Well, here she was.

The prefect was in the gaming lounge, excited beyond belief to be playing old, classic arcade games. Like, really old. She wore clothes that suited her frame, a bright tank-top, covered by a grey sweater, jeans, and knee-high black boots. The most important garment that she had though, was the small leather purse at her side. It carried a good $20 worth in quarters, causing it to feel rather heavy. 80 coins, causing the small purse beside her to weigh over a pound. Adding in her cell phone and other items, it weighed a rough three or so pounds. Not too bad for a small purse, but still rather heavy to be carrying all day. For a woman, at least.

But Keirsta wasn’t a woman. She was a teenage gifted, who was sitting in the middle of an arcade taking her rage out on a machine. Her teeth were gritted as the game had gotten pretty intense, her knuckles bearing a pearl tint with how heavy her grip held onto the joystick. Time was running out, and she was on the eighth level. The pinkette had gotten that far, and she would keep going until time ran out.

3… 2… 1… Time up!

”No! Damnit!”

Her fist slammed onto the small platform of the machine where the buttons were located, frustrated with the fact that she couldn’t continue the game. Sighing heavily, Keirsta took a step back and leaned against a pillar to rub her face. Her eyes were getting dry, and she wanted to just go sit down and play a game for a bit.

Taking a small walk up to one of the counters, she forked over a five dollar bill in exchange for a pass to use her ageing 3DS console, and a small cartridge to play one of the still running Mario Kart games. It was amazing, how something like this could survive for 20 years. Then again, they had a working Pacman machine. Pacman. Working. It was amazing.

Shaking off the feeling of awe from the fact that the device still worked, the pinkette took her place in one of the lounge chairs, quickly getting comfortable before firing up the game and instantly recognizing the voice. Plugging in her headphones and wrapping them around her neck, the prefect had the volume at the perfect level to hear without having to actually wear the expensive piece of earwear.

It wasn’t long, until she once more was sucked into the realm of gaming.
