| Taimi didn't really see it as much of a deal. Yeah, her name was put into the ballot and as much as she hated it, the poor girl had no choice. If her name was in the ballot, all she had to blame were the idiots who thought she would do well. I mean, there was no way in hell she would ever be Beata Princess material. If she had her choice, she would give up her entry into the ballot to one of her close friends, but it was pretty obvious things didn't work that way. Of course your average girl would die for such a spot, but whoever was voted had been voted. "If only things really did work that way... But no. Those things just don't tend to bother me." An honest shrug was accompanied by her words, but at his next sentence she shook her head quickly. "No, I don't know anyone else, sadly." Friends weren't exactly on her priority list, but if she had her pick of a different personality they may become such a thing.
Watching a few others pile in as late though, she couldn't help but anticipate when Royalty would finally be announced so she could get the night over with and leave. Because let's be honest. Taimi didn't want to be there at all. | |

| The last thing Kayla expected was for someone to talk to her.
She looked up as the voice snapped her out of her thoughts. Lonely? Kayla gave the other girl a feral half-smile. She guessed it must've been true, but there wasn't a worst thing she could've said right then. That was just the right kind of shit to get on her nerves. Electricity twined around her crossed arms as put a foot on the wall behind her, leaning back. "And who the hell are you?"
Evelyn nodded with a blush, her fingers wrapping around the pendant. "Mhm..." Of course, how couldn't she wear it? Especially to the Winter Formal, of all events. It really was the perfect gift, in just about every way. His compliment, even if it was just simple courtesy, left her blushing. Well, more than usual, anyways. There wasn't anything she could say to that, so she didn't.
When he took her hand though, leaving a light kiss on the back of her hand, it was a miracle that she didn't just die on the spot. Evelyn did her best to avoid his eyes, her gaze drifting down to the corsage he'd slipped on her wrist. "P... pretty..." she mumbled. Nervous? Of course she was nervous. "N-no..." she lied. "'course not..." | |

| So... neither being voted for Princess or, ... or nearly being trampled to death bothered her in the least? Preston couldn't help but look up at her a litte warily. Maybe he just can't heard her right. After all, it was pretty loud in this room, and she herself looked so overwhelmingly modest that there /had/ to be an issue. Come on. Nobody was that pleasant, right? No one that he'd ever met, anyways. "Well, if there were ever a time to make friends, Tammy." Taimi, his mind corrected, but he figured it was too late ten, shrugging and taking another drink. "Maybe if you're good, we can have a dance or two?"
The Autumn outside, meanwhile, simply let out a soft laugh at his date's little comment. She was such a terrible liar, he thought, why did she even bother to try? Was it just to impress him, or was she saying it to try and make herself feel better. "It's alright. Nothing to worry about." Jason muttered, trying to loosen her up a little. Well, there were a few things, but still. Nothing huge. "Let's just have a little fun and take it easy on the punch, alright?" He offered Eve a reassuring smile. He'd been to these things enough times already, sometimes even for other schools - before he attended Beata anyways. It'd be pretty dull for him, but maybe she could have sone fun? He only had to remember to take a few pics before the night was done. "Come on, He said, leading her inside.
And finally, with a drumroll and everything, Ethan Riley showed up to the party; in a black and white suit with a decent royal blue tie... The Winter couldn't exactly say that he was one for such social gatherings, but he'd done his reading on the formal. The dance itself was a long standing tradition, going all the way back to the birth of the school and the Headmaster Rivers. It was something the Winter house felt obligued to run for their school wide event, mostly because it was a fairly stotic party, he was sure. Either way. He was here. He was awkward. He had no one to dance with and no clue where Kimply was. This was gonna be a long night.

| D-Dance..? No way in hell. Well, maybe. It all depended. But for the time being, Taimi couldn't wait for the formal to be over. She was all dressed up here because she wanted to come and she had been voted, and even if some weird ass chicks would kill for royalty it just proved how immature girls could be. But that wa just her opinion, because to her it made no damn sense to be so panicked over a fact one could have a position for one night at a dance. Sure, they most likely got to keep the crown or whatever, but it wasn't likely in the slightest she'd be able to win with someone she knew. It was impossible, the ballot held no one she really knew, and there were others far more known than her. But if she did win somehow, hey. Gotta bask in some glory once in awhile in your lifetime, right? Who the hell knew anymore. "I guess. May as well sneak one in because if I know anything I may get my ass hauled off to dance with the Prince of the formal." No, it wasn't that she was against people, just against having to do something so... Extreme, with someone she didn't know at all. As much as an honor it would be, Taimi knew pretty well it wouldn't be unawkward for either of the royalty pairs of they didn't know each other. Heck, just the fact that she had made it up there was amazing.
------
Listening to the sharp comment of the other girl who obviously was a hot-head, it only gave her the reason as to why she was there in the first place. It was also pretty obvious she could manipulate electricity, she saw volts traveling from her body. Well, pretty useful if one was struck by lightning by chance, right? Maybe. But Mikyla wasn't the type to back down because of a comment. She had lived so far in life and even though she wasn't really wanted for all she knew, persistence payed off once and awhile. "Kyla. Who the hell are you?" A serious, almost pissed off look was on her face. Acting, nonetheless, but hey. What she got was what they would receive. It was pretty much the rule of life, wasn't it? No, not revenge, but tread people equally. So if you were treated like crap, you should treat them still better, but one still had every damn right to be an ass back to them.
----
Well, life was getting boring. The possible "king" who happened to be an old friend was nowhere in sight, and Keirsta was getting lonely. Put on a show for them, perhaps? Why the hell not. Looking around, the Autumn put on a smile. "Hey, everyone!" Keirsta called out, a grin appearing on her face replacing her smile. No, she wasn't going to show off, hopefully, but try to entertain them. I mean, things needed to happen. And seeing that it was dark out, it would be fun to put on her own little show for entertainment. At least until the nominees died to see if they had somehow won or not. But taking a moment, a near-transparent wall like structure showed up. The silver color shone, and illuminated the area slightly. After all, it was moonlight. But quickly came an onslaught of different visuals, such as a student being crowned Queen of the formal, people dancing, and whatnot. Suggestions were flown at her and they appeared, each one catching a few more gazes. (Of random students who were totally there.) Ooh's and aah's were heard as she continued, her little show going well. Most of her pictures went along with the upbeat music though, but it was just all around pretty cool. In Keirsta's opinion, at least. It was pretty fun to do something she enjoyed for once while waiting. That was something she loved about Beata, one didnt have to hide their gift as they were all together as misfits in the world. | |

| Ahaha. Remembering that night, already a full year ago, gave her a headache. Maybe a bit of spiked punch would help her calm her nerves. Evelyn smiled back, took his hand, and let him lead her inside. Right. Nothing to worry about. Just a dance... with the school's reigning king (if only for the rest of the night). That wouldn't attract any attention, would it? Ha. Ahahaha. Ha. Maybe she'd try some of that punch after all.
It would be a lie if Evelyn told you she'd been to a dance. Well, yeah, she'd attended dances. The Formal the year before, and once in middle school, but did standing against the wall drinking punch count as going to the dance? Without a date, saying you'd "been to the dance" was almost as dishonest as it was hollow. So to go back here with a prom king on her arm? She might have envisioned herself in Verona's place once or twice, thinking back to that night, but Evelyn never would have expected that fantasy would actually become reality.
Oh good god. What if he won again?
Kyla? It sounded almost a bit like Kayla. Kayla hated the name Kayla. Sparks ran down her hair, illuminating her face in a sister blue light. "Better to ask why you're getting in my fucking business." Kayla took a step forward, lightning rippling down her dress, and gave Kyla a sharp prod to the chest. The girl towered over her by half a foot, but hell if Kayla was going to stand around and let her get dragged into some polite conversation. She wasn't in the mood for pleasant small talk, and it'd been months since she last got into a good fight. "You look like a fucking peacock in that dress." Her voice was rising above the din of the Grand Hall, but Kayla didn't seem to notice. "So why don't you get the hell out of my face before I zap it off?" | |

| Amelia's dress, but should be light gray." Holy.." A small girl muttered from the huge doorway. She'd expected the dance to be winter-themed but not that winter-themed. Literal snow fell from above, and for a moment Amelia thought that there was no ceiling at all. Curiously, she caught one. It sure felt real, it was even melting from the heat of her palm. The floor, though it looked like solid ice, was not hard to walk on as it would normally be. Being that she had grown up in a climate much like surrounding area, she felt little chill and was completely comfortable in her knee-length dress, only needing a pair of delicate gloves for her small hands. Long blonde hair was put up in a half-bun, with a snowflake lace band holding it together. A little snow fairy, that's what she looked like. The chill seemed to give her a cheerful energy, and Amelia gazed about the large room, trying to find a familiar face. A couple older students, Grumpy, and.. hey hey hey I know you, someone her own age, Dylan! Gracefully trotting over, she gave him a mock curtsy and giggled. " How do you do, Prince Dylan?" She now had to look up a bit to see his face, as it seemed everyone had grown taller over the year except for her, little miss 4' 11" here. It's not as if there were enough bachelors coming to the dance. Here comes Rhett Gordon, alone as ever. Uncomfortable dress shoes hugged his toes, and he held himself more like an aged general than a teenage boy. Especially the slicked-back dirty blonde hair. He did not stand in the same position for long, and barely noticed the intricate decorations in the hall. His hand unconsiously reached towards his chin, where stubble was beginning to grow back because of the goosebumps. Yeah, it isn't just your legs, ladies. There was also a bit of acne plauging parts of his jawline as well, covered with foundation stolen from one of his roommates. Just don't tell her that, though. Rhett hung around the snack table, hand lingering above the beautiful and, by their looks, delicious cupcakes. He had heard rumors that they had been tainted with, but really, what harm could just one do? " To hell with it," he muttered, eating the cupcake however you think it's normal to eat a cupcake. | |

| Dylan looked over at Amelia. He didn't even try to hide his sigh of relief. He thought that he was going to go the entire night without anyone his own age to talk to." Hey Amelia,"Dylan said with a grin," how are you? I haven't seen you in a while. I hope you didn't bring the clay lion." Dylan looked around in mock horror..He was a bit annoyed about the prince comment, but the last thing he needed was for one of the only people he knew to be scared off by the hostile demeanor that being somewhere social interaction was required usually gave him. | |

| verona's dress *nodnod*Verona stood at the entrance of the Grand Hall. All around her the icy scenery engulfed the students into a truly magnificent winter wonderland. As she watched her pupils, she couldn't help witness the snow delicately floating down. It was so beautiful and serene... well other than the loud music blaring out of the large speakers stationed conveniently throughout the room. But it really only added to the aesthetics. The brunette sucked in a huge breath as she made her way into the room. She normally enjoyed being "fashionably-late", but typically a late entrance drew a bit of a crowd. Unfortunately for the girl, her entrance was quite short of memorable. Verona tried to remain positive as she weaved her way in and out of clusters of people and dancing couples. The reality was harsh, but Verona had no one she could socialize with during the dance. She supposed she could walk over to her brother and some other chick, but Verona wasn't very interested in watching some girl throw herself at her brother. The brunette scanned the crowd again, her eyes spotting Lynn and Richard and her gaze lingering for a few seconds. They looked pleasantly happy, even Richard, whom Verona felt like basically fell off the face of the earth for a spell. Going over there wouldn't be smart, she knew Richard didn't like her very much to start with and last time she had checked her and Brailynn weren't on the best of terms. So that left her with... Verona scanned the room once more landing on Jason and his date. Nope. Nope. Definitely not. With a sigh of defeat the girl glided over to one of the tables pushed to the side and plopped down on a chair. She twirled a strand of her hair nervously around her pointer finger, but quickly stopping in fear that she might mess up the waves she spent so long trying to impress onto her hair. Admittedly, this is not how Verona had anticipated the dance going over. She had at least expected to have a date. But at least she was nominated for Queen again. That gave her at least something to look forward to. - - - - - noa's attireA sprightly young girl bounded into the entrance of the Grand Hall. On entering Noa's mouth dropped. She was so enthralled with the chairs and the colors and- hey! Was that real snow!? Sure the shy girl wasn't too much of a fan of social gatherings, but oh did she love looking at decorations. And these were truly magical. The fairy lights, the streamers, wow oh wow! After spending a solid five minutes staring up at the snow falling around her, Noa directed herself over to the corner of the room where she seated herself near two girls. Upon hearing the brunette girl (Alicia) speak, Noa's head popped up. Her face flustered immediately, obviously thinking Alicia was addressing her Noa's mouth gaped open awkwardly. " Oh, no I'm not that lonely and oh my goodness... you were not talking to me...." Noa's eyes widened and her gaze fell awkwardly towards her foot as she kicked out her leg to inspect her delicate silver shoe. She had made sure not to wear a heel in case she ran into Jayden, Noa had never remembered him being very tall and that would be pretty awkward if in their first interaction in a while she was taller than him... Not that it really mattered, Noa hadn't seen Jaii in a seriously long time and she highly doubted he would just randomly show up at the dance. That didn't really seem like his character, but really what did Noa know? Curious, but afraid to get her hopes up, Noa gingerly did a once over of the crowd. Unfortunately no Jayden. Noa frowned slightly. - - - - - mandy's dressMandy wasn't very familiar with snow. Or ice for that manner. She knew about the ice cubes she would have to retrieve in her mother's diner, and she had been to an ice skating rink once when she was little. In Arizona there was no such thing as a white Christmas, although it did get pretty cold at night. But with this background in mind, it was easy to say that the blonde was certainly unprepared for the harsh reality that was Montana. She had never needed a heavy winter coat until now, nor had actually seen real snow. It was frightening. But indoors Mandy was safe from the depths of a bizarre blizardy hell. That was until she walked into the Grand Hall. Upon entry, the girl had to resist the urge to turn back around and leave, and instead headed over to the concessions table. Deciding to stay away from the punch Mandy instead for a cupcake; picking it up and strolling over to a quiet boy standing by his lonesome (Ethan). The girl took a large bite of the cupcake and chewed for a second. What a good cupcake! The girl took another bite. " This is-- exciting-- huh?" Her muffled voice cried out in between bites of the baked good. Despite being muffled, it was clear Mandy was being sarcastic. ooc;; let's get this topic back on the road, shall we?

| Looking around, Richard couldn't help but agree with her. Well, there were several reasons why this year was better than last year, and decorations was definitely one of them. The snow was absolutely wonderful and it added a wonderful atmosphere to the dance. "Yeah, I'm really glad I could make it back for this. It was probably one of the better things that happened last year. It's always fun to have music blaring in your ear and people going crazy." he laughed. "Dancing is always fun too... even though I don't dance."
After already drinking a couple of cups of the punch, Penny was basically bored. She didn't have a whole lot to do and she didn't really know anyone. She didn't have to try to put any kind of plan into motion until later on in the evening when everyone was ready to go home anyway. Letting out a heavy sigh, she scanned the room once more to see Verona walk in the door with her queen-like entrance until the girl sat down on the side. Well that was odd. What was the queen of the dance doing sitting by herself? Did she really not have a date? Oh well. She was the only other person Penny knew at this party. Walking over to Verona, Penny sat down next to her with cup in hand. "Who are you to come to a dance dateless?" she asked before taking a sip of her drink. | |

| With half a mind, Jason noticed a few looks once they'd walked into the middle of the room, though the light, feigned mist and falling snowflakes. None of them particularly caught his attention, however, his mind was in other places. The last formal had been a small thrill, even if he hadn't been entirely up to it at the time. Now, all he could really think about was if they should start dancing right away, or get a few drinks and a bite to eat, or maybe pictures first? (He's probably already wondered about this but w/eeee) "Have you eaten anything yet?" The Autumn asked his date, keeping his gaze wandering around the room. Those cupcakes looks especially nice, though he couldn't quite say why. "It's going to be a long night I think."
__
What would she rather be doing then? Spraining her wrist back in the gym? Preston tilted his head back, shamelessly taking another deep drink. "Oh, yeah - dancing with some of the most dreaming fucking guys in the school?" He shook his head, glancing back up at Taimi. Another drink. It was strong, but the more he had, the better it seemed to taste. And he'd been there for a while as it was. "Damn, you're right. That must really suck." Truth be told, he didn't feel like doing anything but sit there for the rest of the night, but dear old dad always said to be a man of your word. He stood up, one hand on his drink and another gripping the table. It didn't take him long to sway in his spot. "Aha, fuck... Maybe dancing isn't such a good idea after all. I might fall on you." He smirked a little, "On second thought..."
__
Alicia blinked, wondering if the girl had answered her and then just maybe she had missed it? Or was she imagining that? Her imagination did have the tendency to run away with her... The Summer glanced around in slight confusion when she noticed another formal attendee in a small, pretty dress, seated at the table besides them. "Oh, I'm sorry, did you say something?" The brunette offered the younger girl a kind smile. "I can have pretty bad hearing at times." She let out a small laugh, waving it off gently before offering a dainty hand to shake. "My names Alicia."
__
Someone was actually talking to him...? You mean, another actual human being was sparing him their time, that wasn't Kimberly? And, by the sound of it, a girl too? And Ethan takes the cake for most awkward thoughts of the night. The Winter turned to look at the girl, seemingly enjoying that cupcake of hers. His mind tried running through possible things to say. When it came to class or projects, research all that... He could talk for hours on end with little hesitation. But social settings like this? He was a lost cause. It was a mystery in itself how he was ever nominated for King in the first place. "I would say so." Ethan answered with a small smile. "This has all the basic elements for a good party: the food, the attendants, and the atmosphere - one of it's kind for sure." Nailed it.
__
Brailynn couldn't help but grin then, thinking about to the dancing they had done last year - if you could really even call it that. She couldn't say with certain honesty for him, but if she wasn't stepping on others' peoples dresses on the dance floor, then she was almost always tripping on her own. The night wasn't exactly perfect, with obvious bits of drama here and there, but it was still fun - at least she thought so. "Totally. It's always easier to hide your "amazing skills" when you're in the middle of a crowd too." She laughed along with him, glancing around the room on a whim. What would the odds be then that Verona walked in that very moment, looking radiant as she ever was in a magnificent dress. "Is that...?" Her smile softened, trying not to stare or anything, but she couldn't help but watch her former friend curiously. Maybe she should say hi, at least once before the night was through. | |

| Eaten? God, no. There was no way she'd be able to keep anything down with all these stupid butterflies in her stomach... but a drink would be nice. She just smiled at him and looked back down the floor below, to the snowflakes disappearing on the white tiled floor. "Um... y-yeah..." A long night indeed. How many eyes would the old king attract? How long would they be milling around on the dance floor? Evelyn fingered at her pendant, looking everywhere but Jason's direction. She wasn't made for these types of events... and there was still the shadow of the vote lingering in the back of her mind, which didn't help her nervousness. Thinking about him dancing with someone else, even if he was obligated to, made her feel sick.
God, she really was a jealous hag. | |
