Test Subject Tumble [MISSION]

The flight was long, but Connor had many things to keep him occupied during the flight. Towards the end he ended up falling asleep, until the turbulence woke him up again. By then they were close to landing so it didn't matter. The team left the airport and quickly arrived at the hotel which provided four beds for the students and guardian.

Connor threw his black duffel bag to the floor and jumped onto his bed. As soon as his head hit the pillow he was out, and before he knew it the sun was already shinning through the curtains. The winter student shuffled through his bag and pulled out his clothes. A yawn escaped his lips as he reached for his steel jo staff. His eyes glided around the room, the others would be waking up soon.

Matthew awoke to hearing quiet noises from across the room. Opening his eyes, he pulling his head away from his pillow and looked. He noticed that Connor was the only one awake right now. "G'morning." he said tiredly as he stumbled across the floor, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He stretched as he got to the small kitchen, where he noticed that the fridge had the basics for a good breakfast. Time to put his cooking "skills" to work. He could make some pretty good scrambled eggs. Rubbing his hands together, he got out butter and eggs from the fridge. From the cabinets he grabbed some salt, pepper, a whisk, and a small cup. Pulling out a frying pan, he turned the stove top on and waited for the heating pad to get hot. Once satisfied with the heat, he put some butter in the pan and watched it melt. Cracking a few eggs into the cup, he stirred it until it was mixed properly. He poured the mixed eggs into the pan and the sizzle of the pan made him smile. He put a few pinches of both salt and pepper into the pan and stirred with the whisk a bit more. Soon the smell of cooking eggs spread through the room. People would be waking up soon. He put a bit of the now finished scrambled eggs onto a few plates that he had gotten out and waited for everyone to get up and get their plates.

The only thing that woke up the guardian was the smell of cooking food. He was glad that he didn't have to open his eyes to the sound of an alarm but he wasn't quite ready for the day that they had ahead of them. This was going to be hard but at least one of them knew how to cook. Even still, it took forever for Richard to get out of bed. He had never been a morning person and today was no different. Sitting up groggily, he rubbed his eyes and yawned loudly. "Morning..." he grumbled, trying to force himself awake. It wasn't working but it was worth a shot. "Who's making breakfast? Hope there's enough for me." He was only half serious. He really wanted whatever it was that was cooking but he didn't want to make it sound like whoever it was had to make him something. With a heavy sigh, he stood up out of bed, slowly getting ready to go for the day. He wasn't really prepared for this, but oh well. It was too late now.

Hunter shot up at the smell of food. He licked his lips excitedly as he bounced out of bed, an aura of giddiness surrounding him. "You guys better believe it'll all be gone in about 10 seconds!" he shouted, grabbing a plate and scarfing it down. He made an awkward sound of bliss, exaggerating his expression. "I never get food like this, mostly because I can't cook. At all." The redhead wiped his mouth on his sleeve and dropped his plate in the dishwasher. "So when are we getting going? We probably shouldn't hang out here when we have stuff to get done."

Connor quickly slipped on a new shirt and joined the boys at the table. The food smelt amazing, at least one of them had decent cooking skills. "Thanks for the food." To his surprise the eggs actually tasted wonderful, he expected a bland dry egg, but that was definitely not what he got. Once he was done he rinsed off the plate and put it in the dishwasher. His attention was returned to his bed which he placed everything he would need for the day. Connor glanced at Hunter who was anxious to leave, both students looked expectantly for an answer to his question.

"Trust me, there's plenty for all." he said, handing Richard his plate. He did a mock salute at Connor as a way of saying thank you while he turned to Hunter. "We'll be going as soon as everyone's ready to go, and after we've cleaned everything up. We most likely won't be back here. This mission should be a quick ordeal. But since our chaperone Richard is here, he's the one who's technically the leader." he said.

OOC: I'd just say something about heading to the research facility or something, I'll take back the reigns from there cx

Sitting down, Richard gladly accepted the plate, almost scarfing down his food. It was a lot better than what he ate at home considering he didn't cook much. When he was finished eating, the guardian put his plate away and let out a relaxed sigh even though he was getting pretty nervous about what lied ahead. "If you guys are ready now, then let's head out. The sooner we get this done, the better," he told them, grabbing what he needed and shoving it into his pockets. He stood up from his chair and walked toward the door, holding it open for the others as they walked out and headed for the facility.

Hunter nodded affirmatively and got up. He prepared himself, doing a last minute few things and hustling himself out the door. He felt nervous for this mission. His instincts were telling him to jump out the car door and run like hell, but that wasn't an option. He just sat quietly, admiring the view outside the window and tapping his fingers. The twist in his gut wrapped around more when the car suddenly and parked. He swallowed and looked at the other guys, waiting for instruction. He looked paler than usual.

After breakfast Connor strolled on back to his bed. He strapped on his staff holder and clipped the staff to his back. From there he shoved multiple metal balls into the pouch on the holder. The winter student sat on his bed and slipped his shoes on. He turned around and faced the other boys, "Alright let's head out then." He smiled and headed towards the door behind Hunter.

The car ride was nerve racking. Not much was said as to what they were going to be doing on this mission, but it was supposed to be quick and simple. The car finally rolled to a stop and the only thing left was for them to get out and proceed with the mission. Connor glanced at Hunter and punched him playfully on the arm, "Don't sweat it. We'll do fine." He gave the boy a friendly smile and put his hands on the strap that went across his chest.

He nodded as he got out of the car. "Yeah, this'll be a piece of cake. Maybe after we can get some cake, eh?" he said, trying to lighten the mood. In his mind, he couldn't help but be nervous, however. Sure, this wasn't his first mission, but the last mission had been with Sophia, a close friend. This mission was with near strangers. Plus, his last mission was simple. Get in, rescue Dimitris, get out. This mission was more complicated. Sneak into the research facility, rescue the test subjects, and try not to get captured or killed.

"I'll tell you what: if we can get in and out of here with little to no trouble, I'll buy all of the cake that you guys want. Sound fair?" Richard asked, glancing between the three of them as they all climbed out of the car. He would certainly be lying if he said he wasn't nervous. However, he knew his power would make this a little bit easier. There was no way he was just going to sit back and let the three of them do this by himself. He knew that he had the title of chaperone, but this was too big of a job just to play supervisor. "Now let's get moving."

"Cake. Sounds good." His fingertips grazed the knives up his sleeves, and with a sharp intake of breath, he followed after Richard. He thought about his technique in his head, but he couldn't focus enough to form a complete thought. He shook his head and listened to his heart thump in his throat.

Connor strolled behind the other boys, the mission would be starting soon and it would only be a matter of time before they had to put their skills to use. Green eyes looked up at Matthew in amusement, "Cake sounds good." A small chuckle escaping his throat as he thought of all of them at a diner super late enjoying a piece of cake. He would probably get vanilla with a light frosting. His mouth watered as he began to think about food. Sure, they just ate, but a growing boy liked his food. Connor's mind snapped back into focus as Richard started to lead the way.

Matthew followed his way behind Richard, digging into his pockets and grabbing his metal balls. Making his arms the same metal, he sighed with relief. He was always safer when his arms were metal. It made him feel like he could attack and defend with good skill, although he didn't really like to fight anyone.

OOC: alright so just to clear some stuff up, their hotel was pretty far away. It took quite some time to get to the lab so it is after closing time for the lab. It's very dark and like the thing said, they just gotta get in and out as quick as possible.

With a deep breath, the guardian studied the huge building in front of them. Most of it was made of glass and looked like a modern art sculpture. Even though it was gorgeous to look at, it was terrifying. He knew the secrets behind those big doors and security cameras. He wasn't sure if he was quite ready but they had to do this. Turning back to his little team, he started making a game plan. "So here's the deal. We have this huge building and it's covered in security cameras. But there's one door on the back left side that is sitting in a blind spot. There's not much room over there so we're going to have to get a little dirty to reach it but once we're there, I'm going to get inside and unlock the door to avoid setting off the alarms. Once we're in, we have to make our way into the basement. The floor is... B5 if I remember correctly," he said before pulling out his phone for a second, double checking the details. "Yeah. At this point, stairwells are going to be our best friend. Elevators have cameras. Now, we're not going to be able to avoid every single camera so take these. Join the stereotype." With a bit of a chuckle, Richard reached into his small bag that he brought and pulled out a bunch of ski masks. They weren't entirely black but it was funny nonetheless considering what they were about to pull off. "Don't be afraid to use your abilities. Who knows what we might come across in here and if we need a quick escape, your power will be your only defense. Now follow me." With that, he turned back around and headed towards the building, maneuvering around the lawn trying to avoid detection. When he finally reached the back door, it took him barely any time to phase through it and get the key. With a small click, the door opened quietly. "Come on."
