Round 1: Dalton / Richardson vs. Hawke / Haynes

There was a satisfied growl from the rock creature. It took a step back, facing the boy who seemed to recoil from something other than the attack. Not that it mattered to the monster. It left Chip to scurry out of it's way, ducking away from its thundering steps. With its slightly smaller rocks, the monster repeated the same attack. One after another it was thrown Cayden's way. At this point, it seemed to ignore Thomas in preference for an enemy without an opponent. However, being the watchful creature as it was, the rock man kept a minds eye on the summoner--who did nothing more than watch with determined blue eyes.

Riley pushed himself up from the ground, his pain making his entire body ache. The boy dodged the first few attacks from Thomas and put a distance between the two making sure to be out of range of the solar balls. Riley put his hands on his burnt side, moving his shirts cloth out of the way to inspect the damage. It stung to the touch and his red eyes glared at his opponent, his mischievous smirk reappearing. The student took a deep breath in, moving his arms to his side. Slowly his pain diminished through out, the scars still visible yet the agony disappearing. Riley's eyes flicked to Cayden who was being attacked by Chip's golem; he turned his gaze back at Thomas who was readying himself for another attack. The black haired boy stood in place, his pain nearly gone and waiting for another opening in which he would take his strike.

Thomas was getting a little more than irritated at the boy. His solar aura continued to emanate but he dimmed it to give his attacks more power. Looking towards Riley, he stuck his hands out. A solar beam came from them and he arced it to hit him and the ground around him. The red-haired boy was getting tired of this fight and he wanted to finish it.

Chip lost Cayden among the rocks and blasts of solar light. A flicker of someone's shadow behind a pillar caught the boy's attention. However, soon lost it as the student found himself reading the scripture on the walls. A wide 'o' was made with his mouth before melting into a grin. The writing on the same side of the room began to shift, almost pulling themselves off of the wall. It would take a while. The being described was powerful. Head ducked down, Chip took further shelter in the bulky legs of the golem.

Riley felt painless now but he didn't know the real damage the sun boy put on him. He shuffled into a fighting stance and saw the boy put his hands together forming a beam straight at him. The light traveled way to fast for him to dodge, piercing his already damaged side again. The pain surged through him once again and the ground pushed him up, the shocks of the beam shaking the ground. Riley placed his palm against the dirt to keep him balanced and pushed off with his feet darting straight towards Thomas. His energy in his arms built up and about to burst. He noticed the aura around Thomas dimming down, meaning he wouldn't be as hot to touch and now he could surge his power even more with just skin to skin contact virtually anywhere. Riley jumped in with a kick aiming for the boys abdomen to knock him off balance, and if he got this attack he'd have the next move in the bag.

Thomas gasped as he was kicked, losing his balance and breath. In a mad grab for something to keep him balanced, he tried to grab onto the boy as he fell. With any luck, he'd at least pull Riley down with him, allowing for his aura to singe the boy a bit more than he already was. He heard Cayden's solar nuke go off and prayed that it successfully took Chip out. If he had to go against both Chip and Riley, he'd be a goner.

The script morphed a being of light and darkness, a mummy of sorts. It had sidelock hair, as well as the menat necklace with crook and flail. The face seemed to shift between a falcon's head, adorned with a sun disk and a crescent moon. Known as the traveler, the god of the moon--Khonsu.

Blue eyes looked up in awe at his handiwork, mouth agape. The god looked absolutely regal. He could just barely tear his eyes away at the sound of Cayden skidding towards Chip between the legs of his stone creature. He inhaled sharply, eyes widening at the bright light that was aimed point blank. The boy was sent flying across the map, crashing and burning though pillars of limestone--skin charred beyond all recognition, muscles unable to move-not even blood flowed--it was as if his entire body was cauterized. There was no breath in his lungs--the collision with the pillars made sure it took that away.

There was really only one thing at that point he could think of. That it hurt-it hurt-ithurtithurts! Chip couldn't even let out a cry of agony--he was frozen in place by the hottest of things. If he could try from the sheer pain, he would have. Whatever blast that was took that away too.  He felt sick, not from the pain. Just sick. He wanted to end it--he didn't want to do it any more it hurt too damn much.

The moon god merely spared the summoner a glance, he was alive--but barely. Even then, he wanted death. The regal being rolled his eyes and set them on the boy of the sun. At least--the one that was alive. With a wave of his hand, he dimmed the boy's control over the sun. Perhaps it was spiteful of Khonsu--a mortal using Ra-Horakhty's abilities was enough for him to say otherwise. There was a narrow to the creature's face as it looked down at its hands.

If he could--he would have stopped the power completely. It seemed that his summoner's status played a part in this. The energy was interrupted at the end, not at full power. 'Fine' It thought, reaching with the same hand to Riley--slowly removing the burns that not-Ra-Horakhty inflicted. It was not instantaneous by any means. Merely manageable.

Riley made it to the boy, the impact of his foot square where he needed it, sending the solar manipulator to the ground. He felt the instant tug on his shirt and he fell on top, bracing himself with his arms so he wouldn't completely crush him with his body. His chest lit aflame - or so it felt like it - making his lungs feel as if they were pulled together tightly and not being let go. Quickly he manipulated the pain away and let out a cough, a small amount of blood rolling down his chin. He was taking too much damage and if he continued any longer his body wouldn't be able to handle it. Riley's brows furrowed as he realized the boy below him was missing more than half of his clothes, but this wasn't the time for silly emotions. He took notice of the dimming light on the boy below him, his power cooling down and not constantly burning the insides of Riley's legs. He looked up in confusion but didn't hesitate to take his opening. One of his gloveless hands reached up to the pinned boy, aiming for his forehead where he could inflict the most pain. If he could release this pulse of pain through Thomas the fight would would quickly come to an end.

Thomas hated feeling the weight of the boy on top of him. In a different circumstance, he might've enjoyed it, but now when said boy wanted to kill him. Then he saw the ungloved hand come down on his head and he tried to struggle out of it. He couldn't manage it and felt searing pain flow through his head. It didn't help that whatever Chip had summoned was blocking most of his gift so he could light himself up and cook Riley to a crisp. He was stuck with nothing to do. And so he accepted the end.
