| "Hey, ladies...?" Preston called a little too blandly, a feigned smile plastered unto his face. He picked up a scoop of fresh white powder off of the earth, holding it up for them all to see. It was literally all around them, how could they not notice? "If we want water so badly, we don't have to drink from a fishbowl. We can drink the snow." He slung the frozen mess in Kayla's direction, patting the rest off of his gloves. Although it probably wasn't best to eat it like a snow cone,. If they wanted to melt it a little, all him or Kayla had to do was do a little zappy-heat-voo-doo with their tin cups and viola - fresh water.
The young man shrugged once Kayla starting asking questions, a little annoyed she was the one stepping up to the plate, but he didn't exactly feel like taking charge himself. "I'm going to guess and say that none of us do?"

| Penny sighed before crossing her arms and looking towards the snow-covered ground. "Almost none... unless watching Discovery Channel counts as experience..." she muttered before a cold shiver ran through her body from the freezing temperatures around them before she heard Preston talk about the snow on the ground. Duh. How could she be so stupid as not to realize they could use the snow? The only problem would be if the snow weren't a foot or more high. She really didn't feel like cleaning leaves and dirt out of her teeth after she drank water. Well.. if nothing else, they did have the river for at least some fish to try to eat. That was always a plus. | |

| No one seemed to know exactly what they were doing. It didn't stop Grace from feeling extremely stupid and out of her element, but hey, at least they'd all die of the same thing: incompetence. She didn't even respond to the question, feeling somewhat embarrassed about her lack of experience in the wild. She'd barely been outside over the last several years, much less in a frozen wasteland. The school wouldn't let them die there though... right? Well, it wasn't a normal school...
They should've probably figured out where to camp by now, but clearly no one knew what to do, and if anyone was going to take charge, Grace certainly wasn't going to. It was really cold though... Were they just going to stand out here for a week? Why didn't they give them some kind of guide? This school was really hands-off.
OoC: Sorry friends, Grace is not a plot advancer, unless you use her as bait to attract bears.

| Amelia watched the others warily. Although the snow was a good idea, none of them knew what had walked there. She didn't want to drink any yellow snow in disguise. This trip wouldn't be easy, even if they had this assortment of supplies. Slinging the backpack on her shoulder, the girl straightened her back and put on a calm façade. "I can fish, that's about it," After looking around, she noticed there wasn't much to fish with. She definitely wasn't going in the water; it was just far too cold. She'd have to get a makeshift spear if she wanted to have any luck without line. Or bait, for that matter.
Some wood would be useful, both for fishing and the fire they would have to make. "I'll see if I can find any dry wood," Noticing Grace standing around looking uncomfortable, she called out to her. "Grace! Want to help?" She then approached Preston and retrieved the hatchet they had been given in trade for the small tent.

| Grace nearly jumped on the spot at being called upon, having not expected to be relied on for anything. That would be for people who could actually do stuff, right? Then again, it was just gathering dry wood, so maybe even she could do that. "Y-yes!" Her voice came out as a loud squeak, and she flushed with embarrassment as she started trudging through the snow towards Amelia, looking down hard at the winter wonderland at her feet. She guessed she would be carrying it, which was something she could probably do. At least if she made a fool of herself in some way, it was only in front of one person. | |
