One...Two...Three...Four....Five...Six...Seven

The hologram screen before Michelle fizzled out as she slumped into the chair she was in, tired out by even those few seconds of having her gift active. The buzzing that had filled her head settled into a steady hum as she allowed herself to fall forward and lay across the table she was seated at. She gasped for breath, quickly reclaiming it as she pushed a hand though the mess of curls that was her hair. That...Wasn't bad, she supposed. She hadn't tried to filter out any of the data on that try, so seven seconds seemed rather reasonable. Sure, she could of held out longer but that brought upon the chance of risk, and she wanted to avoid that.

Michelle reached forward and grabbed one of the books in front of her, flipping it open as she started to read it. Now, she hadn't come to the library to read, instead simply to test out her gift in a quiet location. But hey, having books to read while she regathered her energy was a bonus on her count. As usually, her headphones sat on her head even thought they weren't even plug into anything - she simply preferred the feeling of them being there. She paused halfway though the first page of the book, frowning as she closed it and stared at the cover. What was she reading anyways? 'The History of Gifts' sat on the cover in a fancy font, causing her to raise an eyebrow before shrugging and flipped the book back open. Finding her spot, she continued reading. This could be a rather interesting book.

Gabriel enjoyed the library; no one really bothered him there and his gift is connected with books. The ease and speed with which he can read them makes it so he doesn't even have to bother getting a library card or checking books out. But, he still likes the atmosphere enough to spend much of his time there, among the shelves, trying to improve his skill.

And here he was, shuffling through the shelves. Gabriel regretted not signing up for the tournament; it would've been an interesting way to shake up his daily life at the school. Yet here he was, stacking various informational texts in his hands. He wanted to find some information about the school and the history of powers. It would've probably been easier to just google the information, but that would take much longer.

Emerging from the shelves, his ice blue eyes scanned the immediate area for a place to sit and study. Many of the tables had students sitting at them and he didn't want to bother walking around and around the library to find an empty table. Thus, he walked up to the nearest table, one with a blonde student sitting at it. She seemed quite occupied, reading with her earbuds in.

"Mind if I sit here?" Normally, he would've just taken the seat, but something in the back of his head nags him to be polite today, and he complies. He just hopes she can hear him with her earbuds in; otherwise his standing there would be quite embarrassing.

Michelle blinked at the sound of a muffled voice, glancing up from her reading to see a blonde boy standing near her. She brushed the headphones from her head and down to around her neck as she gave him a soft smile. She still wasn't the fondest of people, but she had learn that company was helpful every once in a while. "Sure, go ahead," she said with a wave of her hand before finding her place once more in her book and went back to reading.

Glad that the student had heard him, Gabriel sat in the chair across from her and stacked his books neatly on the table. He glanced at the titles and shifted them into the order he wanted to read them in. There were five books in all and he wasn't sure if he'd be able to get through them all without a headache; he'd have to go slower, and probably take a few short breaks.

Gabriel picked up the first book on the pile and set it down in front of him. He grabbed about half of the pages of the book in his hand and flipped them lazily, the words from the pages filling his head quickly. After a few seconds, he was finished with the chunk of pages and had plenty of information in his head to ponder and sort through.

He was staring at the table, rooting out the information he didn't want in his head when his blue eyes wandered over to see the page of the book the girl across from him was reading. It took him a moment, but after looking at a few sentences, he realized the book was about gifts. Gabriel's eyes flickered up to the girl and he decided that perhaps he should strike up a conversation.

"What're you reading?" He asked, wondering if she was interested in the subject as well or if she was just doing research for a project.

Michelle was startled when the boy across from her spoke up, almost dropping the book but quickly collecting herself and look up at him. "Oh. I'm reading the History of Gifts. I was more of a random read but...Its pretty interesting." She paused as she glanced down at the page. "Seeing how nobody is really sure how gifts came about." She gave a soft shrug, leaning back in her chair as she raised her gaze to him once more. "I do find it weird how some of our gifts interact with things that weren't always around. Such as those with a technological gift such as myself."

Gabriel listened intently as the girl across from him spoke. He was right, she was also reading about the history of gifts. There must be a lot of resources for the history of gifts in this library.

"Yeah, the variation can be very interesting. You have a technological gift? What is it?" His brow furrowed; he had never seen someone with a technological gift before.

He can't help but wonder what exactly this student's gift is and how it relates to technology. Gabriel set down the book in his hands and watched the girl. Perhaps she would demonstrate her gift or maybe she couldn't do it at the moment. Either way, he can't wait to find out what her gift is.
