False assumptions [closed]

Sitting on his dorm room couch, Renji's eyes were glued to the television, but his mind was hardly on the show that he was watching. Early that day, a girl named Elena had been kind enough to help him out with math and in return, he'd invited her to come hang out with him at his dorm, seeing that it was the least he could do for her in return. Luckily for the Winter, she'd easily agreed, and when school got out, he'd rushed to the dorm to straighten the place up. He'd checked the cabinets to make sure that they would have snacks, and was glad that everything was just recently restocked. Since he was rooming with a couple of girls, Renji didn't have to do much actual cleaning, and just made sure nothing gross or weird was lying around the common area.

Having also spruced himself up a bit, Renji had put his medium lengthed orange hair into a ponytail and was now seated in front of the T.V. watching a show about a jazz band touring Chicago while he waited for the girl to arrive, hoping that she wasn't one of those people to suddenly bail out on plans. 'Nah, she'd too good for that,' he reassured himself, picking up the remote and turning the volume down so that he could hear her when she knocked on the door. Thank God he'd needed help with math or else the two of them might have not met, and seeing that life was pretty bland right now, having a girl that wasn't one of his stubborn dorm mates come over was a real treat.

It was a little bit after since the classes had ended. Elena decided to head to her dorm for a little before going to Renji's, to finish up on the work she didn't finish in class. The summer wasn't really sure what time Renji said to meet him but he did give her his dorm number so she figured it would be fine for her to head over when she was finished. After Elena finished with her work she grabbed her bag and headed over towards the fridge, glancing at the food she had stored in there. 'I wonder what would be a good snack to bring to Renji's..' after thinking about it she pulled out some carrots. 'Nothing beats eating healthy!' Elena grabbed her mathbook and headed out to Renji's dorm when she had reached the room number he gave her she knocked. "Helloooo~~ Renji?"

Unconsciously listening to the TV and half falling asleep, Renji's head shot up from where it rested on his arm and he looked around at the sound of a knock on the dorm door. Who would be asking to come in this early after school? Had his roommates forgotten their keys?

Dazed and confused, it didn't take long for it to hit him. Elena was coming over, and he'd almost fallen asleep!

Jumping up from the couch, Renji made his way to the door and ran a hand over his hair that was put into a ponytail, making sure no loose strands were sticking out. Opening the door, he was met by a smiling brunette. "Hey! Glad you could make it," the relatively tall student greeted her with a smile and held the door open for her. "Come in, make yourself at home," he chuckled, glad that she'd shown up like they'd planned.

As she waited outside his door Elena checked her phone, she didn't get any new messages. How dissapointing. As the door creaked open she had put her phone away and smiled when she saw Renji's face. "Hey!" She greeted him with a bright smile. The brunette went in at renji's invitation and glanced around the dorm. "Wow nice! very clean!" Elena had said a little surprised since her dorm-mates were a little messy. She glanced back over at Renji and waved her bag of carrots. "I brought some fooooood~" She said cheerfully.

Glad that she seemed genuinly excited to come over, Renji was able to breathe. Closing the door, Renji ran a hand over his hair. "Haha, thanks! I didn't want any tripping hazards lying around," he chuckled and made his way over to the little kitchen. Grabbing two glasses, he set them onto the counter and turned around to see the girl holding up a bag of carrots. "My favorite color is orange, how did you know?" Renji teased. Sliding over to the fridge, he looked over his shoulder and back to his guest. "What would you like to drink? We've got lemonade, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, or... water."
