| Myles loved a good road trip, a chance to indulge his sort of secretive love of literature. Though, usually the kid also had a couple more things on hand. He spent most of the long trip chatting with his dad about the various things to see and such, reading or sleeping. When finally the tires of the black Chevrolet screeched to a halt at a town called Rosebury and Myles was told to walk the rest of the way. Myles raised an eyebrow at the little town, a small smirk on his face looking to the dead looking trees and stray leaves still laying on the ground. He slipped on his worn Laredo boots, pulling his Petrol jeans over them and tucking in his gray Browning Tee, showing off a belt buckle with twin revolvers and elegantly engraved all around. With one more fell swoop he picked up a dark brown cowboy hat, nodding his head at the cold weather "Not in Texas anymore, Todo." He said with a Southern accent, pulling the hat over his blond hair, his light blue eyes scanning the area. He stepped from the truck his large boots thudding on dirt, pulling a backpack with the usual supplies over his shoulder. After a short trek he finally made it to the gate, looking at the place saying "Small school my left ass cheek..." with a smirk and a slight look of awe in his eyes. He strolled through the gate admiring the large building and paved stone walkway, stepping up to one of the benches. He looked at the stained wood, it seemed as good as new. Shrugging his shoulders, he slipped his backpack off and sat on the bench, zipping open a pocket and pulling out a plastic water bottle, sipping lightly, telling himself to take a quick rest, thinking to relax for a second. | |

| Luce sat on the edge of the fountain directly ahead of the gates into the school, the sunslight shining off of his silvery-white hair. He seemed to be thinking about something silently, looking up when he heard the gate creak open. Rising to his feet, Luce made his way over towards the new student. "Hey there! You must be new here, right? I'm Luce." He extended his hand to Myles. | |

| Myles looks up from his spot on the bench, his piercing blue eyes scanning the new face, grasping the guy's hand shaking firmly. He takes note of the handshake (Limp fish or firm?). With a smile he says underneath his hat "I guess so, I'm Myles...Seems like this place ain't much of a stones throw from Texas..." If you'd look closer you could see the Texan shivering as all he was wearing was a tee shirt. "What's the place like? I was told this was rural but it seems,Purty large." | |

| "The school might be big but Rosebury's the only town that's nearby. Otherwise we're just in the middle of nowhere." Luce answered, looking back with his own light blue eyes. "Life's pretty normal I think. Other than everyone having some kind of gift that most people don't have. It feels really normal though. Well, most of the time," Luce told Myles, thinking back to a few times where things were less than normal. While a fight at a party with alcohol and drugs could be considered normal, one of the participants turning into a wolf and then back into a then naked human isn't so normal. "So, what's your gift, Myles?" | |

| Pushed up off the bench, his 6'2 frame towering high, he would stretch while saying "Besides being able to shotgun a beer in less than two seconds?. " He raises an eyebrow saying "I seem to have this thing that lets me slow down time, if I get really focused. I seem to be able to hear a bit better too. Happened once while I got really focused trying to out shoot my pop. These ducks were making a flyover, like ten, said I couldn't get them all down with the three shots I had in my Remington. I took on his challenge and all of a sudden, things slowed, I could hear their wings flutter and-" He raised his hands like holding a shotgun feigning recoil saying "Pop, Pop, Pop, all of them, gone. Then I got a migraine and ended up drinking myself to sleep that night..." He grabs his water bottle saying "Do they search you for alcohol very good? Cause one a' my bottles is full'a Clear and I don't feel like making that bad of an impression early on...Should I ditch 'em?" | |

| A figure had been watching for a while, although not to spy. She wanted to know what these people looked like, not their heat signatures, just how everyone else saw them. Sydney rubbed at her eyes as she stared at the glowing figures, not even knowing if they were male or female. Sure, she could check, but... ew. She barely noticed when a face turned toward her, so she continued to shift her eyes into various movements in hopes of seeing whoever these people were. How will I know if I'm seeing them right? Haven't seen color since September. Oh yeah, she'd already forgotten what green looked like. | |

| Myles crossed his arms as Luce said his goodbyes for a moment when he would notice the figure, raising an eyebrow and smirking calling out to her "Hey, little lady? If ya wanted to look me up and down, you can just ask. I don't bite." He would squat back down onto the bench, taking his hat off, his short cut blond hair a bit rustled from the hat and sleeping in the truck. He wasn't really sure what to think of the new place as it was just so...different. He kept looking to the lady, shivering slightly in the cold shaking his head and unzipping his backpack once more, pulling out a rolled up Brown Carthartt, tossing a suspicious looking unmarked water bottle full of a clear liquid back into his bag, sliding on the heavy jacket. He puts his hat back on, crossing his legs at the heel and kicking them out, offering the girl a sincere smile. (Pardon my change in POV still in A sort of different Rp type thing, long story short, it's gonna be weird and I don't feel like fixing it) | |

| Sydney froze in alarm and looked at the person at where their eyes would be. She'd been spotted. "I was just tryin'a fix something," was her weak defense. "I don't know what you look like." That was true, for the most part. She could at least see his heart beating since it gave off so much heat. The differences in his heat signature to others around here showed he wasn't used to this type of weather.
She pointed to his gut, which was rapidly alternating from normal body heat to relatively chilly. "Y'should keep your stomach warm around here. Helps with the cold." She put her hands in her warm hoodie, glad to have the soft inside to keep her warm. "You from th' south?" Although she shortened her words a lot, it blended well with her somewhat northeastern accent.

| Myles chuckled at this "Yuh? I guess I figured I could toughen it out." He zipped up his jacket, this being his general thought to anything of hindrance. "Well, if you want a description, how about dashing Texan, with the usual, jeans, belt buckle, hat and boots. Call me a stereotype." Although it was true, he was a stereotype and proud of it. He embraced where he was from. Even if he still had some modern tendencies, he loved to live just like his dad and how he was raised. After a raise of an eyebrow, Myles gestured to her eyes saying "What's Up with you? Yer power actin' up or somethin'?" | |

| She began to relax again, influenced by the boy's casualness. "There're quite a few horses to ride if ya wanna feel at home, then," she laughed. Sydney eyed the other boy for a moment, wondering who he was. Her slitted pupils shifted back to the Texan at his question.
"You could say that. I'm seein' you in infrared, all heat and no color."
Ooc- sorry, I was away from home all day

| Myles pointed to his light blue eyes saying 'I got a power with my eyes too, quite a bit different though, slows time down fer me. Also helps increase my hearin' for whatever reason, guess I'm a bit of a predator, ya know?" He shrugged, saying "And Hell yeah, I could take a horse for a ride if I need some air, guess you're gonna ask me if I rode my horse to school now?" He chuckled at his joke, what a greeting, a guy who seemed rather silent and a girl stuck in infrared, then her statement struck him for a moment he smiled and said with shake of the he said "Darlin' most people know me as all heat and no color." | |

| The girl raised an eyebrow, trying not to laugh as well. "I'm not saying you should ride any horse. Don't even try me and my brother's horse. She's practically a pony." Oh yeah, their horse. Bad times, apparently. She's also the reason Rhett's got a few broken bones, but maybe I shouldn't mention that."
Sydney thought about her and her brother's power, as well as his kid's statement. "I think our eyes shine in the dark. Like a predator as well." Yeah. Her brother nearly scared the shit out of her every time he wanted a glass of water at midnight. The initiate's predicament also came to mind for a moment and she pretended to shudder. "At least it's not stuck in ultraviolet mode."
Wait, what were those waves in the sky? They better not be goddamn radio waves or I'm blinding myself.

| Myles snapped his fingers, trying to get her attention "Hello? Earth to Thermal Girl, you not feelin' so hot?" He looked up, to find nothing and not wishing to take the chance of a migraine to accompany his gift, he just looked back down at the girl staring into the sky, furrowing his brow. This seemed odd, even for a school full of super powered teenagers, not to mention the fact that these were the first people he'd met since the ride down. "What's up with the sky? Still looks blue to me." | |

| The girl rubbed at her eyes. Everything was getting trippy. The sky was overly bright and the ground rose up and down as if the Earth itself were breathing. She didn't feel dizzy at all, though. That was good, right? "It's a little... too blue." I want the clouds to go away, they're making me sick. She wanted to close her eyes so bad. "I think it just got worse. Feels like I'm on every drug at once."
Don't you hate it when that happens? "I think I'm fine, though." So much for helping her control her power, she couldn't tell which way Beata was anymore.

| Myles sighed, pushing off the ground and standing up, pulling on his backpack, putting on his hat and taking a couple steps closer "Need a hand darlin'?" What in the world was going on? Was she actually on something, she sure was acting like it. Maybe he was on something, he was at a school for super-powered people. He could be in a coma, I mean he had a super power too! But he went along with it, worry and slight bit of annoyance crossed over his features as he looked at the girl. | |
