A Date? [For Ice]

So he was supposed to be meeting the girl he was assigned to here? Rob was leaning against a tree in the shade of a bright day. He looked at the small piece of paper in his hand. It read:
It didn't really tell him much about who he was paired with, but the school said they wouldn't just randomly pair people together, and that they had some method to their madness. It's not like he was super concerned, as long as she didn't expect him to do a whole bunch. He figured they could just chill and talk to each other or something. He wasn't ever good at this dating thing. Well he could decently flirt, but he didn't know this girl. He had a small heart shaped box of chocolates for her as an attempt to celebrate this holiday. He hoped this wouldn't go badly.

How stupid, love experts? Pfft, they probably did the opposite of what they said, but then again, Maria would've done the same. Besides, what fun is it to be pared with practically the same person? She'd spent that morning prettying herself up just in case the person she was meeting turned out to be decent. She wasn't the best at giving presents, so she brought a simple box of chocolates. What did guys like to receive anyway? Unlike Freya, Maria never had one particular boyfriend that she got attached to, she preferred to toy with all of them. Boys are like a piece of gum. When they lose their flavor... you just pop a new one in!

She walked out to the courtyard, following the snippet of instructions that were on the paper. They could've at least been more precise on the time. The courtyard was quiet, except for the slight breeze and chirp of birds. Rounding a corning she spotted a lonely boy. Guess this is it... She gave a sigh, and fixed her hair. "You must be Robert?" The charming girl asked walking up to him with a fake smile, hiding her anger for the situation.

Rob blinked when he heard his name and looked up at the girl in front of him. She looked nice. "Just call me Rob, if you don't mind. Robert sounds a bit too formal." He said, standing up off the tree. "I'm guessing you're Maria then? You look nice." He said complimenting her on her appearance. He looked nicer than he usually did, but it wasn't too much of anything. He didn't want to look too formal, or too casual. It was weird.

He wasn't that bad... Maria looked the boy over. "Thanks." She stated without the same enthusiasm as before. "Okay Rob. So I'm assuming they paired us up for the eharmony thing?" She asked, tilting her head. "Anyway, we can't change anything so here." She handed the boy the box of chocolates.

He couldn't help but crack a smile at what she had gotten him. It seemed they thought a like, though the brand he got her was slightly different than was she had gotten him. Though they probably contained the same types of chocolate. He took the box then handed her the one he got for her. "It seems great minds think alike." He said with a slight chuckle. "And Yes they did pair us together. What would you like to do with the time we have?"

At least he wasn't some nerdy guy. Maria gave a small laugh at his comment. What to do... What to do... She thought for a few moments but her mind went blank. What do you do with a guy you just met? Usually she would ask if he smoked, or crap like that but it was valentines day, so this guy was here for a different reason. "Uh, I don't really know." She replied. "The matchmakers could've at least given us a more exciting place to hang out."

"Well usually the premise of a first date is to get to know the person you are on the date with. Talking and relaxing would be perfectly fine with me" He said as he slumped back against the tree. "You are free to ask me anything if this is what you would like to do." Rob didn't want to make the girl uncomfortable, or anything, but he couldn't exactly decided on something exciting to do without getting to know the girl a little bit first.

Maria gave a sigh. Of course she made a fool of herself, great first impression. She sat down on the short brick wall that lined the plant beds and thought about some questions. Well, of course there were the obvious questions so she might as well ask those. "What's your power?" It was a lame start, but at least it was something.

He hadn't meant to make a fool of her, he was just a bit to analytical sometimes. He let out a small hum as he enjoyed the weather. "My gift is telekinesis, it doesn't really need explaining.. Cause most people have heard of it." He said. "What is your gift? I'm guessing a pretty lady such as yourself has a pretty unique gift." He said with a bit of flirting thrown in there just cause this was a date.

Yep, a true flirt. Well, he'd past her test so now it was time to loosen up. "That's cool. I have requip." She said and didn't know how to really explain it so she thought it was better to show him. With a flash of light, a wallet appeared in her hand.

He watched her through the one eye he could actually see through at the moment. At first he didn't get her gift, but then realized what she meant when she pulled out the wallet. "That seems pretty cool, and pretty useful. I can just magically move things around, no place to store anything useful." He said to the girl. "What do you like to do around here?" He asked.

Shit. Could she tell him what she liked to do? No... They just met. He would think she was a total slut or something. "I guess I like sparing or hanging out with my dorm mates. They're pretty cool." She replied. At least is wasn't a lie, right?

He didn't like sparring, he didn't like any violence, well at least towards him. If it was directed anywhere else he didn't really care. If there was violence directed towards him, he would use his skills, and his gift to dodge everything. "That is a good thing, I like being lazy, and my gift allows me to do that most of the time. Occasionally I like to go out any try some different things. I can tell you that Rock climbing is decently fun."

"I've never rock climbed, sounds... interesting." But more work than it's worth. "Ya, I usually don't use my gift that often. Well, actually, that's an understatement." Maria sat there, starting to grow a little... bored. "I know sitting around chatting may be "fun" and all, but why don't we go do something?"

"I don't mind doing something, do you have something in mind?" He honestly had no clue on what to do. The only thing the autumn boy could think of is the game lounge, but did she even like video games? He could not be lazy during this time, at least to let the girl have a good date. "And your gift must be fun to mess around with. Hell a lot of gifts seem pretty cool."
