| such original title much wow
The school day had come and gone as usual. The required courses went by quickly, music was a breath of fresh air, and Gift Mastery was a total migraine. Since dorm reassignments, she had been placed in dorm 101. Bottom floor, first dorm. Honestly, Iovita had no complaints. It meant she could get to her room quickly and escape pretty much everyone for as long as she wanted. Her dorm-mates didn't bother her, and so she could basically be a hermit for as long as she wanted.
Fumbling around her bookbag for her dorm key, it took a minute or two of searching before finally finding it. The daily headache only made things harder. Quickly unlocking the door to her dorm and sulking off to her room, the peace and quiet was well accepted. Instantly, the Winter could feel the mess fading away.
While the school days usually passed by quickly, the end of the day always made the brunette slip into a more reclusive mood. Especially considering the focus was placed on the one thing she struggled with most. Simply put, it was not a great way to end an otherwise smooth day. On top of it, she had ran into the ex-prefect not too long ago.
That little run-in had meant that now she had evening company. It did sort of force her to keep her dorm room tidy. While it already was, there would be a couple out-of-place objects that Iovita couldn't stand to not put away with company. The reasoning behind the 'company' didn't make her feel any better. Technically though, it was deserved. She broke rules, and these were the repercussions.
Dropping her bag into its spot by her bed, the Winter flopped back. Looking at the smart-watch on her wrist, the time read 22:30. The Winter shook her head disapprovingly, she had been wandering around campus longer then she had thought. Well, at least she was still in before curfew... The spring-ghost wouldn't have to yell at her tonight.

| Busy schedules were anything but the norm for him. It was a daily routine of the same casual activities that he would be partaking in - self-studies, homework, mild reading, and then doing whatever the office asked of him. Though there were a few teachers around who shook their heads at the lack of change in his day-to-day schedules and wondered if he had any actual hobbies to participate in, to which he would reply that he did not really have any. Not that he didn't want some, but it was moreso that he didn't actually have anything that he was particularly interested in. Many of the books in the library he had read over and over again, looking at articles on the current headlines in the outside world wasn't anything particularly intriguing, and the video games he did enjoy had grown dull since he couldn't go off school grounds to pick something new up.
Some would tell him that trying out a different hobby than what he was used to would be a good idea, and as splendid of an idea as that sounded, Hieta didn't want to bother with it. He liked the mundane normality of his days, and he didn't enjoy having random and unpredictable variables suddenly barging their way into it. Keeping every day similar made for a more peaceful and quiet life. That's all he needed.
Except the fact that he somehow ended up saying that he would be keeping someone company at night. In retrospect, he couldn't believe his own impulsive behavior - that sort of thing was more of Nicola's forte -, but at the same time, it couldn't be all that bad. Judging from the looks of it, Iovita wasn't necessarily a poor student. She just broke rules here and there. Just broke a few rules. Not that that was a good thing in itself either.
It would be a lie to say that he hadn't been waiting for the brunette to come into her room. His day had finished earlier than hers, and as the office dismissed him by saying they didn't have anything for him to do, he had been waiting at her place patiently for the past hour or so. Doing absolutely nothing, really.
She walked in at around 22:30. "Welcome back."

| The Winter student hadn’t even been laying back for a second when the familiar voice rang in her ears. To say the least, it definitely startled her. “Gyaah!” On instinct her frame jumped, and the squeak chimed alongside it. Quickly sitting back up onto her bed, her brown eyes quickly began scanning the room for where he might be. Considering she couldn’t read his emotions, she never could tell if he was there or not.
Taking a moment to slow her breathing and racing heart, a sigh was the final ‘reset.’ “Thank you.” After thinking about it, it was probably logical he was here before her. It was a half hour until actual curfew hit, and as times had proved he showed up roughly an hour or two beforehand. A mental note she needed to acknowledge just a bit more. Iovita had cut it just a bit close this time.
“Has your day been well? The usual, I assume?” Iovita had been able to get a pretty good sense of Hieta's daily schedule. Considering he didn't exactly do much that'd require it to change, the only real thing that determined the end to his day was the office.

| Hieta blinked. Why was she so surpris-- Oh, wait. Right. "Sorry about that. I figured you were expecting it at this point," he stated simply. Even so, to be that terrified wasn't what he had imagined. She must've jump an entire feet or two at the very least. Was that what people were referring to when they talked about how ghosts gave quite a scare? It wasn't something that he could test out since he had an entire dorm to himself ever since the rearrangements were set into place, and the faculty members never really reacted like that whenever he stopped by. Not to mention that he hadn't actually startled any students at the academy before either. They all seemed to be rather unphased by it. Ah, no matter.
"Naturally the usual." If she thought it would be anything much different, then she'd been a poor judge of character this entire time. "And I would assume that classes are not anything new this time as well?" He wasn't fond of all of these formalities. He was used to it, but he wasn't a fan of it in the slightest. They reminded him too much of someone else. Though, since it had become almost a sort of custom to begin conversations like this, he couldn't exactly ignore it and thus, played along. "Or rather, gift mastery is still as big of a headache as always?" The superpower-centric class was really a hit-or-miss with students; they either loved it because they could use their powers unrestrained without worrying too much about everything else or they hated it since it required too much concentration, too much focus, and more often than not, migraines.

| While the Spring did make a point, she let it slide. She should have been expecting him to be around, especially at this time. Usually, Iovita was back at her dorm before he came. There had been one or two occasions where that wasn’t the case. Either way, he was now here. May as well move past the little scare. Why ruin the evening over something as simple as a little jump? That’s what the Winter decided she’d tell herself.
The formalities just came naturally for Iovi. Aside from her evening company, she rarely spoke. Socializing was rather awkward for her. Due to that fact, a rather large social anxiety also weighed heavily on her shoulders. Sure, it helped, but taking a more formal tone always made it easier to coax into casual conversation. It was a habit she had been encouraged to drop by her parents for a long time. Alas that never happened. “Pretty much. It’s rather frustrating…” Her voice trailed off as if lost in thought. “The lack of progress with my gift, I mean.”
Gift Mastery was the only class she seemed to fail to excel in. Of course, it was rather hard to track progress with her gift. While she did share it with the Headmaster, the gift wasn’t exactly physical. It made things a bit harder to monitor. At the present time, the only real thing was blocking out the emotions of others. It was turning out to be a nightmare. The regular migraine had slowly became something she could at least function with, but the moment Iovita attempted to block out any emotions it became disabling.
Letting out a brief yawn, the girl brought her knees to her chest as she leaned against the wall. ”I hope I didn’t keep you waiting long… I lost track of time wandering around campus.” Considering she wasn’t exactly able to sneak out of her dorm anymore, Iovita had taken up using as much time as she could after classes getting fresh air. Her logic behind it was being able to take a breath from the school day. Sure, she still ran into people, but considering she was constantly on the move it made it a bit harder for their emotions to stay in her mind. They acted more like annoying whispers at that point.
”I still can’t believe that the administration is okay with this.” Even though she didn’t really sleep, minus the naps she took during student breaks, Iovita still found it rather strange that the administration allowed her the company. She didn’t find it as strange that Hieta was allowed out of his dorm. After all, that was more or less how the whole thing had started.
