| It was early, perhaps earlier then he should of arrived but it didn't bother Theodore as he stood in the shadow of the school. His brown eyes dimly reflected the rays of morning. His eyes blinked, attempting to hide how tired he was but he couldn't escape the haunting of sleep - perhaps it was a bit to early for this but it didn't matter now. He was here and his ride home had already left. He bunched up his shoulders against the chilly morning air of fall, one hand lazily messing with the string of his sweater as he pondered on what to do. After a few moments he dropped the cord of his sweater and stepped forward, tugging on his suitcase as it dipped ever so slightly to balance on its wheel and follow after him with a soft hum of the turning of the wheels on the sidewalk. He held back a yawn, slightly surprised to be so sleepy despite the cold air that caused him to shiver ever so slightly. He wasn't used to it being this cold at this time of year, he had grown pampered in the streets of Los Angeles. It was going to be something it was going to take a bit to get used to, but it was a small price to pay in order to learn how to master his gift. | |

| It wasn't unusual for Lev to be up as early as he was, sometimes he couldn't sleep or his stomach hurt him and he had to get up and walk around. There were some students up with him, but for the most part the school was sleepy and Lev was not. Granted, he was exhausted and wanted to sleep, the bitter air and the thoughts racing through his head kept him awake. Walking absently across campus, he listened to the quiet tap of his shoes against the hard ground and heard faint rustles of bushes and trees.
As he walked the sun slowly began to climb in the sky, waiting for the waking of the students and the sudden bustle of all the students. As he walked and listened, he picked up an odd sound. It wasn't really familiar, but it was interesting and intrigued the Spring boy. Picking up his pace slightly he headed toward the sound and found himself near the entrance. The source of the noise was a rolling suitcase, something Lev realized he should have been familiar with. "You arrived early. You are new, yes?" Lev asked, approaching the new student slowly.

| The sound of a voice caused Theodore to halt, his suitcase bumping into his leg as he flinched. It seemed he wasn't lucky enough to avoid people...Ah, so much for his whole reason for arriving as early as he did. He took in a deep breath, quickly recollection himself as he turned his head to the source of the voice - a gray-haired boy that was approaching him slowly. The question he asked seemed like an obvious one - Theodore wasn't wearing a uniform and had a suitcase with him. But, he supposed he could also be mistaken as a student returning from vacation or something. He sighed slowly before forcing a slight smile. "Yes, I am." Despite the smile, his voice came off cold. He knew it and he didn't care. He always preferred to be on his lonesome...However he doubt he would get much time for peace and quiet at a school like this. | |

| It was always curious meeting new students, Lev enjoyed finding competition in every corner, though making new friends was also a good idea. Plus, it helped keep his mind off of everything else when he spoke to someone else, so he ignored the clearly hostile mannerisms of the other boy. "That is cool. What is your name?" Lev tried to create a conversation but it was very hard to do when he had no idea what to say and the boy didn't seem to want to talk at all. | |

| A flash of surprised flickered across Theodore's face as the boy seemed to ignore his hostile words. It wasn't something he was used to, then again he wasn't very keen on socializing...He smiled ever so softly as he tugged on the handle of his suitcase, tilting it slightly for easy rolling as he shrugged. "My name is Theodore - I would prefer if you refer to me as such. I am not one for nicknames," he said with a shrug as he glanced around the school yard. If the boy was going to attempt to talk to him he might as well humor him. He turned his gaze to the boy as he started to walk forward - slowly so the boy would know that Theodore was simply trying not to waste time by talking in place instead of hurrying to get away from him. Of course that thought did cross his mind..."I suppose I should ask for your name as well." | |

| Lev wanted to talk with someone, so ignoring the angry way the boy spoke was his first thought. It seemed to have a better effect than he thought it would. "It is nice to meet you. I am Lev." Using no nickname was fine with Lev, he could respect what people wanted. He began walking a bit as Theodore did, not minding continuing the walk he had been on before. "If you do not mind my asking, what is your gift?" | |

| Lev. A simple name but it served its purpose he supposed. The boy - Lev, seemed nice enough. Thoughtful enough to say that it was 'nice to meet' him along with noting that there was the chance that Theodore would not want to talk about his gift. He was sure that the idea of talking about ones gift would be a...Touchy subject to some. With every simple gift, there was a complex one to mirror it. Some people would have good experiences and some would have bad. It was simple enough to see why one would not be willing to share the information of what made them truly special here at Beata. There was so many different reactions one could have to such a simple ice-breaker question (at least simple when you went to Beata), but luckily Theodore held no ill-will toward his gift.
"Shadow mimicry," he answered bluntly. He paused, taking a few steps of silence before he turned his head just slightly to look at Lev though the corner of his eye. No doubt Lev would wonder how his gift worked so he thought he might as well explain."If I am standing in a shadow, I can drop into it - become one with it, really. It is not something I can hold for long and it gives me a headache doing so - its an odd feeling turning into a shadow as one could imagination but..." he drifted off slightly as he turned his gaze back to the school that was looming over them now as they drew every closer to the front doors. "It is my gift - my burden I suppose - and I am here to learn how to master it... Now, I reflect the question onto you. I have shared my gift, it seems only right you tell me yours as well. Common ground, or what not." He said the last part with a faint wave of his hand for added emphasis.
