Bake Sale (Open at first to Autumnites, and then more people later)

Lotte watched rather sullenly as slop descended from the lunch lady's spoon to the tray in her hands. What was that? Even Ethel, who tended to be calm and was rarely phased, seemed to flinch at the sound of the "food" squishing onto the plate. Lotte looked up at the lunch lady, who gave her a scowl before shouting, "Next!"
Lotte flinched at the yell and continued to a seat.
The girl was sick of the poor food that plagued this school's menu. She ended up discovering that the slop she had received was some kind of pasta, though she didn't know of any yellow sauce that went good with noodles. Upon choking it down, she slammed down her fork as an idea came into her head.
"I'm going to bake!" she declared, though the girl became aware of the new audience that had ceased their own conversation to hear what she had to say. Apparently the clang of the fork was loud enough to attract attention. Embarrassingly, she exited the cafeteria, feeling the gaze of her fellow students.

"Ethel, hand me the eggs please."
"Sure, madam."
Lotte took the eggs from her friend, cracking a few rather unprofessionally and fishing some stray shells out of the bowl she was mixing in. After an hour of shopping in the neighboring village, the medium had gotten ingredients for various baked goods, as well as a cookbook. Albeit she used up a large chunk of her monthly allowance from her parents, the idea of a bake sale was what she felt would fix this. Lotte imagined lines of people, hurling money at her as she passed out gourmet cupcakes and counted the dozens of Benjamins in her free hand. Oh, it was glorious! She couldn't wait!

She was using the kitchen in the Autumn dorms, the one that was shared by the students within said dorm. Due to this, someone came by every now and then to watch her, but the girl's glares drove them away. "If you aren't going to help, scram!" was one of the things she'd yell at them, shooing the people along with the wave of a whisk.

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees, set timer for 30... she would read, trying as best as she could to follow the directions carefully. She had never baked anything, but this was a nice place to start! How bad could it be?

He'd spent near half of his entire morning sleeping in, an hour hastily throwing together a cheaply made history essay (one which would surely bring great shame to Professor Millar, but he couldn't care to worry about that till later), and the last few hours pushing himself in the gym. Now fresh out of the shower in a loose top and bottom, he could hear his stomach loudly complaining and he longed for a good meal. He thought of nothing else as he strode through the kitchen, not feeling like getting dressed again for the cafeteria and waiting in line, he prayed to god someone left a sandwich or something in there for him. To his disappointment, there was none.

Jason grimaced and looked around in a nearby cupboard and drawer, finding a small pot and a pack of ramen. It'd have to do. It wasn't until he made a rush for the sink, the promise of a meal coming soon, that he noticed Lotte hutched over a bowl and a cooking book. "Well, well. You never struck me as the cookie baking type." The young man mused, raising an eyebrow.

Lotte threw a tray of plopped cookie dough into the oven, glaring at Jace as she did so. "I'm not any type. I do what I want." she simply stated, going to work on her next batch. She hoped that he would not simply stand there and watch her. The two of them hadn't been on the greatest terms lately, and he didn't want him to just stand around for no good reason. Ethel was off to the side, cracking eggs as she hummed an unknown song from presumably the Victorian era. To Jace, well, eggs were spontaneously cracking over a bowl.

Hey, a cheap ten cent meal was a damn fine reason to stand around in the kitchen, if you asked him. "What a strong, independent woman." He threw back teasingly, shrugging his shoulders and turning to face the sink - filling the small pot with water. "And ghost, of course." The boy hadn't forgotten Ethel yet. It was kinda hard too when there were eggs spontaneously cracking themselves. He threw the water on the stove and turned the fire on. Letting it sit, he leaned back on the counter aside it and crossed his arms, watching them work. "So, I do get a taste test, right?" Jason asked, smirking. Despite everything, it would never get old annoying her.

"Sure. I will make sure to throw leftover batter at your face. Then you can get a taste." she mumbled, not bothering to look up at the boy. Of all the people, why did he have to annoy her right now? Ethel, on the other hand, waved at Jace upon being mentioned, not having any personal qualms with the Autumn. However, she was quickly back to work once Lotte glanced at her. Just a few more batches, and all she had to do was wait...

The autumn laughed a little under his breath, holding up his hand to hide it. "No, no. I'd much rather you eat the rest, then I can get the taste off your lips." The blonde crossed his arms again, shooting a smug expression and winking at her. He didn't exactly plan the remark out, and wasn't at all serious about it, but he was starting to wonder if he should abandon his little packet of ramen and go find some cover. Maybe she'd start throwing more than cookie batter at him. He wouldn't put it past her.

Lotte ceased stirring for a brief moment, processing what he had said. Normally, this would be proceeded by screaming or violence, but Lotte didn't care nor had any time for that. She sighed, continuing to stir her batter. However, she managed to slip an "Asshole." from her lips, gaze fixed on the task at hand and mouth curled in a frown, one the girl did not wear too often.

Mallach walked into the room with the express purpose of making a sandwich, and oh what sandwiches he would make! Mallach was no chef, but he had elevated sandwhiches to an art form, but it looked like somebody was already using the kitchen, causing him to quickly devolve from humming merrily, to twiddling his thumbs and shifting feet in an awkward pose, making it clear that he had no idea how to address this situation. Should he just turn around? Should he ask if they didn't mind!?

Jason saw her freeze up and held his breath himself, bracing for the worst. He was honestly surprised when she seemed to just wave the entire thing off, returning to her cookie batter. How very un-Lotte like. It threw him off and wiped the smile off his face for certain. "Okay, what's your problem?" He muttered in question. Not a moment later he heard his water start to boil. He turned to open the packaging and throw the soup in, calming the bubbles a bit.

He noticed Mallach walk in out of the corner of his eye. Another new student? Seriously? "Hey, you look a little lost there." Jace called out to him, putting a small smile on again to try and ease him out of his awkwardness.

"Oh! Right, was just gonna make a sandwich, but if you guys are busy..." He trails off, not really knowing where he plans to go with the conversation. He sees all the flour and stuff on the counters "what are you guys making?" He asks tentatively "If you don't mind my asking..." That one guy was helping with his awkwardness somewhat, but he always felt bad when others had to be outgoing for his sake. He stuck out his hand, not really knowing what else to do "I'm being rude, sorry. I'm Mallach." At least he wasn't staring at the scars, most usually did.

"I heard something about baking!~" A voice purred, before rounding the corner. There Verona stood, in heels- something in no way appropriate for cooking, but she was determined that she was going to participate. Verona was a busy body and loved being a part of everyone's business, so of course, when she had heard a group of girls grumbling about some moody girl cooking with a few other people she decided she would join in. Not because she wanted to be friends with said "grumpy girl", but because she wanted to get to the bottom of why she was grumpy. Boy troubles? Ahh, now that would be a juicy story.

"So where do we start?" The girl chirped in again, looking at everyone with a smug smile, narrowing her eyes as they brushed over Mallach, she hadn't forgotten about his childish knife foolery earlier in that week. Unlike Mallach, Verona didn't feel the need to introduce herself, they had probably heard about Verona through gossip or something of that nature. She was used to it.
