The quiet dude, just shut up of rain had faded all but to a soft background noise as it tapped against their bedroom window. In the warmth of summer, a storm was just about the last thing anyone in Rosebury had expected, but he had been well to welcome it - an excuse to take the day easy and curl up in his bed early. The more sleep the better, right? Such was the plan anyways. He'd found himself tossing and turning all evening for so long, focused on the soft drops on the glass pane, a dull ache eating away at him.
But it was a feeling he had been growing used to more and more everyday. The longer he'd stayed in Rosebury, the more he felt like he was losing it, or something...
It had taken some time, but he'd finally found some peace in sleep, yet even that seemed restless. Jason often grumbled, curling up into the sheets and burying his face into his pillow.
"I'm guessing," he mumbled through his blankets. " - that ... you ..." His voice trailed off into the nothing, a low, light chuckle taking him and he curled up a little tighter against the edge of the bed. Sometimes, every now and then, he would talk some in his sleep - not enough to warrant worry, but often enough that his family never let him forget about it. Not like he could do much about it other than stuff a sock in it every night anyways. What was the worst that could happen?
A dull smile touched his lips. "Eve... lyn -," He breathed a heavy sigh. "Eat the..."
He snored.
