Site of Arrival

A redheaded girl with gray eyes nervously observed the area before her.
Valerie had never been to a normal school, and now here she was at this fancy place, surrounded by people.
She wondered if anyone would hate her, since she'd always had pretty much everything - except her family. They were never home.

Amy had been skipping around, again, when she saw someone new at the entrance. Amaya would be scolding her for trying to find nearly every student by skipping around, but she once again ignored the suggestion and nearly ran to the redhead. "Heya! Are you new here?"

Valerie nodded. "Yes, I'm Valerie... It's a very pretty place," she smiled slightly, taking in the area. This girl's aura was a bright pink, seeming to be eternally cheerful. Well, it was a better welcome than the young girl had hoped for, seeing that there was one at all.

Amy Rose giggled. "Isn't it!? This is Beata Academy. I'd be glad to give you a tour, but I might get lost. I'm a bit of a ditz. Or we could just hang out!" All Amy Rose wanted was another friend. She wanted everyone to feel her love, since it was the most powerful thing (or so Amy Rose thought).

"We could hang out, I suppose... That means just kind of talking to each other, right?" Valerie inquired, uncertainly. She had next to no social experience, one reason her parents thought this place would be good for her.

She giggled. "Sure! We can go to the courtyard if you want. Or we can go to the dorms and hang out while you get settled." Amy Rose gasped. "Maybe Hosa or Grant or my sister are free! We could all hang out, if you want!"

"...Sure," Valerie murmured. "I'd like that." Was this what having friends was like? Maybe this place wouldn't be so bad after all.

Amy Rose took her hand and led her away. "Hello!" she called out. "Hosa! Grant! Amaya! Anybody out here!?" Amy Rose turned back to her in the meantime. "You'll love them!"

'If they're anything like you, it's unavoidable,' Valerie thought to herself. The girl had something about her that was hard to not like. "I hope so," was all she said allow, obediently following the other girl's lead.

"Oh, they're great! Grant is quiet, but he's really sweet. Hosa's really fun. My sister's lots of fun once you get to know her. She's got like this protective shell around her heart, and I'm trying to find out why." She giggled. "We've got our quirks, but we're great!"

Hosa had indeed been hanging out in the Courtyard, but as a bird. She had just been having fun being a robin when she heard Amy's voice speak up. Her head turned around until she spotted her and...Somebody new? Oh fun! Her wings flared open as she took flight, and dove into a bush not far from them. She hopped around in the bush until he could see them, and ruffled her wings as she thought a form to turn into, but then she saw how timid the new person looked and frown. Maybe she could still...Yeah, it would work.

Hosa closed her eyes with a huff and felt her body change. The next thing she knew she was on four paws. Her cat-like eyes shifted as she looked at the two, and her tail flickered. A name came bubbling up to her mind; Snow Leopard. Well, that made her pause cause she had been going for a tiger but it didn't matter. She was in fact a snow leopard cub now, having chosen to pick a baby form cause it was rather cute and Amy would love it.

So, with a small and tiny roar, she came bounding out of the bush toward the two...Only to trip over her own paws somehow and roll head over tail, before coming to a stop not far from them. She shook her head as she looked up at them, sighing softly. She let out a small, squeaky rawr at them in defeat.

Amy Rose squealed and picked her up carefully. "Hosa you're so cute!" She giggled, then set her down and motioned to her new friend. "This is Valerie, my new friend. She's new, obviously. I mean, we've never seen her and she was just standing at the entrance an- Oh! I'm rambling!" She covered her mouth with her hands to be safe.

Valerie looked at the creature in awe. "...A snow leopard? Named Hosa...?" She wondered exactly what it was doing there, but dismissed the idea quickly in favor of greetings. "Hello, Hosa," she gave a shy smile and a small wave.

Being picked up was something that Hosa didn't enjoy that much, and was happy when Amy returned her to the ground. She nodded as she listened to Amy talk about her new friend before she turned her gaze to Valerie with a smile. "Hello!" she said although she knew to the both it just sounded like a meow. She leaned forward slightly and gently swiped her paw at the air in greeting. She supposed trying to talk was a bit pointless, but oh well, she couldn't help it. "Its just what I want you to think," she said with a flick of her tail, raising her chin up proudly as she looked at Valerie. Only if they could understand her...But hopefully Valerie wouldn't mind all that much being tricked, but Hosa couldn't help it; she loved using her power to mess with people.

"...I think she's trying to communicate...? What? I've read a lot about animals, snow leopards and wolves especially, but never anything about them communicating with people..." Valerie murmured, confused.
