allergies suck (Open)

A loud, wet sneeze could be heard in the lounge. It came from a dark corner of the room, and if one were to shine a light there, two orangeish hazel coals for eyes could be seen. Though the student would groan in annoyance and pain if someone did that. Never-ending sniffles radiated from him.

See, Rhett had a case of allergies. With it being so rainy now, and that rain mixing with the pollen, it gave him such a headache. Both his nose and his throat were acting up. Almost as an example, he gave a dry cough. "IhatethisIhatethisIhatethis," he grumbled. The Spring student was obviously in a sour mood. With this throbbing headache, even his gift wasn't working so well. He wanted to sleep so bad, but this homework was due tomorrow. Oh, the joy.

By the way, someone was behind him. He didn't know that though.

Amaya slowly approached and leaned over to try and see his face. "Uhhh, you okay, dude?" she asked. "I have some aspirin in my bag...and a couple cough drops..." wanna get some drugs? i can hook you up. She dug into a pocket and pulled them out. "By the looks of it, neither would help."

Rhett looked up and squinted his eyes at the girl offering him different medicines. He was holding a tissue to his red nose. He had to be a mouth breather. a mouth breather.

"Anything to fix my headache would be amazing." The Spring mumbled quietly. He frowned. Why couldn't he see the girl in front of him clearly? Why was it so dark? The blonde boy groaned internally. With his headache, his brain couldn't focus enough to make his power work.

"Peppermint could be fine though."

IC: Amaya nodded and offered him two aspirin from the bottle and a cough drop. The poor kid. "You want water? I'll go get you some. And maybe I can call my sister or boyfriend to make you soup or something..."

"Never thought water could sound so nice. Wateeerr," the boy droned out, ending in a laugh. That laugh turned into a cough, and he turned away. What, now his body wasn't even letting him be happy. Stop being such a dic....tator. Rhett got a fresh tissue and took the aspirin. The path to heaven was in the palm of his hand.

IC: Amaya rushed out to the cafeteria, grabbed a cold water bottle, and rushed back. She held it in front of the boy dying from sickness. "You're not dead yet, are you?" she asked. I'd hate to either explain this or hide the body...

He raised a dark blonde eyebrow. "Oh nooo I've got the Bubonic plague and everyone is going to dieee," the Spring joked, downing the aspirin with the water. He sounded rather nasally, which kind of made everything feel just a tad funnier. "Thanks."

Amaya laughed. "Sure thing. I have to respect a dying kid's wishes, after all," she teased back. If she were Amy, she'd feel really bad about making fun of a sick kid, and joking about the sickness. If she were Amy.

'The dying kid' nodded. "Yeah. If you were rude before I died, I'd come back just to haunt you a little. Not too much, just a few inconveniences." Rhett rubbed his temples. The aspirin would hopefully work, and it didn't hurt to help the medicine.

Amaya chuckled. "And that wouldn't be pretty." Since he wasn't likely Japanese, she explained, "I'm of the Shinto religion, so haunting spirits aren't exactly a good thing to experience. Sometimes even bad to look at." She sat beside him and grabbed a tiny pack of tissues from her bag to place on the table in case he ran out of tissues. "I'm Amaya, by the way."

He thanked her for the extra tissues. "Are ghosts a good sign in any belief? A rhettorical  question." Ba dum tish. "Nice to know your name, though. I'm Rhett." He was about to stick out his hand to shake, but quickly reconsidered. No good if this now named girl got these 'allergies'. Plus that would be gross.

Amaya felt nearly the same. "Yeah, let's hold off on a handshake until you're all better. You want me to call my sister or my boyfriend? They'd make some soup and bring it here." Then she smirked. "Maybe they'd even stay. We wouldn't have you die alone."

He nodded and held his hands close to his chest, as they were feeling a bit chilly. "Yeah, some soup would be nice. But I don't want them to come if they don't want to..!" Sniffle sniffle. Hey, his headache had faded to a dull thud. That was nice. His breathing wasn't being helped, though. "Yeah chicken noodle soup :D."

Amaya immediately whipped out her phone and called her sister first. "Hey, Amy! You near our food?"
"I just grabbed a snack! What's up?" her sister asked.
She smiled. Typical Amy. She was sneaking chocolate away from Amaya's stash. "Can you whip up some chicken noodle soup in the kitchen? I met this kid Rhett and he's dying of allergies."
"Roger that!"
She hung up. "Amy will be here in a bit."

He smiled up at Amaya, and mimicked a grandmother's wavering but cheerful tone. "God blessed your generation." Rhett laughed softly and dropped the accent. "Seriously, thanks. Next time you get sick, I'll get you anything you need. Even if you somehow catch the Black Plague." Oh no. Ohnono. Turn away now. Face directly into trashcan. Cannons loaded. FIRE!
