Out of Beta, Into Beata

Harley Graves frowned at the landscape before her. It wasn't that she was unhappy, just... Concerned.
Tall, imposing gates. Check.
Nice looking trees. Check.
Pretty benches. Check.
All in all, this place looked a lot like the places she tried to avoid at home - rich people places, her family called them when she asked.
But this was her home now, and she wasn't sure how she felt about that fact yet.
At home, aside from her gift, she had been pretty average.
There was nothing spectacular about her appearance, not even the way she dressed.
She had friends she talked to, and played pranks with.
She missed them. She'd missed them since she found out she'd be leaving.
But maybe this wouldn't be so bad. She liked new things, and meeting more people who were like her...
That had been an opportunity she couldn't pass up.
So here she was, standing in front of the tall, imposing gates, hoping she'd manage to make some friends.
So, carefully, Harley took her first, tentative steps into Beata Academy.

It...It was odd, being back. It had been months since Devin had last stepped foot in Rosebury but it was welcoming - being able to stretch his wings again. His tail swished behind him as he held a suitcase in one hand and held a cat in the other. His fluffy gray munchkin was curled contently in the crook of his elbow, having grown a little to large for it to be all that comfortable but was content either way. He blinked as he spotted the shape of somebody ahead of him, looking to be entering Beata for the first time if their timid steps was anything to go by. A soft grin flickered across his face as he sped up as much as he dared without disturbing Merlin. "Hello!" he called, hoping to get her attention.

A pale skinned girl with white hair and red eyes skipped over to the girl. She smiled and you could practically see mischief she hadn't caused yet in her eyes. "Hiya! I'm Asher! Nice to meet you both! What's your names?" She chirped. She was wearing a simple black jumper with a skull on her right hip that connected to a golden chain around a white belt around her stomach and a red one hanging loose around her hips, two long buckle like strands, one red and one black, were trailing behind her legs. On her left leg she had a torn up looking stalking and black converse. A simple look for a rich parents daughter, one he may not approve of but she didn't like those fancy clothes also. She took in the girls appearance and smiled swiftly at her. She then turned to the boy and gave him a smile as well. She roamed over him before her eyes glued onto his cat. "Aw isn't that just the most adorable munchkin ever!!" She said staring at the cute animal before shaking her head and looking back at the both of them.

Harley smiled a little, looking over this girl's - Asher's - appearance. Maybe, just maybe this wouldn't be so bad.
The girl who had spoken seemed nice enough, anyway.
"Harley. Nice to meet ya, Asher."
She turned to see the boy and his cat, and practically squealed.
"Awww! What a pretty cat! And hello to you, too," she added, looking in the boy's eyes now. "Both of us introduced ourselves," she gestured to herself and Asher.

Merlin shifted at the sound of voices, his yellow eyes flickering open at the attention as he let out a soft purr as he burrowed further into Devin's shoulder. Devin let out a small laugh as he shifted to make Merlin more comfortable as he dipped his head to the two of them. "Its good to meet the both of you, I'm Devin," he said as his wings shifted on his back. He paused before dipping his gaze down to the cat resting in the crook of his arm. "And this here is Merlin." He spared a glance at the two of them, giving a soft frown. "Are you two new here?" It was hard to tell - he didn't recognize either of them but it had been months since he had last been at Beata.

Asher nodded. "I got here a couple months ago. I actually just moved into the Summer house two days ago." She chuckled. "Cat I pet Merlin?" She asked unsure of the boys answer.

"I'm new, yeah. Just got here, actually... This isn't quite what I expected. Nice to meet ya, Devin."
It's true, she hadn't actually expected to meet people she thought she could tolerate so quickly.
Harley smiled at both Asher and Devin - things were looking up for her.
Maybe, before too long, she could consider these two her friends.
