The 2015 Winter Formal Empty
PostSubject: The 2015 Winter Formal   The 2015 Winter Formal EmptySat Jan 03, 2015 5:14 pm

After awhile at Beata Academy, it was hard to get surprised at anything anymore. But every once in a great while, your breath would get caught in your throat, and you'd remember just how strange your life had become.

This was one of those times. It was snowing inside the Great Hall on a clear winter night, and for the second annual dance, the building had been transformed into a winter wonderland. Polished white marble floors reflected the twinkling lights hanging from the ceiling, where icicles and streamers hung in the air, accompanied by a delicate fall of drifting snowflakes. To make room for the dancers, the floor had been cleared of all its chairs and benches, but several tables were pushed off to the side of the room, covered in frosty white-and-blue cloth and lines of snack bowls.

The jewel of the room were the crowns. Four, resting regally on fluffy white pillows supported by ice sculptures, sitting center-stage of the raised platform on the far side of the hall. Band instruments sat off to the side, for the later live entertainment.

A stream of couples had already begun to trickle in through the open doors. In fifteen minutes or so, the music would start, and so would the dance. You couldn't miss it. The room, the atmosphere, the excited buzz that had swept through the school in the preceding weeks... it was something that could only be described as magic.

It might be a good idea to avoid the "special" frosting on the cupcakes too, by the way. Just a tip.

OOC: Welcome to the second annual Winter Formal! Come to dance or to eat at the snack table all alone like a loser. Enjoy yourselves, everyone!

The 2015 Winter Formal Empty
PostSubject: Re: The 2015 Winter Formal   The 2015 Winter Formal EmptySat Jan 03, 2015 6:07 pm

ooc;; Keirsta's Dress - Mikyla's Dress - Taimi's Dress
ic;;

Keirsta had gotten her dress with her sneaky ways, the close-forming top part of the dress conformed to her curved body nicely. The ruffled skirt spared her leg room, nicely flowing and just barely touching the ground. Her pastel-pink hair was curled, nicely held in a side-ponytail. But honestly, it didn't take her all that long to get ready. Giving herself half an hours time, it had only taken her a good fifteen minutes to really get ready. Considering her hair was normally curly... A quick shower, hair-curl, get dressed, and done. A smile accompanied by some nice earings and heels completed the look, entering into the already filling hall. Excitement filled with her as there were rumors going around about who had been nominated... But some of the votes weren't a surprise. Jason Wright, and Verona Andrews. Why wouldn't they show up onto the list? Not much of a surprise there. They were Mr. and Mrs. popular, and it didn't take an expert to see it. Otherwise though, they were the only names she had heard beside Jayden Wright showing up for Prince. But Keirsta wasn't really onto that topic as much as she had been about getting to see Dublin... Hopefully. He'd seemingly disappeared from campus, and it was a little odd she hadn't seen him at least somewhere. But then again, that seemed to be a popular thing around. What, did students get easily depressed so they hid in their dorms for their lives? At least that was the light-hearted side of it.

Looking around at the hall though, she couldn't help but want to see what they had over at the snack table. It would be interesting to find out if they had any spiked punch yet... Because if not.. Heh. She'd come prepared. There was always someone to spike it. Being the first one over to it though, she sniffed it before pouring herself a cup. Might as well get it while it's fresh. Pulling a little vial from the side of her dress though, she opened it and poured a bit in. Not enough to where it stood out, just enough to get a little bit of an effect. Hey, there had to be a little bit of mischeif, and Keirsta was there to bring it. Slipping the vial back to where it was, a smile placed upon her lips was all that was left as she walked away with the only known cup of un-spiked punch. But then again, if it already had been.. Well, that wasn't the trouble. Considering the halloween party, what she did was pretty minor. Being the fact she had still gotten away with living half-drunk, it wasn't much of a surprise how little the teachers payed attention sometimes. But just for the formal, Keirsta had cleared herself of alcohol for a week. What she couldn't wait for was to see how many people would get a little dizzy from her little gag. Slipping away though, she went over towards the center and knowing that it would be dark out, she could let some of her 'gift' unleash. So, with a few small movements of her hand, the origin of the falling 'snow' got a bit of something else. A little glow to it, and she'd keep it up as much as she could.

~~~~
Otherwise though, Mikyla had been going frantic figuring out what the hell to exactly do for the formal. The only reason why she was going was to hopefully make a few friends. Interaction was at zero for her, but hey. Who really approached a fuzzy wolf? Barely anyone. Being that it was a special occasion though, Kyla had decided to actually dress up and go as a human. Living as a canine got boring, it really did. Now that she was in a Spring dorm all on her own though, it was very different. Moving from the crowded-ass initiate dorms to the spacious living quarters that housed the sorted students was a huge change, and now that she was on her own for now... At least there was somewhere that she could make some friends with some of the students at the Academy. For all she knew, later on down the road she could be paired with a few spazzy teens who were psycho! Oh well though... But otherwise going to private school and knowing how crazy they were, it was certainly going to be foreign if none of the food here had some type of devious ingredient to it. Kyla planned to mainly steer clear of the punch, sticking straightly to water. It'd be funny if she could pull a few tricks with the people around, get a good laugh out of them hopefully.
Finally getting into the Hall, it was breathtaking. The falling snow was a great addition, and the decorations everywhere made her breathless. If the Winter Formal was a yearly event, well, she would love her time at Beata. Normally every teen looked forward to the Prom, but being that she was still young and would have many years of such an event before her... It would be every girls' dream. Get to relive the great memories of events, adding more to each time. Knowing that the Houses were done by seasons, it couldn't help but spark her curiosity if there were events such as this for every season. If there was, well, it would only make things better. Excitement pulsed through her, and it would be time to meet some people now that she was inside and mainly roaming.
~~~~

Last but not least, Taimi had gotten in at the head of the crowd. The sight of the hall instantly had taken her breath, the hetero eyes quickly scanning to find anything wrong. It was just something she did, the hall was just too perfect for nothing to be wrong. But hey, if the Winters truly did have the ability to pull such a perfection off, then boy was she excited to see what she would be able to do in the Summer group. It was a smart move of the people who founded the Academy, because it made it easier to name events. I mean come on, it would be pretty hard to name the Fall Festival... Wouldn't it? Well, they would come up with a name, but it just helped think of ideas. At least in her opinion, didn't it?

Moving her way over to the snack table though, the platters of food laying out made her eyes light up. Tai had been without a good meal for awhile, and the platters would certainly make for a good night. Grabbing a few slices of cheese from one of the platters, as well as a cracker dipped in well... dip, she munched on it while she watched the other people file in. So much for just being alone at the snack table. Then again, she had been with the first of the crowd, so either way others would be crowding to get in. Unlike a few others though, a few of them would be hanging out at the snack tables while they watched from afar. It would be hilarious though if she saw someone spill the red punch on a white dress. Being that she wore a champagne dress though, it would make a noticable spot, but it wouldn't really make a huge stain. Which was a plus side about being a younger sister to the craziest fashion finatic, dresses for events such like this were never a hassle. Now all that was left to see what would file out... and if she had heard correctly, she'd been thrown in for Princess crown. But secretly, she hoped that it wasn't her. The awkwardness of having to dance with most likely someone she didn't know wasn't in her favor... Meeting people was just never her forte.

The 2015 Winter Formal Empty
PostSubject: Re: The 2015 Winter Formal   The 2015 Winter Formal EmptySat Jan 03, 2015 8:04 pm

OOC: kayla yo
i'll post with eve when jace comes in

IC: What am I doing here?

That was the question, wasn't it? Kayla slipped in with a hand on the back of her neck, gazing up at the impossible snow drifting down from the rafters out of thin air. "I guess I'm not used to this place after all..." she muttered half to herself, finding a lonely patch of wall and falling back against it. Dances were fucking stupid. People were fucking stupid. All this Princess BS was stupid. But she'd come anyway, with flowers in her hair and wearing a long white dress that she hadn't been in since... well, she didn't even know. It felt like an eternity ago, but somehow it still fit just right. That was the worst thing. If it had been too small now, she could've gone in her regular clothes and told herself she was being rebellious. But her mom had given her this dress, and she couldn't by any right not wear it, especially to an event like this. Kayla had thought she was above stupid sentimental bullshit like that, but she guessed she wasn't that strong willed.

Her eyes drifted down to her shoes — just casual sneakers. She was wearing shorts underneath her dress too. Old habits still die hard.

At least she wasn't lying to herself this time. If you asked her, with a gun to her head, why she honestly showed up at a place like this, she wouldn't have been able to tell you. Kayla didn't have a date, she didn't dance, and she was never one for stupid fairytale romantic crap like this. Hell, she barely even bothered to brush her hair most days, so what place would she have at the Winter Formal? She would have liked to say that she'd showed up to crash the place, but that'd be a lie, even if it would be entertaining. Maybe it was the sight of her name on the ballet that'd compelled her to come.

Kayla's hand clenched into a fist remembering it, and sparks ran down her arm. What sort of idiot would nominate me? It was probably just some dumb joke, but Kayla didn't even know anyone, so who would bother with something like that? The last thing in the world she wanted was to win, but even still, that slim possibility... If they did shout her name out, she wanted to be there in the room to hear it with her own ears. Even if only so she could zap whoever cheered first. She reached out her hand to the lights, watching the electricity ripple across it. It's gonna be a long night.

The 2015 Winter Formal Empty
PostSubject: Re: The 2015 Winter Formal   The 2015 Winter Formal EmptySun Jan 04, 2015 7:55 pm

Aurora adjusted the black gloves over her hands, pulling them up. Her dress draped down to her feet, which were hidden by long onyx heels, which elevated her tall height even more. Her hair was brushed neatly. a small piece plaited and pinned across her head, the rest of it rolling off in smooth platinum waves, still covering the right side of her face. Her crimson eyes were complemented by monotonous smoky makeup, of various cool greys, and thick mascara and eyeliner. Her cerulean jewels were strung across her neck, in the form of a chunky necklace, featuring her favorite octagonal cut one.

It was quite a shame, she had came to Beata Academy much too late to even be considered for a Royalty position, and she still knew no one at the academy. The white powder of snow dusted the floors inside, the temperature considered low to most, but not necessarily Aurora. She was raised in the cold, in a mansion in the north of Sweden. The temperatures often dipped below, and she was used to the freezing cold. Aurora was fairly sure that she would have no one to dance with, she was not entirely sure there was another girl that was willing to dance with her, the new kid and all. It was only days ago that she had been sorted, this school was quite unfamiliar to her. Aurora decided on stayed to the sidelines, she was much too unfamiliar with anyone to make her presence widely known.

{ sorry for this really bad response ; v; }

ooc;; your response is beautiful, aurora u wu
bic;;

Jace hadn't expected to even come to this thing, never once planned on it, and after all the public drama that went on with him and Verona, he sure as hell couldn't anticipate being nominated again - much less with his former queen up on the ballot with him. Standing just outside the doors of the Grand Hall, Jason couldn't help but let out a low sigh, shoving his hands in his pocket and leaning back against the wall.

He wasn't supposed to even be the same state, but when his name was thrown up for the crown again, he'd been highly "encouraged" to stay in case he won. (and it was his last year at the school, they said, his last formal. he should enjoy it. yay.) The idea of stealing the title of Beata's King had admittedly been pretty appealing the first time around, but this time it felt... uncomfortable. What if he won? He'd have to dance with the fellow winner - and Vera taking it for herself was a very real possibility in his mind. What would he do then? Would she be okay with that? Would any of that be okay at all?

It really sucked to think about, but in that moment, it was the only thing he could think of. Glancing down, he fixed his shirt, his cuff, loosening his collar with his finger - he'd went and put them all on too tight for some stupid reason. Every now and then, his eyes would catch on the soft, flowers he held - fake, but pretty, sown into nice corsage. It was a bit too simple for his taste, but it served as a good reminder as to why exactly he was waiting outside, and hey - his date never really struck him as the type for flashy things anyways.

_____

Preston, surprisingly, had been one of the first to arrive, hiding out in the back of the room at a small table. It really kind of fucking sucked. Verona being nominated for Formal Queen was kind of a dead give away. She was always the pretty princess royalty type, and she loved being at the top of the pyramid. He'd expected as much for her to royalty. But for his brother to be up there too? Dublin? Are you fucking serious people? The guy was so rarely seen, if avoidance could be a power, that would be Dublin's - not the gushy, lovey, mind-control stuff he seemed so dead set on forgetting to use. (A totally waste, in Preston's honest opinion.)

Alright, Dublin was a pretty handsome guy, and he had a few friends around - so Pres supposed he could give him the benefit of the doubt up until that point. What really grinded his gears though was that - hey, guess what ladies - none of you wanted to go to the dance with him~. Yeah, that's right, he was here all alone - sitting in the back, pulling out a small flask every now and then with some hard liquor (because the punch was clean this year. he already checked.). Every now and then, he's keep the small metal container now, sending irritable shocks wrapping around the silver flask and sending small flashes of light around the room - not that it was really noticable any with all the other pretty lights around, but whatever. Let him have his small bit of entertainment.

He supposed he should cheer the fuck up and walk around some, make a few friends, cheer for his dear siblings - but for now, he just kinda wanted to mope in the back.

_____

{aaaaay alicia uwu}

And finally - sometime in between - Alicia had wondered into the dance, clutching the small gem'd clutch that her parents had been kind enough to send her that year. She hadn't anticipated anything extraordinary happening that night, nor foresaw anything special, at least not to her; and it was for that exact reason that she had decided to come in the first place. For one night, it'd nice to have no visions, no weird foretellings, no stalker wolf-boys or any other kind of drama. Just a simple, relaxing evening, that was all she needed. Maybe, perhaps, she could even make a new friend or two?

She didn't exactly consider herself a master of making new friends, but she was still a Summer student at heart, and talking to new people wasn't something that she was normally afraid of. Pausing in the middle of the floor, having to hold her teal dress for a moment to avoid any passerby's from accidentally trampling on it, she noticed a stranger off to the side of the room - nobody she'd seen before, and normally, Alicia was very good at remembering a face; especially a pretty one. Pale, snowy hair and crimson eyes, she thought, even the way she stood - it didn't look like she was from around there.

"Hello," The summer girl called out a simple greeting, walking up to the stranger with a soft smile. "I don't mean to be rude, but you seem a bit lonely."

The 2015 Winter Formal Empty
PostSubject: Re: The 2015 Winter Formal   The 2015 Winter Formal EmptyMon Jan 05, 2015 1:31 pm

ooc;; have to do a quick Taimi one. surprised Pres didn't ask her to the dance //shot

ic;;

Well, after being there for such a long time, Taimi had no clue on what to do. She really did feel like scoping out someone, and what did you know. There was Preston Andrews, all by his lonesome. Seeing that she was alone and so was he, it seemed like a safe move to go over and hang out with him. Not that she'd end up dancing unless he somehow got her to. hint hint //dies Which wouldn't be likely, dancing wasn't her forte. But finally deciding to get her ass moving, it was only a few steps or so until Taimi was there by him. "Boo~" She was a little off on her mood, being that she had taken two cups of the punch Keirsta barely tainted. It didn't take much for her to get a little tipsy... But hey, moderation was something she had gotten good at.

Taking a spot beside him, her hands grasping the table behind her Taimi couldn't really think of anything to do besides start up a conversation. "Anything interesting happen to you so far?" Strangely, because Taimi was in a crowd she was a bit of a chatterbox. Mainly because she couldn't truly be heard over the now-starting music. Oh well, it was good for her to get the words she had out for once.

The 2015 Winter Formal Empty
PostSubject: Re: The 2015 Winter Formal   The 2015 Winter Formal EmptyMon Jan 05, 2015 10:37 pm

So here's the story. The wonderful three students Lindsey, Richard, and Penny all took this semester off. For Lindsey, it was her choice. Over the summer she'd realized she had quite a few issues she needed to work out with herself before she went back. After all, spending the entire year alone was hard to deal with. For Richard, it wasn't so optional. After going through the past summer, his parents decided it was best that he take a break from the school *cough*Verona*cough* since it seemed to be doing more harm than good and he needed to straighten himself up. On the other hand, no one knew that Penny wasn't in school. She simply chose not to go this semester but was caught by her dad after about half of the time went by. Since it was too late to try to shove her back in, she was able to stay home until the next semester came. All by coincidence, though, the three had come back just in time for the winter formal, all of which were actually very excited to participate in.

--

OOC: Lindsey's dress tho

Entering the hall, Lindsey almost pranced into the room with her new look. She hadn't really changed a whole lot, but during her time away, she had really found a few confidence boosters and really felt proud of how she looked. It also helped that she had some extra hands from some friends to help her get ready for the special occasion. She had literally just arrived back at the school not moments before, so all of this preparing was done before she even left her home in hopes that they would get back on time and thankfully they did. It took hours of preparation to make sure that everything fit just right and it was mainly her mother that made sure she picked out just the right dress since she knew her daughter had so much potential to be outstandingly gorgeous even though Lindsey never really tried. But, for her mom, Lindsey dressed up all nice and pretty for this one night even though the dress was rather itchy at the top and the shoes were terribly uncomfortable. All of that aside, she kind of felt like a queen.

As she walked farther into the center of the room, she looked up to see the snow falling from the ceiling and was basically mystified by it. It felt like forever since she was around others like her (even though her power was nothing like this one) so it all felt so new once again. But at the same time, it felt like it did before she left. There wasn't anyone to talk to that she knew and there were so many new faces it was a little overwhelming. Even though she strutted her stuff walking in, she felt a little stumped. Slacking her shoulders, she tossed her hair behind her shoulders and awkwardly walked in her large heels towards the drinks. All the preparation had made her really thirsty and until now, her mother was not going to let her drink anything with that lipstick on. Standing by the punch, she quickly grabbed a glass while people were still filing into the hall. Nothing could have happened to it yet, right?

--

Next to enter into the hall was Richard who was surprisingly dashing tonight. Although he was dressed up just as much as the other guys in a simple black tux and red bow tie, there was a light air around him as he walked in and looked around at the decorations. He even looked more relaxed than he had ever been in the past. And to top it all off, he was actually smiling. He was happy for once! Who knew that could even happen? While his hair had grown out just a little bit over the break, the young man was very clean from his baby face to the clean pair of black dress shoes he was wearing. After going through so much crap over the summer and at home during the semester, Richard had learned a lot of things. He hated that he was forced to stay home at first, but honestly, he was happy for it. It gave him time to relax and think things out, mainly about what he wanted to do with his life. It was kind of like he had found part of himself while he was gone. The biggest thing was that he had gotten more into reading than anything. He had found his escape for when things got rough (which seemed to be all the time as this school).

Tonight, he almost seemed like an entirely new person. The only thing was that after awing over the decorations, he realized that he knew no one there. Well, he knew Jace but not really. That was about it. Everyone else was a complete stranger to him. Oh well. At least that was good. He could make new friends maybe? Casually strolling off to the side and making sure to avoid the dance floor at the moment, he watched as the others came strolling into the hall with their dates and everything cool like that. While he was just alone. No biggy though...

--

OOC: Ah, yes. Penny's dress and things <3

The last to enter out of the three was Penny of course. She always felt the need to try to be fashionably late... though this time she was simply right on time. She pushed through all of the couples in front of her just trying to get in. She was stunned with how the dance turned out last year and she was so excited to get back into it this year to see who she could find to dance with or flirt with or whatever just happened to come up. This year, she was also going to make sure she got some of that punch so long as it was the same as last year's. She didn't get any of it the previous time but she'd heard some hilarious things came from it. Overall, though, she was just thrilled to be back at school in her new sexy dress she bought just the other day for this specific occasion. The nude color was gorgeous with the beads to outline the shape and the slit was just high enough to show off but not enough to uncover anything important.

Holding herself high, she looked around for anyone that looked to be a familiar face, but that just happened to be Jace. Looking at him a bit more, though, she could tell that he waiting on someone, but she had no idea who. Walking towards him, she put a smile on her face with her glossy pink lipstick, almost excited to see him again even though she talked to him maybe a handful of times. "Who are you waiting on?" she asked when she finally reached him so close to the door. "Someone important?"

The 2015 Winter Formal Empty
PostSubject: Re: The 2015 Winter Formal   The 2015 Winter Formal EmptyTue Jan 06, 2015 12:09 am

Jason's eyes shot upward again with he heard a familiar voice that he hadn't heard in a fairly long time. A good few months at the least, if he had to guess. "Penny?" He pulled himself off of the wall, turning to face her with a small grin. Even though they never really talked all that often before, he still considered her a friend of his. They had been roommates, after all - and still were hopefully. He did see a few bags in the middle of their living room earlier that day. Were they hers? "Where have you been hiding all this time?" He asked. And then he looked down. "You - ah... You look..." He rubbed the back of his neck a little awkwardly as he looked for the most appropriate word. "Great. You look great." He laughed a little. Nailed it.

What was he waiting on? He glanced back down at the corsage. Someone important? "Yeah, I guess I am." The young man shrugged his shoulders and gave a quick glance around the hallway. There were a few people standing around, but he didn't look long enough at any lingerers to be able tell if they were familiar. In his mind, he tried to get a picture of his date, but it was hard for some reason; worse that he hadn't even a clue of what her dress looked like. "What about you, though?" Jason asked with a small smirk. "You come with anyone? I bet you could steal a dance with anyone you wanted." He joked.

_____

"Eh -?" No way in hell that he'd ever admit it, but he'd been so engrossed with playing around with his flask that the Autumn hadn't even noticed Taimi halfheartedly sneak up on him. Of all the people that Preston knew in the school, this shy girl was one of the last he'd expected to run up and approach him, much less try and spook him a little for a joke. Maybe there was a little more to her than he initially thought, though. After all, it wasn't normal for shy-ass wallflowers to be nominated above all others for school princess, was it? ... He turned to face her, giving her a quick glance. Oh yeah, the nominations were starting to make a little more sense. /bricked

Still, he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow as she grabbed at the table. "Not really." He mused, leaning back in his chair and glancing up at her. "What about you? Beata's Princess?" Preston asked, taking another drink.

_____

{forgot to link brailynn's dress hue)

Arriving next to the party was Brailynn, who didn't do much more than say hi to a few people - including Jace - on her way inside. Like so many others she, kinda sorta sadly, hadn't been able to manage a date - but she'd gotten over that about a week ago. She'd considered asking Dublin out to the entire thing, but he seemed to indifferent about the entire thing, and whenever she teased him about asking someone else - it just really didn't seem like a good idea. Whatever. That was cool. No, really. She could just sit back then, hit up the punch, dance a little, and take bets on the formal crown winners. (She was personally voting on Dublin and Verona for King and Queen. Maybe it was a little mean, but wouldn't it be funny if brother and sister ended up getting the coveted titles?) It didn't take long for her to realize that she was wearing one of the shortest dresses in the whole place. Alright, maybe she wasn't dressed as fancy as others, but it'd be easier to move around this was, right?

The girl was starting to stroll around the room, looking around as everyone was just starting to get comfortable, the DJ starting the music, people striking conversations, and new years admiring the ghostly snowflakes. Off to the side of the room, she thought that she saw Richard, but he hadn't been around in so long that it couldn't be. Curiously, she took slow steps around, passively trying to get a better look - and be ready to turn and flee if it was some other stranger. But, sure enough, it was him after all. A grin quickly grew on her face. "Richard!" She called, the only warning he would get before she quickly ran over, practically gliding across the floor and throwing his arms around him. "Where the hell have you been?!" she demanded, letting go after a minute because he was still pretty taller than her and she didn't wanna hang there too long. hue

The 2015 Winter Formal Empty
PostSubject: Re: The 2015 Winter Formal   The 2015 Winter Formal EmptyTue Jan 06, 2015 9:51 pm

With a casual shrug of her shoulders, Penny shook her head slightly so that she didn't mess up her hair. It took forever to get it right and surprisingly it was still staying. "Nowhere in particular. Stayed at some friends' houses for a while, then a couple hotel rooms, and for the second half of the semester, I was at home. This school just wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be. People are great," she said, adding a quick wink. "but I wanted to go out on my own and do things by myself for a little bit. Then my father found out. So I'm back here this semester. I couldn't stay away from too long. People would have started missing me, and we can't have that," she finished playfully. Putting her right hand on her hip and shifting her weight over her right foot, she looked around at anyone that she could possibly pick out as a date, but sadly the list was rather short and no one impressed her. "Actually, I came alone," Penny responded with a positive look on her face. "The plan is to leave accompanied, though. Speaking of, if for some reason your 'important someone' doesn't show up and you're feeling a little lonely, you can find me near the drinks. Good luck on your date, Mr. Fancy Pants." With a small mischievous smile, Penny walked towards her original destination before she distracted herself on a very good-looking Jace. She was half expecting his date to be the queen from last year since they seemed to hit it off after the last dance but she had no idea what happened over the summer and the time she was gone. Whatever. It was time to party.

--

The only kind of reaction that Richard could give before Brailynn essentially tackled him was a look of surprise as all he saw was a figure in a red dress and a familiar voice darting towards him. With a quick hug, he managed to calm down and actually figure out who it was that had suddenly threw themselves onto him. The realization was relieving and brought a sense of new happiness with it. It had been so long since he had seen Lynn, he had almost forgotten that she had gone to this school. "Hey!" he greeted with a smile before she suddenly spit out her demand. A little caught off guard with her tone, he looked around basically avoiding eye contact as he came up with a reasonable answer that didn't make him sound stupid. "Uh... away." Way to go. Best answer. "I, uh, I've been at home," he corrected himself, standing a little bit taller and trying to bring up more confidence. "I needed some time to think things out a little, that's all. Last year was way too stressful and... well, overall it was downright depressing for me. Way too much drama and things. I needed a longer break than just the summer which I was here for half of." He stopped, suddenly realizing how stupid he must have sounded going on about his personal life. "What about you? How have you been? What have you been up to?"

The 2015 Winter Formal Empty
PostSubject: Re: The 2015 Winter Formal   The 2015 Winter Formal EmptyWed Jan 07, 2015 3:10 pm

Beata's princess? Oh... right. Her name had been put into the ballot, something that she wished wouldn't have happened. Everyone practically knew who was in the ballot, whether it be that they were quiet or popular. Either way, her name had snuck up on there. She hoped to god that she didn't win, it wasn't that she really had much had anything that would make her the wanted royalty title. The only time Taimi would've even cared about the ballots was now, seeing that she was up there and had no choice of escaping it. Noticing the silver flask that Preston continued to hold, the smell could only tell her one thing. Ah well, if it got one through the night she wouldn't have anything against it. "Nothing, besides being nearly trampled by being at the front of the crowd to get in here. I don't see the huge deal with it, I honestly only came because my name was on the ballot." The other Taimi people knew was the exact opposite of this one. Why? her voice was drowned out by the chatter and music. If no one else could really hear her but the one she was talking to, heck. She had a lot to say.

Watching the other people within the area gather into little groups of two or three made her almost feel a little upset she didn't talk more often. It seemed everyone else had such a great time talking with their sweetheart or friends, and it put a smile on her face to see everyone happy. There was at least a few nights that everyone seemed contempt, even in the crowds swarming the grand hall at the time.

~~~~
Okay, it was getting pretty boring just standing around. Mikyla wasn't the type of person who continued to stay wherever she was, it was about time she got her head out of her butt and go make a few new friends. It seemed several had already flocked to the people they had been looking for, and seeing that there was some people by their lonesome it made her want to go meet a few of them. One of the people who were lonely looked simple and as if they didn't really want to be there, and to be honest she couldn't really blame them. It was pretty damn boring when no one else was really around, and she decided to go say hi. "H-Hi, sorry to bug you... You looked lonely." Well, that sucked. But oh well.
The 2015 Winter Formal Empty
Dylan walked into the grand hall wearing a rather dull suit. He hated the formal happening around him."Too bright, too loud."he complained in his head. He would much rather be back at the dorms playing video games. Usually, he would have been ok coming to a big event like this. Who doesn't like free food? However, someone had the great idea to put him on the ballot for the prince of Beata and he had an "obligation" to come in case he won. Dylan hated social interaction on a large scale like this and being the star of one was about the same as being burned alive in his book. Wandering through the crowd and into the corner, he wished his gift was invisibility so he could just hide until the results were announced and then get the hell out of there.
OOC: yo evebabs
IC:
Seeing Penny again was like a punch in the gut. There were pangs of jealousy too, a sudden paranoia, but mostly, Evelyn was dying from the embarrassment. They'd met before, if she even remembered. It was a rainy day in the studio and she'd been playing funeral marches when Penny snuck up on her, smiling and casual. The rest Evelyn didn't want to even think about. Stupid... stupidstupidstupid...
Cute, blonde and blue-eyed, with a flashy dress that showed off a lot of leg. Evelyn couldn't help but think of the year prior, and the girl who'd been crowned Jace's queen. When Evelyn walked up and spied the two of them talking, she'd held back to watch. Their conversation was brief, and at that distance Evelyn couldn't even hear what they were saying, but before long the girl had slipped inside and left him alone.
Was she jealous? No, it'd be stupid to be jealous. Jace was popular, and he could talk to a girl for five seconds without his girlfriend getting paranoid... but Evelyn supposed that it couldn't be helped, because she was paranoid anyways. She trusted Jace more than anyone, but it felt like every other girl at the school was prettier than her, funnier than her, just all around better than her. Evelyn was plain and stuttered, while at times it felt like Jace had the whole school wrapped around his finger. She'd spent last year's Formal getting drunk by herself, and he spent last year's Formal with a beautiful girl clinging onto his arm and a crown on his head.
She guessed, more than anything, that she didn't understand it. Anyone would expect Jace to go to the Formal with a girl like Penny by his side, and for her to spend the night alone in her dorm. But since when could Evelyn understand anything that happened in a place like this?
Evelyn started walking again, trying her hardest not to slip in her high heels. She wasn't used to wearing stuff like this. Her dress was still modest, even compared to last year's, but her legs still felt naked. Blue and simple, with the snowflake pendant he'd given her looped around her neck. She hoped that was good enough for him.
"Y-you look, um..." With the noise, Evelyn wasn't even sure if he could hear her when she finally reached him. "...h-handsome..."
She regretted the words as soon as they left her mouth, but there wasn't anything to do but avert her gaze to the ground. Idiot.
OOC: I'll post with Kayla later. @_@ sick.
The 2015 Winter Formal Empty
PostSubject: Re: The 2015 Winter Formal   The 2015 Winter Formal EmptyWed Jan 07, 2015 11:10 pm
Jason smirked at the story of Penny's grand adventure, only a little curious on how she managed to sneak off for so long without being caught. "Of course not." He mused, "You've got a whole lot more catching up to do than just talking to me." He turned around for a moment, glancing inside the dance and all the people wandering around inside - saying if they waved to him as they walked by. "Shame you didn't come home earlier, though. Maybe you could've been thrown up for Queen." She certainly was the showy, confident type - a shoe-in for these kinds of contests. Even if she came to the school late, he was pretty surprised she still slowed up alone.
"Will keep that in mind, thanks." He laughed a little, watching as she slipped away off into the formal. Admittedly, he couldn't help but watch her leave, turning back to the middle of the halls and checking the time again.
To be honest, he'd hardly noticed that his date had come up beside her at first - it was the bright royal blue color that finally caught his eye. (commence challenge of cheesiness |C) His smile softened. "Thank you, Snowflake." He muttered, sadly only able to give her a quick look over before his gaze trailed to the ground. Still, he couldn't get a bad look. "You're looking pretty beautiful yourself." Against the bright lights pouring from inside the formal, it was easy to notice the delicate pendant hanging around her neck, leaving him practically elated. "You're wearing it." He noted with a not-so shameful smile.
Even if he had taken aspirin before showing up to the place, his head was already starting to hurt him. It was no surprise to him at this point. He forced himself to cope, taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly, Jace reached out for her hand and took it in his own, raising it gently and brushing his lips against the back of her hand in a gentle kiss. "Are you nervous?" He asked, finally able to slip the small corsage around her wrist. ugh i take it back i could do way better qwq /shot
______
Brailynn gave him a sightly puzzled look as he glanced around the room, as if the answer to her question was hiding in the crowd or somewhere out the window. "Away?" She repeated after him, raising an eyebrow. She was trying to look serious, but it really was difficult wiping that smile off of her face. As he went on starting to explain, she felt a bit bummed out that out of all things, he'd went and left the school because there was too much drama. "You mean besides wondering why my friend suddenly fell off the face of the earth?" She teased, suddenly dropping the 'serious' attitude and looking rather proud of herself. "Just hanging around, I guess. I entered the summer tournament, which was after you left I guess. I didn't win, but it was still pretty fun. And, hmm..." She turned thoughtful, trying to think if there was anything else particularly eventful that he could've missed. Nothing came to mind though, and she'd gotten slightly distracted when she realized - in her surprise hugging - she'd made his tie crooked. Lynn, glancing up at him for a moment, reached up and straightened it out. "At least you made it back in time for the formal. It's a lot nicer than last year, I think." She took a step back, satisfied when the bow was fixed.
______
Preston meanwhile was giving the girl in front of him an almost blank look. Maybe it was him, or the alcohol starting to catch up to him, but he wasn't exactly sure that he'd heard what she said right. "You don't see the big deal about... nearly getting trampled to death?" He repeated slowly, as if to emphasize how that was a little hard to believe. "Or because a few people put your name on the ballot?" It was kinda funny to him that she didn't seem to care about the nomination in the least, or so she said, when he could name several handful people of girls who would tear each others hair out for such a wonderful honor. The young man sat up, leaning closer so he could try to hear her better.
He watched as she glanced around across the room, eying all the groups of people huddled together, laughing, dancing, eating, or drinking. She seemed pretty content gazing out from afar, but the only thing he could really wonder was exactly how badly did this girl want some friends. "You know anybody else there?" Pres asked. He didn't realize that might sound a bit rude, but even he did he wouldn't care. The Autumn was honestly curious.
The 2015 Winter Formal Empty
PostSubject: Re: The 2015 Winter Formal   The 2015 Winter Formal EmptyThu Jan 08, 2015 3:12 am
A young girl with a long dress which covered her feet entered the room where they were holding this little dance. Her dress was a light green, which seemed to blend in with her hair. Her pale skin blended in with the light colors, giving off a ghostly look. Her dress covered most of her body, leaving her neck face and arms exposed. Long white gloves covered her arms up to the point where the dress took over. A large smile was stuck on her face as she stared at all the people having fun, looking at their significant others. I wonder what that would be like. As her mind wondered around, thinking about what type of man she's like to meet, she was pulled away from it by a voice behind her. "Hey, could you move?" Bel's face lit up with embarrassment as she quickly stepped away, and guided herself to a wall that held the least amount of people. "I wonder if they'd like it to snow indoors..." Several thoughts came to mind, but one seemed to be placed amazingly among the others. "I got it!" she nearly yelled. As a couple people turned to her, she turned to the ground feeling a bit embarrassed. After royalty is chosen i'll make it snow all around! It seemed like it would be beautiful, a perfect couple crowned, then beautiful white flakes of snow fall from the ceiling, making for a perfect night. Internally, she cheered for herself. This is the best idea you've ever had!
The 2015 Winter Formal Empty
PostSubject: Re: The 2015 Winter Formal   The 2015 Winter Formal EmptyThu Jan 08, 2015 7:47 pm
Ooc: Meanwhile in the land of Autumn dorms...
Ic: Ken huffed, looking himself over in the mirror. He was wearing a black tuxedo with a hot pink bowtie--classic tuxedo, though he only had a random pink bowtie instead of red. Tuxedo and bowtie. Why not?
With a small smirk, the Autumn turned and lightly knocked on the door of his neighbor and date, Sebastion. "You almost done in there?" He called out, hoping the place wouldn't be flooded by the time they got over there.
Ooc: Short post for Ken ehhh
"Hurry up, Kat! We're going to miss out on all the snacks and good music!" Aiko whined, tugging at her brother's sleeve. She was growing impatient. People were already there, and she didn't want to miss out on anything. Sure, she didn't have a date last year, and didn't have one this year either, but she still found it really fun to attend the Formal. The scenery was always beautiful, the music was great, and seeing who got to be crowned was definitely exciting. However, her brother seemed hesitant, unlike her. She wondered briefly if he even wanted to go, despite having insisted on accompanying her.
"What are you waiting for?" The Summer continued. "Or are you maybe waiting for someone?" She immediately grinned, despite Katsuo giving her a look that disagreed. She rolled her eyes and gave his arm another hard tug, causing him to stumble, faintly surprised. "If not, then let's go already!"
"Alright, jeeze...I was just thinking." Katsuo sighed, smiling faintly in amusement. His twin's over-excitement for basically everything rarely ceased to entertain him.
"You'll have plenty of time to think when we're there. Let's go."
"Tch." The Winter playfully pushed Aiko's hand from his sleeve, not wanting his suit to rip. "Let's go then." And with that, he began to lead the way to the Grand Hall.
