At the Courtyard (Open)

After all the classes that Zane had to take today, he found himself resting within a typically gathering spot for other students, typically he would go off into the art studio or somewhere he could utilize his abilities. Instead, Zane found himself taking in a great scenery, the fountain and the flowers that surrounded it made a wonderful view for all that took a step into the courtyard could appreciate. It was something like this, that he wished to create for others to enjoy as well. However he would need to master his abilities before he could bring about such artistic beauty to the Academy. Here at Beata, he has learned that there are many people that had gifts like him, but he began to wonder now, what will they do once they master their abilities and leave this Academy. For him it was a simple answer as he had already figured it out a long time ago, that he would create a great deal of art, it was truly something he wanted to do after everything that he will learn here. But in order to reach that goal, he knew that he was going to have to take many steps here in mastering his powers and his future. So as he continued to study the calm appearance of the fountain, he knew that he shouldn't rush this dream of his, and go with flow like the water within it. As the sun shined upon the water of the fountain it actually caught the attention of others, and attracted the attention of other students that had just planned to pass by, it truly was just a grand look at the time of day, and it would only last for a short amount of time. It was why art was meant to capture moments like this, but Zane was definitely not a painter for he wasn't very good with brush yet, but he would try sometime to pass notice of this moment to someone capable of doing so sooner than him.

As these moments passed, Zane began to take notice and wonder if he should talk to any of the students around here and perhaps make a friend or two from among them. He also hoped that they too could also understand art or at the very least enjoy it, but you can't always get what you want in this world they say.

Walking around, admiring the scenery would be a new student. To be honest, she was awfully lost, but she couldn't admit that. However, at this time, her purple scarf covering her mouth, was gently drifting with the small breeze and a soft whistle from the fountain could be heard. Gathering around the tune were the animals that inhabited the area of the schools, whether it would be rabbits, cats, dogs, squirrels, or the birds, they were all coming together peacefully to listen to the song and coming as though in a trance. And where those animals were, this new student, was playing her flute, silver and glistening, reflecting the sun's light. It was as though nature was following with her song. While she was peaceful appearing, she's not one you would like to mess with. Being the manipulator of curses, it was slightly visible through her hollow eyes that she was quite terrifying, almost like a ghostly spirit. That would most likely be the reason for the fact that she once cursed herself by accident, though what she cursed was a completely clueless thought. Being the one who collects the curses said by others can be difficult work, and she just always had to be on prompt and alert. Deep down though, she was pretty shy, quiet, and aloof. And... Well, a bit strange and awkward, but nonetheless, that was her.

Who is this girl in question? Why, she is of the Fluorite family, Lachesis Hex Fluorite. A fitting middle name to be honest, though, her family in general all have similar or the same gifts if not just variations of it. Being fond of critters, Lachesis always seemed to have a chemistry to bond with one, even if it wasn't her powers, though could be mistaken as that, considering she doesn't use her abilities to induce curses unless provoked or paid to do so - paid with expensive/exquisite red objects or large sums of money. Overall, she was a pretty docile girl. Looking up, she saw another student, and since she needed someone to guide her around, the redhead stopped her playing and called out with a delicate, yet somewhat creepy voice, "Ah, you there - would you mind showing me around the school?" Usually, she didn't start a conversation or ask anyone out of the blue, but let this be an exception as this was her new school and it seems to be the kind where the students have to teach themselves most of the basics.

Eventually, those glorious moments would pass upon the fountain, he began to take note that during them, that a nice flute had begun to play as well. But the light would move on to shine brightly upon other things in the courtyard, things that probably wouldn't catch Zane's attention as much as the fountain. It was about then that Zane took notice that someone was speaking to him and it was a question, not exactly something that he was expecting. Luckily, he was able to pay enough attention to the question to hear it right and be able to answer it properly without any confusion coming between the two of them. As he turned to face and focus on the person that had asked the question, he found a girl with red hair, from the base of the question that was asked, he was guessing that she was a new student. Looking back, he had gone through those days as well wandering and trying to figure out things for himself and from others at the school. He also took note that she was the person that was using the flute to make such wonderful music to go along with such a wonderful view. It was very nice when art appeased multiple senses, she was definitely interesting to him. "Sure, I don't mind showing you the way around here." He stated with a small smile as he walked towards her from his spot closer to the fountain. "My name is Zane Fenrir" He said to introduce himself to her. Hopefully in response to this she would also introduce herself to him and they could proceed with showing her around.

"Well if you didn't already know this is the courtyard of the school it is a popular gathering place for students after class. But moving on from that, is there any specific place that you would like to find or would you like for me to decide how we go?" He asked, wanting to know if she had a specific destination in mind or place she needed to be and he could show he things along the way if she wasn't in a rush to get there. You could explore the entirety of this academy for quite awhile, but often times, Zane didn't have someone helping him out, so hopefully this should be much more enjoyable for both of them with two people. After that, Zane would wait for her answer and think of what kind of route they would take depending on her answer, although he couldn't be perfectly prepared for this, he could at least show her all of the important stuff that he needed to know when he started off. This was the least that he could do for a new student that has also caught his interest, hopefully this won't be the last time that they will met each other outside of classes.

Turning back slightly to avoid any embarrassment from having little knowledge on where to go, and just asking some stranger passing by to guide her, Lachesis crossed her arms, turning her head a bit to make sure not to face him, with a slight frown, "Hmph, never mind. I don't need help from the likes of you." Then she turned back, this time with a small smile before awkwardly wondering how she should follow up with that. That wasn't exactly a nice thing to say, but, the curser wasn't exactly one who really liked to bother with the likes of men. No, she wasn't sexist, she just preferred to be around her own gender because she gets really really awkward and strange when talking to guys. That's a big fact. It didn't help with her social interactions, but it can't really be helped since it sort of run in the family. Except until they found their true love, but that can take so long, sometimes it seemed like forever.

"I'm Lachesis Fluorite," the girl said, not being one with formalities. Usually, she didn't even bother with introductions until they asked her, but let this be an exception because she did need help, even if she didn't really want it. Placing one of her hands on her scarf, adjusting its position before going through her bag and grabbing her case to put her flute back, Lachesis added on to her words before with a nervous and awkward voice, "N-not that I don't want to accept your offer to help." Just to get to the point, yes, expect her to be awkward this whole entire topic. It's just what she could do. While she was interested in him slightly and wanted to know who he was a bit, it was one thing to want to know someone, and another thing to get hit by love at first sight. And she's the former.

"Huh, how am I supposed to know what's around here? Take me wherever," she bluntly replied, not really making an attempt to be friendly. Let's see how well people outside her family can deal with her. Countdown until other guy snaps, she mentally started to count the seconds and if anything goes wrong, she could always curse him. Yep, this was the perfect plan and alternative for anything. The invisible flames around her could only be touched and made visible by her, and usually most of them weren't out, but more appear slowly the more she gets agitated. Let's give him an hour or so until then.

Jackie had a list of daily activities that she followed diligently. On Monday's, Wednesday's, and Friday's she would visit the soccer field. On Tuesday's she would chill out at the lounge. Saturday's and Sunday's were "relaxation" days. Thursday's were the days she walked about the courtyard.

Obviously today was a Wednesday but, due to having taken the wrong turn, she'd ended up here. Not that she really minded. The Courtyard was always a beautiful place no matter what season; A fountain of clear blue water flowed through the middle, while flowers of all colors, sizes, and species lined it. Surrounding them were walkways paved with bricks and archways of the same material.

Taking it all in for the umpteenth time, Jackie's red-contact laden eyes caught site of a male and female standing at the fountain. One was holding onto a musical instrument of some kind. Finding this rather curious, she swiftly made her way over to the pair.

"Excuse me." Her voice sounded rather monotonous when she spoke but I can assure you she was completely interested. "I don't mean to interrupt, but what are the two of you doing? Is this--I apologize if I say this wrong since I'm not fully informed on musical terms--a instrumental duet of of some sort?"

At first, Zane was quite confused by the person before him and how they had changed so suddenly from seeking help to rejecting one who has accepted the offer, going on further to say "from the likes of you", which meant there was a problem with specifically him then. He wasn't really sure what else to do as she had turned away from him as she had responded to what he said in introducing himself. However as she turned back around and introduced herself to him, it seemed like this would actually settle, but Zane was quite confused as to what this person was thinking at the moment. Going from asking for his help, actually rejecting his offer to help, and then actually going back to accepting the help. It was like she was tow faced to him at the moment, on one hand she was looking for help, yet she was appearing so cold to him as if she doesn't want it, but she probably did need it. He had no intentions of going back on his word, so he would carry on with this task and perhaps he could figure out along they way, why she was like that just a moment ago.

Reflecting on her name, Lachesis Fluorite, it was definitely not a name that he has heard before, but it would now not be so new to him as he wouldn't forget it most likely. "I simply asked because this school is quite large, but I'll try to give you as well rounded a tour as I can" He stated in response to what she told him about how she didn't know what was around here. So as they were about to depart, it seemed that someone else now approached them, upon taking notice of their arrival, Zane heard the question that they asked and laughed a little. "I'm sorry, but I am no musician, I wish I could be able to play an instrument as well, however I am an artist, a sculptor to be exact." He said to answer to new arrival's question. His ability to be such a skilled sculptor though goes hand and with his gift, which allows him to shape things like stone, metal, and many other earth based materials into a different shape. In most cases, he can just imagine the shape in his mind that he want it to make and it will change before his very eyes. For a moment, Zane began to think about the new arrival, and then wondered if she could help him in giving Lachesis a tour of the school. "Although this is out of the blue, would you mind helping me with giving a tour to a new student? If your not free, it is alright, but I believe the saying is two heads are better than one is very true." He said and waited for a response. Hopefully they could get this tour started before they lose too much more daylight and have to return to their respective dorms.

Whatever, it's just part of her nature to have sudden mood swings - whether they're violent or not. It was just how Lachesis was and it couldn't be changed. It'll happen often, so she'll need something then suddenly get angry about it. Sadly, it couldn't be helped at all, even if she wanted to change that. Curses aren't everything since they're not "almighty powerful - I can curse and do whatever I want" sort of thing. They could be creative, yes, but not something completely outlandish. While he was confused for awhile and just seemed deep in thought, she was going to leave until someone new came up. Great... More people. She just wanted to snap and get rid of them, but it was already noted that she knew how to control her powers decently and only use them in certain circumstances.

Those red color contacts... Oh, those seem interesting. "Well then, you people are intriguing. Asking random strangers for help, eh?" Huh, this school was absolutely silly and ridiculous. Expecting a new student to know the areas of the school! Then randomly asking someone passing by to help them with the tour. While she did ask, it did make sense considering she was new, but this. This is completely ridiculous. She was quite tempted to throw a curse or two at them, but slowly contained herself. "Actually, never mind. I'll find my own way around."

"With that attitude of yours, you'll never learn to get around this place. I suggest you take any help you've been offered and be happy." Jackie didn't normally talk back to strangers but this little brat was an exception. Had she no idea what she was wasting? This was her chance as the new girl at Beata Academy to make friends. Jackie was all for making friends. More friends meant more knowledge. And the more knowledge you recorded and stored, the more your great-grandmother would accept you. Because that's what everyone wants. To be excepted by their great-grandmother's.

She pulled out her phone and brought out the map she had saved there. "Right. So first we'll visit the Dorms since they seem to be the closest to where we are now, which is the Courtyard. Come on." Without waiting to see if they were actually going to follow her, she strode off towards the dorms.
