A Foody Flirtation [Closed]

Will was starving. He had been practicing with his power by punching a wall and absorbing the kinetic energy from that and the release of that stored kinetic energy drained him and made him incredibly hungry. He didn't feel like going to the Cafe or the Bakery so the Cafeteria was the next best option. He headed in and made his way to the food station, where he loaded his plate with various foods, including a slice of pizza, a small hamburger, and fries. He found a relatively empty part of the cafeteria. He enjoyed semi-quietness while he was eating, but he wouldn't be opposed to new people coming over and sitting next to him.

Emelia had no appetite. She had to force herself out of bed and to look presentable for the day, and that was an accomplishment in itself. Forcing some food into her system was the next bet. She made her way through the line and noticed how packed the place was. She didn't feel like interacting with a whole table of new people, so she tried to find somewhere she could sit alone. Grabbing her caesar salad, she stopped and looked around the cafeteria for a place to sit. The only place that wasn't packed was at a table with a blond, friendly looking boy, so she figured sitting next to him wouldn't kill her.

Placing her tray on the table across from him, Emelia gave the stranger a slight smile as she sat down. "Do you mind if I sit here?" She asked lightly.

The Autumn looked up from his burger at the sound of a girl's voice. He was pleasantly surprised by what he saw. She had that nervous-cute look to her that caused him to put on a charming smile. "Not at all, I had just sat down myself." He took another bite of his burger before setting it down. It wasn't the best food in the world, but he's had worse.

Once he proved to be friendly and not opposed to her joining him, Emelia relaxed a bit more. She used her fork to poke at her salad, but found no interest in actually eating it. Putting that aside, she tried to distract herself with conversation. "I'm Emelia, hi."

"I'm Will, nice to meet you." he said, taking another bite. He noticed that she wasn't really eating her salad. "Not really hungry?" he asked her, motioning to her salad with a french fry. He placed the fry into his mouth after dunking it in ketchup, realizing that the fries were better than the burger itself.

At his observation, Emelia flushed and hid her face a bit. Because of her power, the poison in her system was making her more and more sick, and she'd rarely had an appetite lately. But she wasn't going to tell some random stranger that the doctors told her she was slowly dying and there was really nothing to do. That would put a damper on any casual lunch chat. "Uh, I'm just a bit sick is all. Not feeling too hungry. It's not contagious or anything though, no worries."

The Autumn nodded. "Maybe you should rest. Sleeping usually helps me when I'm sick." he said, completely unaware of the circumstances of Emelia's sickness. Finishing up the burger and fries, he moved on to the slice of pizza that he had. It was just plain cheese, which is one of Will's quirks. He didn't like toppings on his pizza. "You know, I have a perfectly good bed you can use if you don't want to use yours." he said, winking.

OOC: That was really bad. Flirting isn't my strongsuit, forgive.

Emelia nodded. She would sleep, and she did a lot these days, but it had come to the point where that was all she really did. She was in a funk she was trying to pull herself out of it. She was about to open her mouth and reply when he continued, his tone automatically moving to obvious flirtation. Surprised, Emelia let out a short laugh. To be fair, she had heard her fair share of bad pick up lines, but this would definitely make the top ten. "Thanks mate, but my bed is perfectly fine." She was a bit amused, and almost hoped he'd keep pushing the topic, just to see what he'd say.

Will layered on the charm. "Aww come on, my bed has all the amenities. You'd love it." he said, smiling his most charming smile. "All the girls do." He continued to eat his pizza while looking at the girl. She seemed to be immune to his charm, which was rare for a kid like him. Although, it could be because back home everyone knew he was rich. He figured that his money was part of the reason girls liked him so much, which is why committed relationships are a big no-no in Will's life.

Emelia smiled again, thoroughly enjoying the conversation. It was the most interesting thing to happen to her in a while. "Does it have cup holders? Because if it doesn't, I'll have to turn down the very tempting offer." Sarcasm was obvious in her tone as she raised an eyebrow and took a bite of her salad. "And anyway, I can assure you I'm not one of those girls." In fact, she had more interest in those girls than she did this boy.

Will snapped his fingers in mock defeat. "Rats. You got me." he said, the smile remaining on his face. "Anyway, it doesn't hurt to try." When she said that she wasn't one of those girls he nearly laughed. That's almost exactly what everyone else said.

Now that she could see him giving up a little more, she decided to totally shut him down. Poor guy. Emelia was fairly certain he wasn't used to girls turning him down, as his confidence was as high as hell. Or, heaven? Since heaven was high and hell was low- aside the point. Sighing dramatically, Emelia put her fork down and looked at Will. "The only problem is, when I say I'm not like other girls, I really mean it. I'm not like other girls. I like other girls."

That news came out of left field and surprised him. He nearly choked on the pizza he had just swallowed. "Oh. Ohh. Oh. You really aren't like the other girls then." he said, getting his composure back. "Oh well, I gave it a shot. No harm done, I hope?"

Emelia burst out laughing at his reaction, and couldn't stop for a few moments. She covered her mouth as she laughed and it nearly brought tears to her eyes. Once she finally began to gain her composure again, she spoke, still finding this all very amusing. "No, I'm really not."

Emelia could only acknowledge the attempt, and he gave it a good one, though the pick up lines could use work. Not that she was an expert flirter herself, as she really had no reason to be, since she couldn't really kiss any girl or go any further than that, what with being poisonous and all. "You gave it a good attempt, that deserves some respect. And no harm done. In fact, you honestly made my day, mate. I bet you're not used to gals turning you down." She gave him a wink, but it wasn't flirty like his, moreso poking fun at him.

Will laughed with her. This was a new experience. "Most girls don't reject me because back home everybody knows that I'm loaded and the girls at home are shallow as fuck. But hey, it's good fun, and nothing serious. They don't normally come back." he said. "Fine by me, saves me the awkward breakup speech." he added, chuckling. He wasn't good with breakups.
