After months of trying and training, she was still stuck in her state of heat vision and at this point, Sydney had basically given up on seeing colors ever again. Their uniforms were a life-saver, all the same colors, no danger of mis-matching anything. No risks could be taken with appearance.
The young student wandered down the hall, wearing a powerful pair of sunglasses so as to block out the awful brightness of other students' hearts. Most of everything was rather dim, except for the windows, warmed brightly by the sun. A patch of warmth of the cold wall caught her attention. Sydney approached it curiously, but spat in annoyance. She'd hoped it was something interesting, however it was just the shape of a hand. Someone'd just put it up. A stupid, mundane poster. She squinted at it, wanting to at least know what it said, when something began to happen. The poster's corner began to glow brightly, then let out a sudden wave of heat. It wasn't very strong, but it was alarming to say the least.
"What the f- oh shit," she Summer yelped, having reached out her finger to touch it and got burned. Had she.. set it on fire? It was cool, but she needed to put it out somehow. "Um." The poster was going up in flames. There was a bathroom nearby, but what was she supposed to do? Carry the water in her hands? What if she made it boil? "Um."
