Round 1: Walker / O'Brien vs. Duke / Parkely

Eliza sat in the middle of the forest. Her blind eyes staring blankley ahead. She couldn't see a thing, she couldn't tell how dark it was. All she knew was that there was a ton of brush and other things around her. At least that is what her gift told her. It was honestly kind of like a static as it tried to detect all the small things. It was going to be a bit tough to navigate, but as long as she could stay focused on human shapes, and the wider open areas in this place she should be perfectly fine fighting against these two other people.

Ben swallowed loudly. He could barely see what was in front of him, let alone the people he would fight. He found himself pacing around and fidgeting with his hands. For once in his life, he would be required to use his abilities. So off his gloves came and into his pocket they went.

His thoughts kept drifting back to the girl beside him. What was her gift again? Would it be useful? Would it be deadly under his control? He couldn't remember. With a nervous laugh, he looked beside him, eyes straining to catch the form of Eliza. "I-I... This might be awkward, but we'll need to hold hands," the boy commented, his hand reaching out to grab his other arm.

A small laugh escaped Peter's lips. "Seems like one of them is nervous," he whispered, a clear smile on his face. Perched on a small branch with his hand pressed against the tree trunk was the initiate. Within seconds of arriving at the location, the spider boy began climbing a close-by tree. While his vision was shot in the dark, his was overly sensitive to the vibrations around him. There were various footsteps of all shapes and sizes. Besides the obvious pacing of his "enemy", he could feel critters and creatures lurking around the area. Hopefully this wouldn't interrupt his senses. He needed to focus on the two across the way.

The boy jumped down and gave his partner a quick pat on the back. "I think we got this."

Myles had been standing rather aloof, examining his opponents attentively when he felt contact with his back and visibly flinched, letting out an audible yelp.  He shook his thoughts clear quickly and attempted to play off his reaction with a smile, as if to affirm the other boy's belief and not to cover his immediate embarrassment at being scared by someone, his partner even, ten seconds into his first fight.  

Myles let a breath escape his lips as he reached into his pants left pocket and produced a small pill bottle, a value brand migraine relief medicine, the only stuff he could find in the Rosebury drug store.  He quickly thumbed the top off and dropped four pills into his hand, swallowing them without water, a rather disgusted look on his face as each one made it's way down his throat.  He swiftly tossed the bottle away as he rolled his shoulders and neck, hopping on his toes.  

"Let's party then."  A laugh escaped his lips as he looked towards his opponents again, muttering "I always wanted to say that."

Eliza let out a small sigh at the sound of the buzzer. "That's fine. Do whatever it is you need to do. It will also help me keep track of who is my ally and who is my enemy." That was the bad thing of her gift. She wasn't good at telling the difference just yet. her 'sight' wasn't very clear. She reached out her hand for Ben to take. Unsure of what exactly was about to go down, but she was prepared to through up a barrier any second their enemies decided to attack.

On the mark, Peter hopped back onto the tree, quickly climbing it and reaching the branches that overlooked the battlefield. With the vibrations clear in his head, the boy shot a string of webs at a nearby tree. Giving it a few quick tugs after it stuck to the branch of his choice, he leapt forward, hands gripped tight on his creation as he swung. He couldn't help but smile as a rush of adrenaline began to course through his veins.

Just like the hero his parents so aptly named him after, Peter flew towards the next tree before detaching from his Web and latching onto the bark.

He copied this actions a few times, always checking for any movement from his two opponents. As he silently grew closer, the pair came into view. Eliza stood defensively, hand outstretched towards Benjamin. While the two seemed to prepare themselves, the new student swung down once again, a web shooting from his wrist and straight towards her face. He never endorsed violence, let alone against a girl, but just this once he would allow himself some wiggle room. The brunet's legs stretched forward as he aimed to kick her down.

If all went well, her vision was blocked by his website and he would be free to know her over.

Eliza flinched somewhat as she felt something make contact with her skin. She knew something was coming towards her but she didn't know what, but now that she felt something sticky on her face she knew what it was. She lifted a hand to removed it, but she detected something else coming and erected a simple barrier to protect her from the incoming person. She might be blind already, but she wasn't going to go down that easy. "Take my hand already if that is what you need to do." She commanded in a bit more of a stern voice.

Using her gift she quickly tore off a large branch from a tree and threw it at the figure that had just attacked her, hoping he wouldn't see it coming, but he probably would.

Myles watched the spider-dude disappear and he sat sort of awestruck for a moment, a little "cool" being muttered through his impressed facial features before he lifted his shirt and reached into a sheathe that sat comfortably on his waist, unclipping a bright black and yellow fixed blade tanto.  He thumbed a button on the handle and the uppermost part of the blade flashed a thin line of bright blue,  a sharp static cutting through the air, very audibly revealing his exact position.  Myles smiled as he creeped toward the commotion ahead of him, his steps were deliberate, the ground called out to his opponents as his worn work boots broke every twig he stepped on, every pitch dark leaf.  His large build never really let his sneak all that well anyway, he WANTED the people ahead to know he was coming, after a few more steps of broadcasting his position, he sped up his pace, moving directly towards his male opponent.

He had no idea who this mystery kid's gift was, and he didn't want to tempt any spikes or much else coming out of nowhere to impale him so he closed the distance swiftly, getting to about arms length with the kid, but keeping himself restrained, he would circle the boy quietly, his smile slowly falling from his lips as his focus would be on any micromovements of the kid before him.  He played with the button on his blade, squinting quietly at the boy, preparing for their next move, his feet would be slightly staggered, his posture slightly forward, as if showing his chin to be punched, his guard would remain at his sides, seemingly to be an amateur fighter, his face and chest being completely open.

The boy's chest tightened as they were suddenly thrown into the fray. While a stranger came flying at Eliza, a boy came running up to him, a blade in his hand and ready to move at a moment's notice.

Ben, in a rush of panic, jumped and grabbed Eliza's hand, his eyes closed as he felt a surge of power flow through his body. His body curled in response as the girl's power took over. Without a word, the earth beneath them began to shake, rustling the trees and disturbing the wildlife. Pillars of stone shot out from the ground randomly, almost hitting Benjamin and his partner while forcing his opponents to flee. "A-Ah!" he exclaimed, his body straightening and his eyes wide with surprise. "W-What is your power again?"

Myles flinched at the Earth shaking, his gift quickly going into use, his pupils constricting the world seemed to slow, as did he, but his thought processes continued to move in real time.  He processed the now very slow world around him having plenty of time to decide as he noticed pillar after pillar suddenly constructing from the ground.  Myles was about to flee as he saw a pillar beginning to rise very close to his left, when a thought crossed his mind, these pillars wouldn't hit their user.   He noticed a pillar beginning to come up from the dirt directly in front of him,  he began to move, his mind deciding to commit fully.  He sprinted full tilt towards the now very slow moving pillar which was only about six inches off the ground, he would hop up on, barely making it on before getting off the pillar in a hurry so he didn't get stuck on top.

When he hopped off the pillar it was about two feet off the ground so he bent his knees and went directly in a roll to ease the pain, keeping his knife away from his torso, time would transition back into real time after his collision with the ground, he landed on one knee now possibly very near the two opponents.

Peter flew into the barrier. His leggies hurt. He bounced back onto a rising pillar and climbed it to the top. Myles got in close to Ben so Peter did too. He couldn't get close to Eliza after all.

Eliza could sense the two enemies had use the pillars to get closer. "Spatial Manipulation." She replied to her partner, her eyes flicking to the two enemies even though it was covered by the web. The darkness of the stage not effecting her in the slightest. She moved forward taking up a defensive position to protect Ben.

She could tell he was shocked by her gift, but she trusted him at least for now to help her win this battle. Hopefully he would collect himself here soon, because while she could manage by herself that probably wasn't going to be enough. She didn't even know what these kid's powers were.

Reaching out with her gift she grabbed Myles, and tossed him wherever. She just wanted him out of the area for now. She didn't know if he would hit something or if he would just land on his feet, she just knew she got him out of the area for now.
