed to get away from all the students. It was all just overwhelming, she was getting used to it, but it was going to be a while before she could deal with all of that for a long time. She walked past some trees, tucked in her arms was a car magazine. She really liked cars even though she didn't care for some of the pictures in them. She was learning about car parts and stuff from her dad before she left.

She got into a small clearing, she didn't even realize there was someone there, until she looked up, and saw someone. She was standing behind him. She opened her mouth to say something, then she realized, it was a guy, and she was alone with him. She took a step back her arms dropping the book in her hands, and her eyes widening with fear. She didn't make a sound or run away though. She was frozen in place.

Edward turned around at the noise of the books dropping. What he saw surprised him. It was only a very scared-looking girl. "Everything alright over there? Need any help with anything?" he asked the girl, not moving any closer. He tucked the serum back into his sweatshirt for now. He didn't want that getting around.

She stayed there frozen for a moment. She could deal with this, it's not like he meant her any harm did he? He wouldn't be like her old guardian or his friends, right? After the moment her thoughts came back to her to her. She scrambled to pick up her book, ignoring the fact that she noticed that he put something into his pocket. Oh god was that some drugs or something? She really needed to leave. "S-sorry for disturbing you!" It was clear there was panic in her voice. She mentally cursed at herself for stuttering. Her hands gripped tightly on her book. Why wasn't she going anywhere?

It was very obvious that the girl was terrified of him. "It's fine. You're not bothering me. It's public space." he told her, trying to reassure her it was alright. It was bad enough having people being afraid of him while he was in Argona's Goon Force let alone people here being afraid of him.

His words didn't really reassure her, her nervousness, and fear was still there. And due to her fear being there, her gift decided to activate. It was always hard to tell if her gift was active or not, like she thought she could feel something if it was, but she didn't truly know unless someone complained of a dull pain, or a lasting pain, or some type of pain, even though there was nothing going on with them. Right, public space.. Out of all the places in the forest she had to run into someone.. She looked away from him, her hands fumbling with the edges of her book. She started to move to go around him, to leave the boy to whatever he was doing. He wasn't going to harm her, at least it seemed that way for now.

Edward's hand twitched. A pain suddenly appeared in his wrist and he wasn't sure where it was coming from. Could it be a possible side-effect of Velocity X? Could this girl, as unbelievable as it seemed, be causing it? He couldn't be too sure, and asking the girl was out of the question. She was terrified enough. He thought it might be best for the girl to go on her way. It seemed it would be better for the both of them. Or maybe he should keep her here, to make sure it was or wasn't the girl causing his pain.

Once she was past him, and on the other side of the small clearing just about to disappear into the groove of trees ahead of her, her gift left him. He was too far out of range, it might have left something lingering for a moment, but it would only be a few seconds before the pain would be gone completely. She was about to disappear behind some trees when she tripped, and falling to the ground with some noise similar to a squeak. And because her hands were holding the book, and couldn't react fast enough her face hit the ground, cause a cut on her left check, and a cut just above her right eye. If he moved over to help her the pain would surely come back for him.

As the girl walked away, the pain subsided. So it was the girl. He sped over to the girl after she fell and immediately the pain returned. He stood over the girl with his arms crossed. "Care to tell me why you're causing me pain?" he asked.

She groaned in pain herself as she sat up off the floor of of the forest. She had to close her right eye to prevent blood from getting into it. It stung. She rubbed a hand over the cut over her eye, then froze at what he said. "A-am I?" She stuttered out, then she realized. He seemed pissed. Oh she made a mistake, and now he was going to hurt her, she looked away from him, waiting on something bad to happen.

Edward sighed as the girl cowered underneath herself. She obviously didn't know she was doing it. "I'm not going to hurt you. Get up." he told her.

He said he wasn't going to hurt her, but he had a commanding voice, and it made her flinch a tiny bit. She sniffed a bit trying to prevent herself from crying. She slowly pushed herself off the ground, and stood up. She was facing towards him but she didn't meet his gaze. She was still waiting on something bad to happen, or him to tell her to do something.. She shouldn't have come out here by herself.

Edward softened a bit when he noticed that the girl was about to cry. "Are you alright?" he asked her. "Do I need to take you to the infirmary?" The girl was small enough that he could easily pick her up and carry her to the infirmary if he needed to. The pain had returned to his wrist but he did his best to ignore it. He's had pains that had been plenty worse then what he was getting right now.

Rose shook her head. It hurt, but it wasn't anything she couldn't handle. No need for attention on a couple of cuts. She rubbed one of her hands across the cut on her left cheek, flinching at the stinging sensation it gave her. She did the same with the one above her eye, not flinching at this one. "S'alright.." She said softly. Once her mind realized there was no way out of the situation, her gift stopped, leaving the girl slightly fatigued. She swayed slightly, but quickly stopped herself.

The pain in the boys wrist went away as the girl swayed on his feet. "Are you sure you're alright?" he asked. She was clearly depleted of energy and was about to pass out. Her injuries didn't help the matter either.
