A wee bit too small [closed]

So far, his time at Beata had been pretty crappy. First off, everyone had been constantly questioning why he was at this school since he was so young, and as much as he told them, they wouldn't admit that they'd believed him. Even his teachers discretely made fun of him during class. Then, some idiot decided it'd be funny to trip him near the top of some stairs, so he had a "fun" time visiting the nurse's office. He would've tried to transfer out of the school when it all first started happening, but his parents insisted that he should stay here and no matter how much Chance pleaded, they wouldn't allow it.

Letting out a sigh, the six year old walked around to the courtyard, already tired. Who knew walking from his dorm to the courtyard was such a long walk! The sun shown high in the sky and was honestly a bit too hot for his taste and looking around with his eyes squinted, he spotted a bench. Finally! A place to stop and rest! Waddling like a toddle does, he made his way to the bench, put his hands on it, and attempted to hoist himself up. With the upper strength of a child, he failed and fell on his bum, hitting the ground with his fist. Stupid kid body! Getting up, he tired again, and again, but the bench was just too tall. Tearing up, Chance sniffed, feeling like crap and prayed that no one was watching him be the award little kid that he was.

Michelle was in her own world as she strolled though the Courtyard. Her head bobbed to music that only she could hear thanks to her headphones and her eyes were plastered on the hologram that she had summoned before her. She had gotten really good at getting this part of her gift down - she could hold it as much as a minute before she was forced to dismiss it. Only doing anything more then that greatly wore down the time, so she was forced to simply stare at the data that fed into her hologram screen wishing that she could do something more...Exciting with her gift. When her minute was up, she let it disappear into the air as she sighed.

Then something else had caught her attention. She had barely missed it, having almost walked pass a young kid seeming very upset that he wasn't tall enough to climb onto the bench. She came to a stop, blinking as she pulled down the headphones - which amazingly weren't tangled up in her mess of curly blonde hair. "You...Okay, kid?" she asked, half unsure of what to say. She wasn't good people and she was very much not good with kids. But the kid was clearly upset and she couldn't just walk pass. So, here she was standing uncertainly in the middle of the Courtyard as she waited for a response.

Okay first of all, Elliott wasn't lost.

He paused his meandering to sniff a strange flower and discreetly glance around the courtyard. Now was it that pathway to the left or that one to the right the entrance he had just walking in moments before? He awkwardly shuffles to the next flower, trying to take a glance at the other side. It looks exactly the same god dammit.

Soooo maybe he was just a tiny bit lost.

Elliott sighed and stood up straight, rubbing his nose. He glanced around the courtyard and feels a glimmer of hope when he sees the two people by a bench near by. Sucking up his pride and putting on his best "I'm-actually-really-cool-what-are-you-talking-about" face, he walks toward them.

Turning around to see a girl looking at him with a raised brow, he let out a huff. "I fine," he mumbled, which was a total lie. Who was he kidding, he was never fine. Letting out a sigh, he let go of the chair and stumbled to his feet, looking at her with his wide, child eyes. "Too short," he whimpered softly, letting out a sniff. Well, screw the bench, now he was focused on the girl. Being so cute, he was always stealing girl's hearts, which was one of the perks of being this small and adorable. Making his eyes start to tear up and quivering his bottom lip ever so slightly, he didn't let his gaze leave the girl's.

Um...Michelle was taken aback by the kid's first response of muttering at her before he stood up and suddenly attempted to turn his cute meter all the way up. She was thrown off, staring at the kid's puppy-dog eyes and quivering lip as she flickered her eyes from him to the bench then back again. Wait, did he want her to pick him up and put on the bench? She...Admitted he was pretty cute when he did that but she had never been around kids before. Besides, something nagged her in the back of the mind about this whole situation but she couldn't place her fingers on it. She opened her mouth, attempting to form a response when by a saving grace - something caught her attention.

Her gaze broke away from the young boy to somebody who looked to be about the same age of her strolling toward them. A sigh of relief left her as she force on a smile on her face as she studied the boy. He had dark brown hair with a pair of lighter brown eyes. He seemed to be just slightly taller then her, but she was cool with that as she welcomed the older company. "Hello," she said as she started to fidget with her headphones. She wasn't always that fond of other people but she did suppose that any company was better then being alone with a kid. She really didn't like kids all that much.

As he got closer, Elliott was able to distinguish the two people better. A little boy with brown hair was by the bench and a cute girl with blonde curls was at his side. After hearing the girl's greeting, Elliott waves back. Never having been one to think before they speak, he says,"Hey, do you happen to have a map? I seem to have gotten lost in your eyes." Elliott cracks a smile as he walks closer and mentally gives himself a pat on the back. If he was going to admit to being lost he's at least gotta be smooth about it.

Finally getting to the bench where the two strangers were sitting, Elliot suddenly notices the puppy dog xtreme face from the little kid. At home, he was the eldest of four siblings, so dealing with youngsters came easily to him. With big brother instincts kicking in, Elliot quickly drops down on a knee so he could be on the same eye level as the child. "You okay little bud? You lost?"

Oh great, another guy to ruin his plans. Trying to keep his cute smile although he was a bit annoyed, Chance looked up to the other guy. "Not lost," he commented plainly as the other student got down to his level. Another thing that pissed him off about being this small, people acted as if they had to be at his level, but then again, they had every right to, for it was what people usually did with small children.

Looking back to the girl, Chance wondered what to do next. Well, it was worth a shot. Holding out his arms with a big grin on his face, his gaze didn't leave the girl's. "Up!" the small child giggled, motioning to her arms in hopes of being picked up.

Michelle's hope of this not being awkward was thrown out the window when the first words from the guy's mouth. The blatantly - yet admittedly smooth - attempt to flirt left her with a sharp blush on her face as any words she was about to say just disappeared from her mouth. She reeled back in surprise as she attempted to come up with a response. She was a nerd by all accounts - she wasn't used to really anybody flirting with her...Well, other then that Jake guy on the first day of school.

Then there was the six-year old. He quickly brushed off Smooth McFlirt and was back at trying to get Michelle to pick him up. While she had been hoping her day would get more exciting, the sudden turn it took was throwing her off as she glanced between the two. Something about the six-year old bothered her. She stared down at the boy with a studying look as she frowned. "Um..." It was all she managed to say before in her frazzled state, a holographic screen popped into existence before her.

She winced at the sudden intake of data that flooded though her mind and thus the screen as she quickly waved a hand though the dull blue screen in an attempt to dismiss it. However, it refused to disappear whence it came making her sigh loudly as she attempted to ignore it, managing to push it off to the side so it floated to her left until hopefully she would get tired enough and it would disappear on its own. It would be a taxing time until then thought. Her eyes flickered back to the child who still so desperately wanted up. She frowned slightly before she sighed, quickly turning and scooping him up only to sit him down on the bench before taking a step back. She didn't like children - she wasn't going to hold him. he was trying to get up on the bench so she figured that was why he wanted her to pick him up.

Now, to deal with the other one. Her eyes turned to him as she gave him a soft, thought slightly forced smile. Upon deciding to outright ignore his flirting attempt, she found the words she wanted came much more easily to her. "I don't have a map but I do know my way around. I can led you to wherever you need to go." Part of her wasn't very keen on that suggestion as she feared it would be filled with more flirt attempts but if she ignored him...She figured she would be fine. All she had to hope that she wouldn't keep getting thrown off a bunch and thus would keep summoning her holographic screen. It was really tiring keeping it up - even now when it refused to listen to her order to disappear.

Elliott can't say that he wasn't a bit offended when the small looking child blatantly ignored his question in favor of the girl. Who was supposed to be the big bro here? Who was supposed to be the cool dude? He narrowed his eyes at the sucker. At least the lack of pain at the back of his skull told Elliott that the kid wasn't lying. But then what is he doing here? "Whatever then little guy," Elliott mumbled mostly to himself, watching in amusement as the girl uncomfortably picked him up and placed him on the bench.

He almost does a double take when he noticed the holographic screen next to the girl's head. Sure he's heard about people having fancy technological gifts but he's never actually seen anyone with such gifts before-especially since he just arrived at Beata. Elliott's hand itched to reach out and touch the blue screen, but just as his hand slowly reached up, the girl's voice interrupted his thoughts. Elliot snaps back upright, right hand feigned to itch his neck. Her expression seems forced-was his forwardness not appreciated again? Oops. "Uh, yeah that would be extremely nice," he said. "Though I don't really know where I need to go? Also-" He glances back at the little kid. "Do you think we need to get this little guy to his parents?" He frowned a bit. There was something abnormal about the kid he hadn't noticed before. If only he could place his finger on it...

For a moment Chance thought that his dream would actually come true but those happy feelings didn't last very long, for without warning, he was set down on the bench. How dare she just dismiss him like that! Crossing his arms, Chance put on his pouty face while the girl and the other guy chatted away. Eavesdropping on their conversation because he didn't really have any choice but to listen, there was something said about showing the other guy around and... taking him to his parents? Ha! In their dreams. Unfortunately for them, they didn't know that Chance was a student and not just a lost kid, but he stayed quiet. Besides, what would be the fun in telling them who he really was? Might as well let them go on a wild goose chase, for it meant more fun for him!

Looking up to the taller students with big eyes, he let his frown ebb away and a happy grin sat on his small face. Holding out his arms towards the girl, he let out his cutest possible giggle, the one that always captured the hearts of girls, no matter how stubborn they may be. "Chance want to come!" the small child chirped, not wanting to be left behind.

Michelle was relieved that she managed to keep the boy from touching her screen - not that anything would of come from it. It was a hologram - his hand would of pass righted though it. The small smile she had on her face flickered when he admitted that he didn't know where he was suppose to go but...If he was a new student, then the front office was the answer. But when he bought upon the idea that they should find the kid's parent she spared a glance at the young boy as he chirped that he wanted to go. "Uh...Well, he claims he isn't lost, right? So maybe his parents know where he is but..." she drifted off for a few seconds as she registered what the kid had called himself. Chance? What kind of name was Chance? She...Decided to brush it off as she glanced back at the younger boy, leaning down slightly so that she was more or less the same height of him. "Say...Um...Chance, was it? Are your parents going to be back soon?"

Elliott tilted his head a bit to the side. "Yeah, Chance, if your parents are going to be looking for you soon you probably shouldn't come with us. What if they can't find you later?" He questions the kid. Something about Chance was still rubbing him the wrong way. Every action he did seemed to be plotted out and every step devious for a child his age. What is this kid? Some genius mastermind? Or maybe Elliott was over thinking this. None the less, he hoped that Chance would stop getting this overly smart glint in his eye. Real smarts or not it was freaking Elliott out.

Gritting his teeth, Chance tried to contain his anger. Why would these people want to leave him behind? "No! Chance have no parents," the small boy answered, stomping his foot on the bench. When it came to trying to explain to people that he was a student, Chance always had to be prepared for some doubtful thoughts, and although he was always mad that people treated young children like they knew nothing, he let out a sigh and tried to calm down. He couldn't blame them for doubting his words, but they could at least try. "I a student, I attend this school," the boy answered, ready for them to start laughing or give him a "you tried" pat on his head.

When Chance dropped his bombshell Michelle blinked as she straighten up with a half open mouth. For a second, she didn't want to believe him - that seemed rather far-fetched but the glimmer of her holographic screen caught the corner of her eye and reminded her that she could summon a hologram at will - really nothing was out of reason in this world. So, even thought she felt unsure about this thing she felt that perhaps he was telling the truth...Her eyes flickered toward the other person to see what his option on this claim as her holographic screen finally faded away, and she sighed softly with the relief as the pressure in her head wore off.

Elliott crossed his arms and waited for the tickling sensation at the base of his skull that told him when someone was lying. After a few beats of absolutely nothing, Elliot frowned and squinted even harder at the kid.

He spoke slowly, "Okaaaay..." He believed this Chance guy alright. Well-- fine. It was more like he believed his specialty, and if his specialty believed in Chance-thenl-he doesn't really have a reason not to. After all, his powers have never failed him before. "So how old are you exactly, Chance?"
