Springtime [open]

Blue skies, warm air, and it was already past seven. She still hadn't adjusted to daylight savings, but she had to admit that it was nice to be able to enjoy the weather like this. Evelyn had almost started to forget what this was like. She traced her fingers along the railing, pacing along the edge of the rooftop, staring out over campus. Trees rustled in the light breeze, casting dappled shadows against the grass that rippled and danced with the leaves. The sky was a dimming blue as the sun began to sink in the sky, clear except for a wisp of white cloud. Clusters of daisies and buttercups had begun to pop up over the school lawns, filling campus with a new color. The warmth in the air, perfumed with the scent of flowers, made her want to roll around in the grass, but she had to shake off that feeling... Even if she was almost invisible to just about everyone, she'd still feel like an idiot.

Evelyn paused and leaned against the railing, drinking in the spring air. She was wearing a light blue sundress, patterned with red roses. It was nice to be able to dress like this for the first time in months.

The only thing that took away from this moment was the dagger in her hands. She held it out in front of her, turning it in the light, and ran her thumb lightly over the blade.

It really is pretty...

Will had been wandering the campus, familiarizing himself with all the locations so he knew where he was going. He opened the door that led to the rooftop. He saw nothing out of the ordinary, but found it hard to focus on a certain spot on the railing. He found it strange, but he didn't question it much. He walked over to the railing, only a few feet from Evelyn, who was still unknown to him. The beginnings of the sunset looked absolutely gorgeous. He loved watching sunsets back home. It was just about the most interesting thing he could do. Connecticut was just so boring to him. He was glad he got away from there, even though he missed his dad a lot. He got lost in thought as he stared at the beautiful skies, letting the slight breeze ruffle his hair and making his jacket billow slightly.

Of course, there was someone else. She would've been lucky to get this place all to herself on a day like this, so it was only expected. Evelyn pulled the knife close to her chest, watching the other boy out of the corner of her eye as he stood a few short feet away. Blond hair, green eyes. He hadn't noticed her yet. It wasn't polite, but she found herself staring, absorbing in every detail of his face. Staring at someone like this was like observing them from the other side of a mirror. They might as well have been on different planes, different rooftops. She was invisible. In every conversation, her eyes were always glued to the ground, so she wasn't used to just looking at someone like this.

Without thinking, she pressed her thumb against the blade, and it slipped. She jumped at the sudden sharp pain in her finger and stepped back, letting the knife clatter against the ground. Evelyn grasped at the base of her thumb as blood welled up from the cut, and then spilled down her finger. "Ah..." She sucked in her breath through her teeth, chewing on her bottom lip. Stupidstupidstupid...

Destiny was walking in the hallway on her way to do something of some sort when she saw a student take the stair well to the roof. Ever since her... well.. her thing on the rooftop a good many months ago she would always check the rooftop occasionally. She knew that students went up there from time to time to watch the sunset or something, but she still felt better if she checked. The white-haired necromancer wandered to the stairwell and began the journey up the steps.

As soon as she reached the top she opened the door quietly, and looked out. She just saw that the boy was watching the sunset, and she was about to leave when she heard something clatter to the ground. She walked out fully onto the roof with a confused look on her face. "What was that?" She asked curiously not really noticing the place she couldn't exactly look at because of a certain person sitting there. From her point of view all she saw was the boy.

He was surprised the Knife girl didn't see him from the little nook he sat between the large doorway and the piece of railing at the other end of the rooftop.  Fearghas had been sitting there for a good couple of hours, catching some Z's and getting some fresh air.  

He awoke when he heard the door open and close and the girl step up holding something in her hands.  He pulled himself up a bit and raised an eyebrow at the physique of the girl, she wasn't bad looking and he took in the details of her face.  She seemed distressed as she looked at what was in her hands.  He pulled his sleeve up and looked at his watch when he heard the knife clang to the ground.  

He had no idea why she had a dagger but that was enough he needed to know.  He pushed down on the ground with his palms and stood up with a look of confusion on his face as he called out in his distinctive accent "Hey!  Ya alright?"

William heard a gasp of pain and a knife clattering to the floor but didn't see anyone arrive. He looked to where the knife had dropped and a girl had manifested in the spot where he previously couldn't focus on. "Where did you come from?" he asked her, before two students had appeared. "She pricked her finger it looks like." he told the white-haired girl. He turned his attention back to the girl next to him. How had she just appeared in the spot where he couldn't focus? A revelation hit him. It probably had something to do with the girl's gift. He kept forgetting that there were untold numbers of gifts in the world.

She went from a ghost to all eyes being on her. Evelyn's eyes darted from the first boy, to the other, to the girl with strange white hair, and to the boy again. Her eyes dropped to her hand, where a light trickle of blood was making its way down to her wrist. Oh... The knife was laying on the concrete, shining with the reflected sunlight. "Um... I, uh... I've... b-b-been here..." All the sudden attention felt like it was crushing her from all sides, and her stomach was doing somersaults. She could've wilted right there, under their gazes. Way to go, idiot.

Evelyn looked up and flashed them a tremulous, fleeting smile, but it wavered and faded as she dropped her gaze back down to the ground, loosely holding her injured thumb in her free hand. "Sssorry, i-it's n-not a... big deal..."

Destiny looked at the three others curiously. Two of them appeared out of no where it seemed. Well one of them was hiding the other seriously appeared out of no where. "What's going on?" Destiny still couldn't see the knife from her position. Destiny moved closer just in time to hear the girl speak. Oh she had been there? Maybe it was her gift then. Due to her closer position she saw the knife. "What do you have that for?" She asked. She just wanted to know, she wasn't going to get the girl in trouble.

Fearghas just watched, confused as all Hell.  There was no one up here when he began to doze off, and now there was a girl who just cut herself, some chick with white hair and another boy.  He scanned everybody, remaining silent as he wondered why the girl had a knife and what brought the three other people up here...  He shook himself awake for a second as he pushed his palms against the ground and pushed himself up onto his feet.  He stretched out as he looked upon the stuttering girl, then the girl with the white hair who spoke up, what a scene to wake up to.  He kept his left foot on the ground as he leaned his shoulder on the wall to his left and kept quiet for the nervous girl to answer.

The girl obviously wasn't used to this kind of attention. He figured the three of them were making the injured girl very nervous. But he decided to ask what Destiny had. "Yeah, why do you have a knife? Expecting someone to attack you?" he asked, giving her a goofy smile. He liked to joke with people, even if he didn't really know them.
