Fumbling Fingers [Open]

Hunter pushed the door open and looked around the abandoned studio. A rusted-looking guitar sat in a shadowed corner, and the boy looked at it sympathetically. The old thing was busted pretty bad and a thin coat of dust covered it. It looked like it had been abandoned for years. He looked up at the rest of the room. A couple old vinyl records sat on a table, their covers faded with age. Stringed instruments leaned against one wall, band instruments in their cases on the other... Then he saw a piano in the center of the room. 

He ran his fingers across the shiny black instrument and crossed to the seat. He remembered his dad once directing his fingers. It was just an old nursery rhyme, but he was so proud of himself. He sat down and tapped the middle key. The sound rang in his ears for a second before he nodded to himself and poked more keys. 

C, D, E, C, D, E... He rapped the notes with three fingers, amusing himself. He looked up at the sheet music that someone had left behind. It was simple enough, and he slowly tapped the keys, slowly learning the song...

Soon, he was playing it gingerly, stuttering a bit in between notes, but he was playing it. He smiled and hummed along to the tune. He was lost in the song, no other noise penetrated his mind. He loved the way it felt deep inside him. It resonated within him, and though it was a wordless tune, it spoke numbers to him.
