Round 1: Brailynn Moore vs. Keirsta Chree

She'd heard about this chick before. One of the most popular students in the school. A top notch Autumn; pretty, kind, smart, strong. Miss Chree had won the ever-deadly Easter hunt, and had known Dublin for some time - he'd mentioned her once or twice before. While she'd been training near non-stop the entire year, she knew that it still wouldn't make this match any easier for her.

Brailynn tightened the gloves on her wrist and stepped around. "You're Keirsta?" She called, shooting a slightly crooked smile. "I don't think we've met before."

Caverns… This was an atmosphere Keirsta rather enjoyed. The light illumination of the soft blue hue reminded her of her gift, the aura it gave off a much similar color. The darkness otherwise made the girl feel right at home, and with such a shiver ran down her spine at the familiarity. It was almost too familiar, almost eerie. The fact that it was dim only gave her an advantage though, her eyes were well-trained to the faint light.

The blue eyes looked across at her opponent, and smiled courteously. Brailynn Moore, Spring… One of the older students at Beata, gift, I’m not too sure. She assessed all that she knew about the girl in her head. Taking a few steps closer, a soft chuckle emitted from Keirsta as she saw how short her opponent was compared to her. She can be rather swift though, don’t think of yourself as all too high and mighty. Blinking slightly as a drip of water fell just short of her face, Keirsta looked around the arena once more. ”Yes, that’s me. You must be Miss Brailynn Moore.” She extended a hand briefly, before smiling softly at the girl. "May the best one win."

The Spring half-mindlessly grazed her fingers against one of the rocks that jagged out of the earth, feeling the rough, wet surface against her fingers. There were plenty of places to hide and run around if need be, but just from the environment, there was very little hat she could use to work with her power. Whatever chance Brailynn's gift had of coming into play came from whatever Keirsta threw at her. The blonde pulled her hand away and clutched her fist. She'd failed the first round last year, although her loss had helped her finally find her gift, she was still ashamed of that fact. This time, things would seriously be different... This time, she wouldn't lose.

High and mighty. Ahaha, because she's short compared to Keirsta. Lol. Also fuck you. But lol. But also ;_;.

Brailynn gave the taller girl a slightly concerned look as she shook her hand before the match started. It was weird to have such sportsmanship in an event where you'd be practically killing each-other. Maybe that's why a far more genuine smile grew then. She held back a little laugh. "I plan to." She said, half-teasing and hazel eyes glinting.

She had let go and taken a step back when the bell had sounded off. The Spring's entire demeanor changed then. 'Focus. That's all you have to do.' Brailynn's told herself for the thousandth time as she began to move. 'Keep your mind straight forward and don't let yourself get carried away.' She knew this would be a tough match and she had to keep her wits about her. If she didn't, then she had no chance. There was no blinding auto-piloting this fight.

The blonde quickly swung her leg up, wasting no time and aiming to kick at the other girl's jaw.

Fuck you too, m'dear. Fuck you too.

Taking a few steps back before the bell sounded after the handshake, a soft laugh of her own had to be held back at Brailynn's response. She had won the Great Hunt, surely going against students wouldn't be that hard? But then again, she hadn't actually truly dealt with that stupid ghost-demon-thingy in the Spring dormatory hallway. Nope, nope nope. She had tried, and all that had mattered to Keirsta was the fact that she had somehow won. This time she would actually have to fight somewhat to the death, though.

Vibrant blue eyes once more took to looking at the Spring before her, taking note much later on then she should have that she was also wearing her uniform. Unlike Keirsta's, the accent to Brailynn's was green... Where as on her own, orange was the accent. Oh, the joy of being in houses.

Once the bell rang, Keirsta merely waited for the first throw to come at her, which wasn't long. Time for those karate classes to pay off. Almost as quick as Brailynn's leg had shot out to aim for her jaw, Keirsta's hand shot up and grabbed her foot. A sly grin then appeared on the girls' face. "Don't think that this will be so easy now, miss Moore." The tone used was soft, pretty much to throw the other girl off.

Quickly though, she turned the hand holding the other girls' foot quickly. A split second later, the Autumn's other hand shot out for the girls' arm. Her main objective was to throw Brailynn off balance, and by grabbing the other girls' arm she would be able to pin her down.

Brailynn hadn't even bothered to hear the girl's snarky comment, nor did she have time to be impressed, or even surprised. Her body already knew how to react and her mind had quickly followed in an instant. She'd been caught like this many times before.

'Escape'. The Spring didn't waste a single moment, even while she talked, pushing her leg forward and kicking the Autumn's hand back. No matter how strong she was, the grip wouldn't be able to hold her for long. She did it again, pulling her knee back to her chest. Keirsta's awkward reach for her arm only made her job easier. Brailynn spun back around, snatching her foot back and planting it firmly on the ground.

'And counter.' She didn't stop her spin, not willing to lose her momento. She beat Keirsta's arm away with the back of her elbow and aimed for her head again with her followed fist.

An annoyed grunt came from the Autumn as the Springs' leg came away from her grasp and her slight plan to pin her down had failed. So she is good. The thought appeared in Keirsta's mind, but quickly, from the corner of her eye, she darted away from the punch flying close to her head. Brailynn's fist just barely missing Keirsta's head, and she could feel the soft bit of wind from her fist whipping through the air. Leaping backwards to also give a bit of room between them, a soft grin appeared on Keirsta's face.

Crouching down close to the cold stone floor, a drop of water hit Keirsta's nose. Blinking softly, a bit of an idea formed in her head. Standing up, a bright, blue aura started around Keirsta's body. It did grow brighter quickly, almost blinding compared to the current lighting conditions. Pretty much to anyone it would hurt their eyes even just a bit, going from such dim lighting to suddenly that of bright light. It didn't last very long though, and afterwards what was left in its wake was somewhat... Strange.

It looked exactly like how Keirsta had just a minute ago, right before the bright light had appeared. But... It was obviously different. It was somewhat transparent, but visible enough to where it held exactly her frame. Eerily, it stood dead still... What made it more obvious about its difference though, was how it was tinted the vivid blue that illuminated the cavern anyways.

Where was Keirsta, though? As soon as the little statue had materialized, she was quick to leap to the shelter of one of the nearby stones that jagged up from the ground. Sneaking towards Brailynn as quickly as she could, and doing her best to stay out of the girls' view, somehow she had ended up behind Brailynn quicker then she had thought. Grinning at this, she still kept to being silent as she emerged from her hiding spot, beginning to throw a swift punch to Brailynn's back.

The Spring gritted her teeth in slight frustration when she felt her fist hit nothing but the air, Keirsta having jumped back away from her. Once again though, the woman hadn't wasted any time following up in her next attack, swinging her other fist when her opponent had crouched down unto the floor. By the time she'd found her way back unto her feet, an eerie, blinding light had enveloped her body completely. Brailynn had little choice then but to take a step back and shield her eyes. By the time the light had vanished and her eyes had adjusted, there was nothing but a strange glowing copy that was left in her place, as still as death.

It didn't take her long at all to figure out that it was a fake. 'So this is one of your little tricks?' Brailynn thought, narrowing her eyes. If this was left as her gift, though, it remained something she could use to her advantage. Whilst Keirsta hid and moved among the rocks, she quickly made work of the piece. She placed her hand on the dopple's head. Instantly, the statue's cold blue glow turned a warm yellow, breaking down and evaporating into the blonde's grasp. Every bit of energy that went into creating it was now hers.

'Now, where are you...?' She kept light on her toes turning quickly in 180 with her fists up, trying to peer into the darkness. Unfortunately for her, it was hard to see much in the pale light, and whatever sound Keirsta might've made was lost in echoes. She wasn't willing to chase after her though and kept herself on alert instead, waiting for the Autumn to come to her.

Luckily, she didn't have to wait long. Keirsta appeared directly behind her and she moved. For an instant, the same soft golden light appeared at her feet. Brailynn sprang to the side and she grabbed at the Autumn's arm. 'Thanks for the pick-me-up.' she thought. The glow moved to her fists as she twisted around once again, sweeping Keirsta off her feet and throwing her across the cavern. 'But that won't be enough, will it?' The light disappeared off Brailynn as she found a firm stance again, waiting to see the outcome of the other girl.
