Tennis shoes scuffed against the concrete, sliding to a stop. The girl was still for a long moment, contemplating a lie. Gwyn did not know these kids, and despite them not freaking out as she half leaped--half swung over their heads... Okay, color her curious. With brows furrowed, she turned her head to the side--looking over the pale haired girl with cautious eyes. "And what if I am?" Her eyes didn't linger long on Brailynn, they landed on the man who had shot and killed Blake.

She took a step back.

The young woman darted her gaze aside, following Arbor's line of sight to another young man, staring them down and eying them closely as he weaved in and out cautiously, hiding behind street cars and slipping into plain sight through a few small crowds. The girl, Gwen, looked about ready to bolt at any second. It'd be simple to catch up, to grab her again in a moment, but she didn't want it to have to come to that.

Recruitment and speaking was far from her specialty, but she didn't have much of a choice in that situation, not if they wanted to keep everything quiet. Her hazel eyes left the stranger. If he thought to make a single move, Lynn trusted the two beside her to catch him in his game.

"We've come to help you." There was so much to explain in so little time. Where would she even start. How could she sum it up in so little time? "You need to leave with us. It isn't safe here."

He passed without action or word, blending into the pedestrian flow. Arbor eased up. Normally she would love an excuse to fight, but there was an anchor around her neck, a ball-and-chain on her ankles. It would only be an extra step, another hurdle to jump. She closed her eyes and pressed her fingers to her temple, massaging her forehead and listening to their target give them a hard time. She kept stepping back. One more scuff of her sneakers and she would never be able to walk again, Arbor assured herself, gritting her teeth and flicking her coin high into the air.

Chris nodded with Lynn's words. Rolling up his sleeve, he showed off his arm made of ice. "She's right. It isn't really safe here. We can take you to a place where there are people like you. Like us," he told the girl. Pushing his sleeve back down, he took a step closer to the Spider-Girl. "If you go with us, you can learn all about your gift and how to better use it. It's how my arm was created," he explained, shivering at the memory of his arm getting chopped off.

The man passed without incident. The idea of power in numbers seemed to shield her from the man. Her eyes stared back forward at the three despite the fact that she was more focused on the location of the man. It didn't take long for her senses to calm down. Gywn's face grew a bitter look. "The entirely of New York isn't safe, you fucking tourist." She countered, hands wondering into her pockets that jingled with the movement. Instantly, she froze at the touch of her stolen goods. Blake had to die for this shit? Her jaws grinder against each other frustratedly. Who even was that guy? Why had he shot her friend?

The boy piped up to back up the pale headed lady. Gywn's amber eyes stared him down critically. "How many more people have 'gifts'? And if there are plenty others-- why me out of all of those people? I'm sure that there is more to that than training."

Try as she might to keep her friendly appearance up, it was so blatant and obvious that the four of them wouldn't be going very happily together anytime soon. She was far from the trusting type. What was the nice way to put this? What else could she say? Brailynn frowned, taking a step back and glancing at Chris for a moment before turning her attention back to Gwen. "There's enough of us. Tens. Maybe hundreds. You were just won the genetic lottery," She never had the opportunity to know what normal was before, but she would have hated figuring out her own gift all alone. "Look, there us, the people who want to survive and have some sort of life - and there's them. You saw them, yeah? We both found you." One more glance at Arbor. Their friend in black knew well enough to keep his distance it seemed, for now, anyways. "You tell me what the smart option is." At least for the moment, until the coast was clear. She wasn't going far with an ankle like that.
