Pity [CLOSED]

Coyly, Lamia shifted her gaze from Magic to Logan to Montare and then back to Magic. As curious as she was, somehow, it seemed like a topic to avoid. No, it was obviously a subject that shouldn't be touched - both for her sake and everyone else's. Maybe they wanted to talk about it, though? At least, the boy with the ice bag did; the ice bag made her question what exactly he was doing before coming here as well. Did it have to do with his power? Taking a deep breath, she knew she was going to regret this, "U-uhm... Wh-what e-exactly... u-uh..." Shaking her head frantically, she quickly bit back her words. "I-I'm s-s-sorry, I d-didn't mean t-to..." Fuck her voice. It faltered at the worst moments possibly.

"What, the ice pack?" It took Logan a few moments of wandering eyes to realize what the shy girl was talking about. Well, shy was an understatement, her words always seemed to be melting, dripping into incoherence. He could see she was frustrated. He tried his best not to patronize her, and his reply came fast. "I was wasted last night." His words were blunt, and the tone matched his expression, the deadpan grin he gave.

"If you guys weren't going anywhere, I was off to watch the sunset on the rooftop, if you wanna join me." Logan had never been one to just watch a sunset, but something about Jane's outlook on life made him think. "I've actually never tried it, so I don't know how...boring it may be, but hey, it could be cool." He sounded like a loser, but he stuck his hands in his pockets and kept an earnest brow. He'd ride the sunset train to hell.

Go to the roof and see the sunset? Sounded like a good idea. It would be better than dealing with office people over some packet. He could always get it tomorrow. "Sounds good to me. I never watched the sunset here either so it could be interesting" Mason put his hands behind his head and stretched a little before looking at the other two. "What about you guys?"

"Sure." Montare was just glad that the idea of going to watch the sunset drew attention away from the previous focus of their conversation. It wasn't like he had anything better to do either, and he wasn't about to ignore a chance to be able to do something with people beside himself; opportunities like this were pretty rare for him. Guess that was one of the consequences of having such a crappy reputation around the school. A moment after, Montare realized the quiet girl had said... something a few moments ago, although he couldn't quite tell what. "Did you say something?" he asked, looking at the girl.

That was straightforward and direct. Don't judge, don't judge... Well, more like find some reason to get jealous. Lamia replied with a small smile, "I-I d-don't mind... wh-whatever you g-guys w-want." Oh, Montare didn't hear her before... Fuckfuckfuck... Was she that quiet? Or was he just not paying attention to her because she didn't really have anything important to say? A nervous giggle bubbled up her chest as she cast a sheepish, fleeting glance at Magic. "N-n-no, I-I didn't." Maybe it was better that he thought he heard something; maybe he wasn't bright enough to put two and two together and realize that Logan had answered her question. Hopefully, anyway.

Logan smiled. "Awesome! We better hurry, though, it isn't waiting for us." Despite the truth in that statement, he was rushing up the stairs to the roof. By the time they got up there, the sky was still orange and bright. He broke the air with the heavy rooftop door and breathed it in. "Is there a bench or something up here?" He walked further out. "We should have brought food or something."

Magic nodded to the other two before following Logan down the hallway and to the stairwell. He felt a little relaxed once the fresh air hit him. It felt really nice up here. Magic looked out on the horizon looking at the bright colors that laced the sky still as the sun started to set. "I don't know if we will be up here long enough for food. But I dunno." He said.

Montare followed after Logan and Magic, expecting the Lamia would follow as well. Upon reaching the rooftop, he took in the orange light that tinted everything up there. It really was relaxing up here; Montare regretted not coming up here before because of this. He never expected that it would be so pleasant, and he preferred spend much of his free time in the school's training rooms.

For a moment, Lamia stood at her place, taking a good look outside where other students started filing in, purple scarcely staining the sky. They'd probably make it if they didn't dawdle around too long. She took a deep breath, swallowing before raising her feet at the others' bidding and following their footsteps out of the hallway and straight to the rooftop. The last time she had gone up there, she had nearly fallen off out of panic, lost in her thoughts, when someone had snuck up behind her. Was it fun to scare her out of her skin? Her pace fell into small steps, the exit seeming to loom at the end of the pathway, and hopefully, she wasn't going to do anything dumb.

Bright rays of light met her once she reached the top, and Lamia winced, bringing her hands up to shield herself. She blinked before softly smiling - maybe she shouldn't have to worry right now. It was just watching the sunset, how could she mess that up? In many ways. Shifting her gaze, she perked up a bit once she heard Logan and Magic. "F-f-food?" Her hand reached into her bag, shifting through before an uneasy smile graced her lips, "D-do th-these w-work?" A handful of Pocky boxes were clasped loosely in one hand, the other holding up a transparent, plastic bag of chocolate chip cookies.

Logan knew Magic was right. Nevertheless, he couldn't help but smile at Lamia. "She has the right idea," he murmured to the boy, and nodded to the girl with the cookies. "You sure you're okay with sharing those? You don't have to. I could lose a few pounds." He patted his tomach for emphasis on the statement.

Magic was a bit surprised that Lamia had some food. Though the girl seemed to be helpful to everyone. He was also pretty sure that the girl wouldn't mind if they had some. He didn't really pay mind to the food. He wasn't really hungry at the moment. So instead he walked over to the fence and looked out at the surrounding nature, and the sunset.

Montare turned to look at the winter girl as she spoke, noticing the food in her hands. "No thanks." He wasn't particularly hungry, nor did he want to come off as greedy, despite the fact that accepting the offer almost certainly wouldn't do that. Yet he didn't want to take any chances with these things; he'd messed up the chances he's had at making friends previously, and didn't want it to happen again. As Montare looked out at the horizon, he couldn't help but smile. It had been quite awhile since people had willingly been around him for so long, rather than try to avoid him as soon as possible.

"I-I'm f-f-fine w-with sharing... i-if you g-guys want them..." Reluctantly, she lowered her hands, placing everything back into her bag, save for the cookies - just in case. Lamia chewed the inside of her mouth, tempted to believe that she had screwed up by offering something a bit too sweet. Her eyes drifted towards the sky, a blue painted with streaks of orange, red, and bits of purple; when was the last time she tried to relax and hang out with someone? Never. Hesitatingly, she took some steps forward to join the others, but stopped a few feet away, turning her head away. They'd probably want some space, and somehow, she had a tiny suspicion blossoming in her that it would be best. Who'd want her to be so close to them? The gaps would be fine... accidentally brushing up against someone would be awkward. Why were they all guys anyway?

Logan smiled at her, but didn't go for the first cookie. He didn't want to be that guy, the guy too eager to take another person's food, even if he suggested food in the first place. Instead, he sat nearby Lamia, sat in a pine green bench ripe with a new coat of paint. In fact, it seemed a tad too new...
"Fuuuck!" The boy stood, and paint coated the butt of his pants, plastered across them like the siding of a house. "Don't sit on the bench. They didn't bother to put a sign up. Jesus..." He poked a finger to a spot of paint, and it stuck. It was still wet, but to wash his pants would mean to go all the way back to his dorm; and by that time, the paint would have dried on the bench itself. "They must have just been up here. I liked these pants too..." God, what an idiot he was. This was no way to make friends.

Magic observed the sunset until Logan's yelling made him flinch and turn around. He noticed the paint on the boy's pants, and the messed up paint on the bench. There wasn't really much he could do about that. "Oh that sucks." He remarked. He didn't really know what else to say about it. He just knew to stay away from the bench now.
