She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "No, I'm good." Sydney put her sunglasses back on, not realizing she had taken them off in the first place. "Sorry if I weirded y'out there," she quickly apologized, watching as the fluctuating landscape calmed down and the infrared leaked through. Not completely, though, the ground still slowly buckled, rising and falling as if the Earth was in a deep sleep. She never thought she'd be glad to see heat again. "I'll just keep these on if that's what's gonna happen."
Her smile resurfaced. "Look, I'll show you 'round the school. Just promise not to tell my brother what happened, alright?" He'd be pissed if something bad happened to her. She stuck out a hand for them to shake on it.
