So, anyone want to learn about 'dem powers?

The gym room was rather plain - there were no bright and colorful motivation posters. No windows to let natural light in - or let in sight of any distractions. Nothing but four, plain white walls and air vents; and a large red mat that covered the majority of the floor - aside from a set of bleachers up against the back of the room. Waiting for the students, leaning up against the wall near the door, stood a tall man - younger than most of the other teachers around campus. The end of his lit cigarette reflected in his sunglasses as it hung in his mouth, both hands shoved in his pockets. "Take a seat." He said nonchalantly, looking at the first student to walk in.

Wren walked into the Gym, her hair tied tightly in a top not and her mouth pressed tightly together. She hated going to class, seeing that her time would be better spent taking pictures and dancing. But, here she was and stomped her way to the bleachers, yawning quietly at the lack of activities throughout her day. Sitting down she looked around at the other students and waited for the lesson.


Noa, on the other hand, took a more quiet approach. She slinked into the gym quietly, hiding her blushing cheeks with a long curtain of dark hair. Being someone who loved her power, she was excited to learn to train it and model it into something that could become really special. Yet, she didn't understand why they were in the gymnasium of all places? Hopefully they weren't going to be fighting, Noa was a lousy fighter. Actually, Noa was lousy at any interaction at all, which was why when the teacher gave his instructions, she quickly followed his direction and took a seat on an empty set of bleachers.

Lotte was surprised by the man's assertive tone. She sat down in the bleachers, metallic clanging heard as she went to the top along with Ethel. She made sure to leave room for the ghost at the edge of the bleachers, and placed a hand gingerly on her lap as to show the seat is taken and prevent anyone from sitting on the ghost. Lotte smiled at the teacher but said nothing, waiting for other students to fill the seats.

Colette arrived pretty early, not wanting to be late for her first Gym class. Her hands were crossed over each other as she found a lower seat, looking down. She did not want to make the teacher start talking to her, as she was not in the mood for small talk. She was never very willing to talk, mostly out of necessity than sheepishness. She just looked down at her legs, coughing slightly.

Oliver came in and smiled at the teacher. "Morning." he said, marching up to take a seat in the middle of the bleachers. He rubbed his gloved hands together and looked around the room at the students, seeing a girl placing her hand on the spot beside her. Was she waiting for someone? It wasn't as if the room was necessarily full. He stretched, yawning as he was reminded of the lack of sleep he had the previous night. Most schoolgoers had this problem, and he was no different. When he looked and caught a glimpse of Wren, however, he smiled, wondering if he should go over and sit next to her. He thought better of it, assuming she had friends she'd much rather be with at the moment.

Evelyn slowly walked in, taking one step in front of the other. Her eyes darted around the plain room before resting momentarily on the man. Was he a teacher? He looked... well, young. She looked at the cigarette hanging from his mouth and the black sunglasses on his face. What kind of role model was that? Was that even allowed? She frowned, remembering where she was. This was the same school that handed out free weapons and let the students walk around with them on campus.

Looking down on the floor, she slowly began to ascend the bleachers while trying to make as little noise as possible. Evelyn got the feeling she wouldn't like this very much. Gift Mastery. Evelyn sat down, far away from the other students with her mind racing. She stared down through the gaps between the metal steps. She secretly longed to be down there, hidden away, than being stuck in a room with all of these people...

Walking past the gym doors after the other students started to file inside, Renard slipped inside and tipped his head, narrowing his eyes at the teacher as he passed by. He was not a fan of smoking, so he wasn't too pleased to have to sit in a class with a smoker, but it was just one of those things he'd have to deal with, he guessed. Wasn't it illegal to smoke indoors? Regardless, he stepped up the bleachers, noticing that girl... Colette, who he had met earlier in the week, as he made his way to the top of the stands, sitting down and staring blankly down towards the bottom. Smokers...

In walked Hosa, her gaze dull as she made her way to the bleachers. Her ribs were finally healed, hooray~ But now that meant that she had to go back to her classes. Ugh. She was a little excited to learn how to control her powers and such; but she really just wanted to go back to sleep. Finding a seat in the bleachers, she sat down before resting her chin on her hand. God she wanted to sleep.

A few moments later; Netro walked in, his eyes bright. He had been waiting for this class ever since he got here; after all the whole reason all of them were here was to learn how to control their gifts. He sat down in one of the front rows of the bleachers, ready to go.

Brant walked into the gym, letting out a small huff. His gaze moved around the gym, having never been in here before. He glanced at the teacher, noting how he was younger them most of the teachers he had seen. He just shrugged as he made his way to the bleachers to find a seat. He always liked the younger teachers; mostly because they were 'in-tune' with the students because of the lack of a very big age difference. He found a seat and sat down; right next to Hosa but neither said anything as the waited for class to start.

Anyone can join late, eff why eye. The teacher gave a simple nod back to Oliver as the student passed by, watching him and the others as they all took their seats on the bleachers. He looked over each one of them, his gaze cool and calculating before standing up straight - pulling out his smoke and crushing it on the wall behind him, tossing it into a nearby bin. "Lets get started, yeah?" He said, "We'll keep this simple. My name is Barret Spion." The man paused, grabbing a clipboard and looking it over as he talked, pacing across the room. "Depending on your power, there are different ways to train it. You may have to take a head-on approach, or work in less direct ways. For example," Barret paused, picking a name out of the list of students before him. He looked and picked out Oliver. "Your cyrokinesis. It will only improve with pushing yourself. Digging deeper for more power while stressing control." He looked another way, picking out another boy. Netro. "Your power is completely in the mind. Accordingly, you should stress mental activities while exerting your gift. Music. Puzzles. The multitasking is a backdoor way of growing your skills." Of course it would be an activity that would drain them daily and would require plenty of self-discipline. If people gave up or slacked, there would've been no point in them coming to this school.
"I will give you all a task to do daily and accordingly that you are to practice when you are in this class and your free time. Every now and then, your progress will be recorded." The man frowned, "Get in a line in front of the bleachers."

Alicia had took in every word she had said with diligence, and she probably would've written it all down had she pen and paper - which might have been considered more of a spring or winter sort of habit, but when it came to important things like this, she wanted to be sure she'd be thorough. This is why she'd come here after all. After the order was given, she quietly picked up her bag and daintily stepped down, finding her place among the line.

Another young woman, however, was seemingly trying to keep her cool. Internally, though just stepping into this class - her palms were sweaty, she felt a bit sick. She was completely freaking out. This guy, he knew right? About... Yeah... What would he tell her? What would she do? She sat there, nervously wiping her hands on her skirt and staring forward. Gingerly, Lynn was the last to stand and get off the bleachers.

Jace simply stayed in his spot, kicking a few legs up and relaxing. He already knew what he had to do.

Evelyn got a nervous expression on her face, bringing her hands up to her chest. She'd never tried to control it... she'd never even thought of it, as hard as it was to go without being reminded in Beata Academy with such strange people. She'd been so busy just trying to adjust to this whole new world. Evelyn shakily stood up, taking small steps down each step while trying to draw as little attention to herself as possible. Was it even possible to control it? It was always in effect... Evelyn was sure the only person who had ever seen her normally was Kimply.

If it was possible... then did that mean... she could turn it off? Evelyn briefly thought what it'd be like to just turn it off and on at will. That would... that would be...

Evelyn gently set her foot down on the floor, as if she was testing if it was quicksand. Why was she so nervous? She wasn't sure, but she was. Her palms were sweaty and Evelyn could feel panic rising in her chest, she cast nervous glances all around the place when her gaze landed on... oh no.

Alicia? But... she was... Evelyn clenched her sleeves to her wrist and awkwardly shuffled in behind her. Pleasedon'tnoticepleasedon'tnoticepleasedon'tnotice...

Yume walked in quietly, looking around. 'Dang it, I'm late!' she thought as she grabbed her bag that was on the ground where she stopped and ran up the stairs to the bleachers and took a seat next to Colette. Staring at the teacher for a moment, she noticed that the cigarette was lit. That's an example we have to follow? Is that even allowed here? Sighing, she looked away from the teacher, blushing slightly as if she was too nervous to even be at the class.

Lilka ran in, bursting through. 'Why do I always have to forget things?!' she thought, as she went up the bleachers. Taking a seat next to Hosa, she gave out a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness I didn't miss anything important yet!" Lilka said to herself.

Colette was startled when someone sat next to her, but kept her cool, looking away from her. Her social life had taken a beating, sure, but there was no need to act like a scared rabbit. When the teacher said to line up, Colette got up slowly, doing a small jog to get into line.

Lotte was one of the first people to get up. She jumped from seat to seat, loud clanging sounds heard as she planted her feet on the actual floor, walking to the end of the line. Ethel was a bit slower, and even almost fell as she missed her footing and landed on a floor piece rather than a seat. It had scared her, but she recovered quickly, standing next to Lotte.

Oliver waited a little bit to stand, stretching. He did not want to be one of the first people to get evaluated. He wanted to see how the teacher did it and if it was really that bad or not. He never liked exhibiting himself in front of audiences, during projects and stuff like that. This was no different in his eyes. You could say he had stage fright, and he'd call it an understatement.

Renard listened semi-intently to what the teacher was saying, although his interest waned when he was mentioning others' powers. However, when he told them to get in a line, that meant Renard actually had to do something. Stretching his arms, he stood and descended down the bleachers, slipping into the line that had begun to form. Tapping his foot against the ground, he tipped his head to the side to see what was going on at the front of the line. A bunch of students lined up to learn about their powers... he could've sworn he had seen this in a movie once.

Hosa glanced at Lilka as she at down next to her. "Come on, we have to get in a line; sitting down won't do much good here." Standing up, she made her way down to the line and threw her hands into her pockets, waiting for her turn. God she hoped she didn't get a hard one.

"I heard you, I heard you," Brant muttered from his spot as he watched Hosa stand up. He had noticed Lilka sit down but hadn't really been paying much attention to who Hosa was talking to. With a grumble he stood up and followed Hosa, standing right behide her as he await for him to get to the front of the line.

Netro stood up, his hazel eyes shining. He couldn't help but wonder what he would get. He figured it would be like the person with that 'cyrokinesis' power was told he was going to get. He made his way down the bleachers and stood in the line, his mind drifting off as he waited.

Nodding, "Alright, thanks for telling me!" She said, giving an appreciative smile. Lilka headed down, after Brant, hearing him mutter. 'What's his problem?' she thought, annoyed by how ignorant he seemed. Since she really didn't know what they were doing, heading down to the teacher, she just hoped it wasn't something difficult. Taking in a breath, she accidently took in the smoke from the cigarrette, coughing a bit from the inhalation.

Seeing everyone else going down, Yume followed after Colette. Looking around to see if she could see the one person she didn't want to see - Sean. She didn't really forgive him for saving her from drowning, but yeah... I guess that was a good thing, but he wanted to do, something she would've never have thought he would try. Even if he didn't do it, she really couldn't forgive him for doing something like that.

Barret said nothing as he walked all the kids trample to get in line, or most of them anyways. Some, he noticed, were very hesitant to follow through. Those would be the ones with trouble. With no dedication, no progress would be made. And then there were those who had even failed to come to class on time. Already, with a shake of his head, he near considered them not worth the effort.

"Alright." He said, walking up to the first person and looking at her up and down - noticing the clear empty space next to her. He looked at Lotte's file and nodded; having planned their training all before class. "Charlotte and Ethel. Your gift is quite complex." He commented, "Relying on each other in both body and mind, it seems - or how it should be, anyways. Your bond is one-sided." Barret had spent a good amount of time on this one. It was some sort of advanced mediumship, nothing he had seen before. "Charlotte, you can harness Ethel's energy and use it, but can she do it to you like-wise?" The teacher questioned, "For now, I want you to start lending your body to her. The only way your power will improve is if you close the distance between yourselves and work together in everything. Take turns practicing your psychic skills." If they practiced long enough, Lotte could use Ethel's spirit flawlessly - and Ethel could become a physical force in her ghost like state; and vice-versa when their places were switched. As far as he knew.
Out of all the cases here, the two of them would have to have been the most difficult.

Barret stepped back and looked over his paperwork again, his eyes lifted up and catching the gazes of a few certain students through his shades. "You." He started, pointing at Colette, quickly moving on. "Kid with the suiting last name... Fortune Teller... And you girls who thought you could come in late." He finished. Netro, Alicia, Yume, and Lilka. "I want all of you to find secondary activities. Read a book. Play an instrument. Or just go somewhere quiet and meditate. While focusing on whatever it is your doing, try to work your power with moderation. It'll be slow and steady. Over time, you will see improvements." He paused, looking at one name in his list again, turning back to Colette. "In your case, you should be alone. If your power is off, focus on activating it. If its on, focus on turning it off." Her gift of mind control itself would only be able to be practiced on when she was able to obtain the will to control it.

Finished with them, he picked out a few more names. Oliver. Renard. Hosa. Brant. Wren. "For you, nothing will be shown unless you give anything but hard work and concentration." Barret said, shoving one hand back in his pocket. "I imagine that using your powers before has been rather difficult growing up. Don't want people staring? Have no fear of that here. Everyday, I only want your goal to be to push yourselves and your gifts. Get the willpower and face your blocks head-on. Dig a little deeper every time." If anything happened, they had their infirmary and their talented nurse. Brant try to get his flames a little bigger. Oliver try and produce larger snowballs. It was the only way, really.

And lastly, his gaze settled on Brailynn and - Well... He frowned and looked down at his clipboard again. Evelyn? Was she even here? He looked up and down the line of students a few times before noticing a gap between Alicia and another student that he had somehow looked over easily more than once during this entire time. For a few moments, he said nothing. To his knowledge, they were considered the lost causes. He focused hard, keeping his gaze on Evelyn for as long as he could. "Don't bother coming to class, if you'd like." Barret said simply.

The teacher stepped back to get a good look at them all, "Like I said, I expect you all to take it upon yourselves to train everyday. If you'd like, any of you are free to come to me while I'm here if you'd like some one on one training." With that, he threw his clipboard back against the wall and turned away; leaving them to do what they pleased - or what he expected them to do.

Evelyn was only half listening to Barret when his gaze finally rested on her. She could feel her heart soaring and her heart beating like a drum in her chest. Alicia and her surroundings temporarily forgotten, she stood a little bit taller on her toes as if the lightness in her chest was going to make her float towards the ceiling. She could train it. She could switch it on when she wanted to be unseen and become... noticeable. People would be able to notice her. It'd become a real gift, a real blessing. What would she be doing to train it? Evelyn let her mind race when Barret finally opened his mouth.

. . . what?

Crushed. Her hands fell limply to her sides and she simply stared for a couple of moments with wide violet eyes. Evelyn could feel her eyes sting and lip beginning to quiver as Barret turned around. Stupid... what were you expecting? Thoughts muddled and spirit dampened, she began to shuffle towards the door and held her shaking hands to her chest as she tried her hardest not to make a sound, fighting herself for every small step she took towards the door. This was alright... she didn't need to come here anymore... a whole extra hour to herself, right? She could replace this class if she needed something to do anyways...

Clenching her eyes shut, she suddenly pushed one of the doors open with all of her weight and broke into a run down the hallway.
