Wasn't it absolutely stupid how much she had been anticipating his arrival, shuffling her boots in the snow, lifting her head every couple seconds at the slightest of footsteps, hoping that it was him and not a passing stranger glancing at her when their eyes accidentally met and her cheeks grew even redder? When he finally came by - was she always this impatient? It had only been five minutes or so at most -, Adeline's smile brightened as she inched closer towards him, giving him a wave with one hand. "H-hi Magic!" The pitch of her voice piked up towards the end, child-like and soft. She immediately covered her mouth, dreading that her own excitement and desperation flickered through all too easily.
Averting her gaze away, the smaller girl swallowed down any anxiety present and took a deep breath. This wouldn't be too bad. They were hanging out. Like old times. No need to feel tense about it. Adeline nodded, drifting towards the cafe. Inviting it was, and through the doors would be warmth and soothing cheerful jazz (maybe classical? Wouldn't it be nice if it was a piano playing in the background?) to enjoy while they caught up with each other once again. Her hand clasped around the door handle as she tried to push the door open, expecting a blast of warm air and to savor the sweet aroma of coffee and tea.
Nope. The door refused to open. Flustered, she shook her head a little before trying to push it in again. It's just a door. She had enough strength for that. So why wasn't it opening? The door had always been push to open and not pull...
Oh wait.
