| Green hair. Green hair. Farkas hated himself for it, even if he had no control over it. He always asked why his hair was this way. It was always the same reply.
"It's because of your gift," his mother would say. Once he was old enough, he somewhat understood the circumstances. He could generate plants after all. The chlorophyll he generated in the plants somehow seeped itself into his system, only effecting his hair colour for some odd reason. From the scratch, half-burnt photos he still had from his childhood, it didn't seem like this colour change hadn't happened until around his fourth birthday.
The Hungarian always wondered where his gift came from. His mother didn't have one, his grandparents didn't have any, his great-grandparents didn't have any. The only explanation was his estranged father. Farkas' mother refused to speak about him, changing the conversation towards the 'pain' she suddenly felt in her back. The only thing he knew was his name: Kiss. Strange, to a American, but everyday life for the new student. His late grandfather knew his father, apparently liking him enough to force the boy's mother to give her son his name. He could see the resentment in her eyes any time his full name was uttered, but as usual, he ignored it.
The green-haired boy gripped the bag over his shoulder tightly as he looked upon the large buildings. It was nothing like home. He gulped loudly as the cab drove away, leaving him alone with his thoughts. The young European was intimidated by the size alone, but the thought of being in a strange country with a strange language, and going to an extremely strange school made his legs turn to jelly the instant his eyes set sight on the main building. Farkas was surprised him and his mother managed to make it far in the first place. Him and his mother came from a small town, lived in a run down apartment, and with his sudden crippling of his dear mother, their income dropped significantly. The boy had to work from the moment he finished school till the moment he went to bed. He didn't mind though. There was something uplifting about helping others without asking for anything in return. He had heard of Beata some time, years ago, but he knew there was no way he could move to the United States while living in that situation.
It wasn't until a stream of events that appeared suddenly that they even considered moving away. The death of an obscure relative. A large inheritance. A bought of good health for his wheelchair bound mother. Knowing Farkas dreamed of attending Beata, the pair packed up and headed off to North America.
Finding something in him that pushed him forward, the blue-grey eyed initiate slowly made his way towards the building. A large fountain sat in the pathway, reminding him of the local park near his old home. He sighed and took a seat on the edge, staring at the still, muddy water. It was turned off, most likely due to the brisk air. Reaching into the pocket of his puffy, black vest, he pulled out a few small, pastel-coloured flower heads and began placing them gently in the water. They floated softly away from him, leaving him to watch with a smile. He was completely absorbed with the scene, that he wouldn't notice even the loudest footsteps approaching.

| Life was pretty dull at the moment. Valentines day had past and the school was back to normal. Well, except all of the preparations for the capture the flag game. Unfortunately, he wasn't going to participate. Not like I could help anyway. His gift wasn't the most powerful gift, unlike his sister and he was a lover, not a fighter. Finishing all his homework, he ventured to the courtyard, enjoying the day with blue jay friend. For a while, they chatted about Beata, causally strolling along.
Louis gave a shiver, the cold weather nipping at his nose. The weather had been gloomy for quite some time and that Summer wondered when Spring would finally begin. Most of the animals around this area were tucked away in their warm burrows or hibernating. At least the birds were starting to sing their morning songs again. The blue jay he was talking with fluttered away to grab some food and Louis walked towards the entrance, no reason in particular. Humming a little tune, the cheery student reached the front, his hands in his pockets. A new person? Spotting a new student next to the fountain, he tilted his head. Might as well say hello. Making sure he wouldn't spook the person, he walked up to the side rather than behind. "Hello, are you new here?" The tall student asked, his usual soft smile across his face.

| Even if he had approached from a visible side, Farkas was too focused on his flowers to notice the other boy. Hearing a voice startled him from his concentration, making him jump in his seat. Hoping onto his feet, Farkas looked down for a moment, use to looking down to talk to people. His blue-grey eyes traveled up to meet Louis. It was surprising, finding someone who stood his height. He opened his mouth to reply, but the one word he knew too well was stuck in his throat. The boy visible shook in his place, reaching back to grab his long, green ponytail and stroke it to calm his nerves.
Small flowers began to appear in his hair, and tiny green leaves began falling out of his sleeves and pockets. His power always activated when he was nervous. Which was almost always. It was very uncommon to talk to the European and not have a leaf or two blow in your face. Farkas looked down to the ground, wiping away the flowers in his hair as he brushed it. "H-H-Hel-Hello," he mumbled in response. He mentally slapped himself for being so shy. He would never make friends at this rate.

| How could he blame this guy for being so shy? Besides, he remembered his first day here as well. "No need to be afraid. I'm Louis." He said calmly. "Sorry if I scared you." It was an honest mistake, one that would make anyone jump. Noticing flowers grow in the boys hair, his smile grew even wider. "Is that your gift? It's pretty cool." He chuckled. The best way to earn someone's trust was to boost their confidence. | |

| Louis' words came out so quickly and smoothly than the initiate had a hard time keeping up. The other boy was quiet, something he liked, and held a friendly tone in his voice. It calmed Farkas down somewhat, but there was still the matter of replying. The word cool stuck out. Flipping through an imaginary dictionary in his head, he tried to find that word. He knew it, he was sure. American kids used it almost daily, so of course he should know it. Cool... Cool... Aha!
"Ah, yes, outside is cool." Hopefully he got the message through right. He put up a weak smile.

| Louis kept on smiling, determined to make this student more comfortable at the big school. Breaking the silence, he gave a light whistle. Soon, his blue bird friend came fluttering down from the trees and landed on his shoulder. "This is Blue." He introduced the boy and the bird. "The name suits him well, doesn't it?" It was an ordinary name, but the little bird insisted if Louis call him anything, he call him Blue. The little bird gave a few happy chirps and took a little bow. | |

| Rose was on her way to the office which was at the entrance of the school. She hadn't run into any students that wanted to start a conversation with her, and any time she came across another student she would avoid them, but she never looked to suspicious about it. Many years of avoiding people, and staying out of trouble helped her with this situation. When she turned the corner she saw two students.. two male students... oh no.. Rose completely froze. She wouldn't be able to go by without them noticing, and now they would surely notice the weird girl fumbling with her sweater unable to move.. God. Curse her fear of people.. | |

| Farkas was nearly screaming in his mind. Why was English so hard? By now he was sure he was sweating profusely. Vines started wrapping their way up his limbs, thankfully hidden by his long sleeved shirt and khaki pants. He continued to fumble with his hair, trying to figure out what Louis had just said. It obviously had to do with that little bluebird on his shoulder.
As he opened his mouth to explain how he lacked the ability to speak the foreign language, another figure turned the corner and froze in front of them. The green-haired boy mirrored the action, staring at the newcomer with wide eyes. A-A g-girl! His face flushed bright red at the sight of the cute girl. She had brown hair barely passing her shoulders, and brown eyes to match. She stood almost a foot shorter than him and seemed rather intimidated by the pair of tall students. God, she was cute. Especially the way she played with her sweater, obviously as nervous by their presence as he was.
Farkas made a few, incoherent sounds before bending down so his chest was parallel to the ground. "Örülök, hogy megismertelek!" he shouted in his language, staring intently at the walkway.

| Louis turned to the girl that appeared before the two of them. "He---" He started to say but the shy boy shouted something. A different language? Louis looked to the green haired boy and couldn't help but give a chuckle. "Well why didn't you just say so?" He laughed. "Örülök, hogy találkoztunk, én Louis." Please let that be a correct sentence. It just so happened to be, that one of his older brothers took a trip to Hungary when Louis was little, and the blonde was determined to learn the exotic language. It'd been a while since he'd gone over the language and he thought he'd never use it. But in the end, all that work was clearly worth it! | |

| Oh crap both of them noticed her.. Why? Why couldn't they just ignore her, and let her continue on her way.. Her hands tucked nervously on her sweater some more. She couldn't quite understand the two, and she wasn't going to go closer with her being scared of people, and them both being guys just made it worse. One arm fell to her side while the other crossed her stomach to get at the sleeve on the other arm. What were they saying, was the green haired boy even talking to her? "Hi..." She said loud enough for them to hear, but her voice quickly faded. She felt slightly proud that she didn't stutter, but it was bound to happen at some point.. | |

| Farkas slowly lifted his head, his body shaking from the sheer nervousness. He glanced up at Louis just in time to hear him speak in his native language. It sent a wave of comfort down his spine, letting him relax his stance slightly. Although he still shook from the presence of the girl, he didn't have the added bonus of dealing with a stranger whom he couldn't understand anymore.
Although his speak was somewhat forced, and he could easily point out mistakes, it was a coherent sentence. It was rather well spoken, for a foreigner.
"Beszél magyarul? Louis?" he asked, cocking his head slightly. The flowers had stopped growing completely, his hair tangled and covered in their colourful mess. Hopefully he wouldn't be left alone, struggling to learn the language he was required to know as he made his way through the school year. Maybe Louis could be his translator! Assuming he was fluent in Hungarian.
The green-haired initiate nearly squealed as the girl spoke up. He had almost forgotten about her presence in the comfort of his home language. He wasn't shocked by her voice. It fit her perfectly. Just as soft and cute as she looked. He clasped his hands together in front of him, fidgeting a little as he tried to find something to say.
"O-Outside is c-c-cool, yes?"

| "Igen , megtanultam magyarul." He replied softly. "A bátyám, vett egy utat Magyarország és úgy döntöttem, hogy érezd, hogy egy új nyelvet tanulni." That's probably a hot mess, idek anymore. He hoped what he said was somewhat correct, his Hungarian was most likely a bit rusty. Besides, it was an interesting language that took a lot of time and effort to learn so it wasn't like he was a pro when speaking it. Remembering there was another person hanging around, Louis turned to the girl. "Hello, sorry. I'm Louis, nice to meet you." Just then, the new student spoke up. Good for him. The tall blonde could tell the green haired boy found something worth speaking up about in the girl and that made him happy. | |

| It didn't seem they were paying any attention to her which was a good thing.. that was until she spoke up. When she did they both turned their attention towards her, and now she was unsure again. She wanted to duck into her sweater and hide, or rush past them. She didn't know if she could deal with this. She looked at Farkas and nodded in response to his question. "Yes.." She didn't know what language they were speaking, and so she decided to stick with simple words around the new kid. She looked back over to Louis as he introduced himself. "Rose... M-my name is Rose..." Ah there was the stuttered. She cursed at herself for letting it happen, even though she knew it was bound to happen eventually. | |
