personality & appearance

Carl fits the stereotype of the normal American teen; he's tall, skinny, fairly attractive, and somewhat athletic. He has smooth, naturally-tanned skin that's blemished with the occasional spatter of freckles and small scars. His face is gently rounded and has a straight nose, full cheeks, plump lips, and his eyes are large and deep blue. Carl's hair is curly and rather long, falling just below his ears, and rich dark-brown color that matches his skintone.

Carl is the typical loud, boisterous, overly-confident teenage boy- he loves to brag, flirt, and act much cooler than he is. He often uses his origins as a big way to attract admiration or attention of his peers in an attempt to seem much more badass than he really is. He loves to party and drink and smoke simply because of the fact that he can say that he drinks and smokes- he also loves to try and fight with others for the same reason.
But despite all of this, he's actually quite friendly and very much enjoys having a close circle of friends and simply spending time with them.

history

Born to Fiona and Brian Mallon in early October of 2019 in the ghettos of Southside Chicago, Carl spent the majority of his childhood living in poverty and struggling for every dollar. His older brother, Caine, often spent the majority of his time fantasizing about a better life filled with the riches associated with being upperclass, but Carl was fairly satisfied with his below-average status- growing up like that had taught him to be accepting of such a lifestyle. He was an impressionable kid, which combined with the harsh realities of life on the Southside, who often fell victim to the stereotypes perpetuated by those around him- he frequently fraternized with gang-members, drank and smoke, and rarely attended school as he was downright pathetic grades-wise. His attempts to blend in with the less-than-desirable lifestyle of those around him alienated him from both his family, Caine in particular, but he became convinced that was fully okay with living life as an independent individual. Carl was perfectly fine with living like the scum that society painted him out to be.

Following a stroke of luck, Carl's family stumbled into a vast amount of wealth that abruptly ended every financial trouble they had previous experienced. They went from living in a barely-put together two bedroom shack to living in a luxurious mansion in Wheaton Illinois. While it seemed like everything Caine had ever dreamed for was happening around them, to Carl, it was a reality shattering event. He went from rarely attending poorly-funded public schools to being forced into the most exclusive private schools around. The stress of having to completely change his lifestyle put an irreparable wound in Carl's relationship with his family and drove him into increasingly rebellious behavior. He began to constantly sneak out to attend parties or engage in other rebellious behavior in an attempt to get back at his family for separating him from the only lifestyle he had ever known. One night while attending a fellow students party, Carl engaged in a fist fight where he first discovered his powers.

Shortly after discovering his newfound powers to his parents in a panic, Carl was quietly shipped away to Beata Academy so that he could learn to better control his abilities for his own sake. Initially, he was quite excited at the prospect of leaving home because of the fact that he would no longer be in daily contact with his family, but quickly after his initial arrival to Beata, Carl found out his older brother Caine had been sent to Beata as well.

Vivian is a short, slender but more-so skinny young girl with pale, smooth, unblemished near milk-white skin- a more natural beauty than anything else. She has a round, soft, squishy face with a sharp nose, prominent cheek-bones, plump lips, large blue eyes, dark eyebrows and long eyelashes. Vivian also has long, naturally wavy pale blonde hair that falls to her lower back.

An adequate description of Vivian would be, "an actual ray of sunshine without a mean bone in her body". She's an incredibly kind girl who loves both her friends and her family and constantly strives to make them happy and content. She's guided by her warm heart and can only see the good in people- even if those people don't deserve it. Vivian loves pretty much everyone and everything and is incredibly quick to forgive.

history

Born to Alison & Joseph Navarro in early April of 2019 in the upscale districts of Austin, Texas, Vivian Navarro lead a fairly average life in her bustling hometown. She has two older sisters, Alice & Lily, whom she had a normal sibling relationship with- they would get along as often as they would fight. Living in such a busy up-and-coming district like Austin wasn't cheap, so Vivian often lived a more penny-counting lifestyle than her seemingly endless surplus of friends, but it never bothered her too much- she didn't mind the fact that she couldn't afford to attend the best schools or wear the nicest brands of clothing.

From the moment of her birth, Vivian's powers were evident- although they were weak and just dismissed as common abilities. Her tendencies to sleep endlessly just made her out to be a lazy child rather than a gifted one so her parents hardly paid mind to the unusual patterns of her sleep cycle or how their own sometimes fluctuated in a strange manner. As her life progressed, it remained as average as- she moved up into high school, had crushes- the whole nine yards of being an average teenage girl with a boring life, really.

However, one day, after engaging in a rather nasty fight with her eldest sister Alice, Vivian's true powers came to light whenever she accidentally used her powers to send Alice into a deep sleep miraculously- while also putting herself into one as well. Her parents, worried by this, tried their best to keep these abilities under wraps and to hide them from the community, but in the end they shipped Vivian away to Beata.
