Lets go fly a dragon.

Edward continued to fall, his arms now to his sides as he looked down to ground then up to Pepper. He then looked forward and sighed. "I need to pay attention more. Mom always said I have the attention span of a goldfish." he said to himself as blue flames slowly lit around his arms in an attempt to turn them into wings. Suddenly, a loud thump noise could be heard. It wasn't the sound of a body crashing into the earth but the sound of a simple minded boy landing back first on the back of a dragon. Edward groaned in pain from the impact as the flames around his arms went away. Edward slowly sat up and tried to rub his back which was in pain.

Edward stopped his failed attempts at trying to rub his back and was just going to let his gift handle the bruises for him. Light blue flames engulfed his back as he used his regenerative abilities to replace the bruised tissue with a new one. Edward sighed in relief and crawled closer to Pepper's head with a grin. "Thanks! You really saved my butt back there."

Pepper gave a growl and rolled her eyes. You need to be more careful! She wanted to say. Now where were they? Oh yeah! Enjoying the view. Well, that moment was somewhat ruined so she decided to try something different. Looking Edward in the eyes, then to the lake, she hoped he got the message. Hold on! Cue HTTYD music. Taking a deep breath, she folded her wings, and pointed her head down. Falling towards the lake, she gave a happy roar. Falling, falling, now! Pepper's wings unfolded and tore through the wind. But instead of crashing into the lake below, she raced above the water. A smile on her muzzle, the white beast's feet skidded across the water splashing herself and Edward.

Edward grinned nervously from the ground as he got the message. He was then met by Pepper's gaze before she turned her head down towards the lake. "What, do you see fish down there or something?" he asked as he peeked his head over to look down at the lake. All of a sudden, Pepper had began to dive down towards the lake. Edward quickly clenched his hands to her while his feet flew in the air. He stuck his tongue out like a dog who was peeking his head out the window of a moving car and held on for dear life, expecting them to fly straight into the water.

They instead raced above the water which caused the boy to sigh in relief. He then felt water splash all over him from the water underneath and began to laugh as he held on. "This is so much better than flying myself!" he exclaimed as he looked down to her.

Pepper turned her head back to Edward. Of course it is! She honestly didn't know from experience but maybe flying on something instead of yourself was better but she still preferred flying on her own. She flew onward till the tree line was getting closer and closer. Flapping her wings even more than before she shot upwards, sending the tree's swaying back and forth from the wind. Straight towards the clouds, Pepper flew higher and higher, occasionally looking back to see if the boy was still hanging on. The white beast finally reached above cloud level and slowed her flying. Above the clouds was nothing more than empty air, the sun leaving a pink glow on the clouds. She flapped her wings steadily, and looked back to Edward. She had no idea if someone could see a dragon's smile but she was smiling on the inside.

Edward shouted in amusement as he held on tight to Pepper. Edward's eyes widened as he noticed that they were getting closer to the trees. "Umm, Pepper?" he said as he braced for impact, closing his eyes. Instead, Pepper flew up above the clouds. Edward slowly opened them to see that he was safe and began to chuckle a little as he gazed at the beautiful pink glow that the sun illuminated onto the clouds. Edward exchanged looks with Pepper with a big grin on his face.

He then let go of her, this time on purpose and dove below the clouds until we wasn't seeable. After a few minutes, a light blue glow could be seen coming from the clouds. Rising from within the clouds was Edward in his phoenix form, flapping his wings. He then stretched out his wings and flew right beside Pepper. Even though this form doubled Edward's size, he was still not taller than Pepper in her dragon form.

This is fun. She thought to herself. Pepper was finally relaxing until Edward did it again but this time on purpose. With a surprised growl, Pepper looked down to the falling student realizing what he was doing. Soon, the boy was in his phoenix form, flapping his wings next to her. The white dragon was somewhat larger than the phoenix but they could still have fun. Giving a playful growl, Pepper snapped her jaws playfully towards the blue bird.

Edward squinted at Pepper before making a light snicker like noise before facing forward. "Now, it's time for me to stretch my wings!" he said as he folded his wings back to go faster. He is still able to speak in this form but chooses not to a majority of the time and would rather make loud screeching noises to imitate a phoenix. Edward then screeched as he flew upwards doing a few three sixty spins to show off.

The dragon watched the phoenix twirl around in a fury of blue fire. To anyone from the ground, it would've looked like a giant ball of fire but she was able to see his tricks. Showing off, eh? Being a dragon was pretty epic, but she still hadn't figured out how to change the fire or species. Guess there's not much to really show off... Pepper thought glumly. Actually... No, it wouldn't work. Wait, would it? Watching the blue fire bird, she wondered: what if she could change the color of her fire? Or the style of it? It would most likely not work, but it wouldn't hurt to try, right?

(sorry for not a lot to work with, this is kinda a filler post so I can post something more the next time)

Edward snickered a little as he flew back to Pepper's side. He flapped his wings a few times before stretching them out so that he could glide on the wind. He let out another screech before looking towards Pepper to see if she will do anything.

Well, she had enough time to think about it and decided trying to make her power evolve was something to do on her own time. She wouldn't want to put Edward or anyone else's life in danger, so she would just have to use what she had. Keeping a steady beat while flapping her wings, she got ready. 3...2...1... Pepper raised her head towards the sky and let out a huge puff of fire that soon turned into a doughnut shape. Giving herself a strong boost, the white beast twisted her wings around around her body and flew through the ring of fire. Gracefully, she did a 360-ish turn and continued to flap her wings, giving an exciting roar, and a "smile" to the phoenix.

The phoenix's eyes widened from the sudden display that Pepper did. He screeched in amusement as he attempted to fly around Pepper, happily. He unfortunately got himself dizzy and began to flap his wings erratically, before suddenly turning back to normal. He found himself yet again falling towards the earth with swirly anime eyes. "Oh, so many circles... he said rather distantly as he continued free falling. Edward can be unbelievably clumsy at times. If it wasn't for his gift he would've been long dead by now.

Pepper could tell something was up when the phoenix started to look dizzy and soon enough, he was falling. Here we go again. She rolled her eyes and dove down again, this time grabbing the boy by the collar of his shirt and holding him like a lioness holding her cub. The giant dragon flew slowly down to the ground and placed Edward on the ground.
