Your arena is a very stormy one.
The sky is dark and cloudy, and the wind is constantly pushing and pulling the air.
There are no trees or plants, just a distant river and an old shrine to some forgotten God.

Both of you may post once to ready yourselves before the fight begins.

PostSubject: Re: Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman   Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman EmptyFri Jun 19, 2015 3:34 pm

Blue eyes examined their arena in awareness. From where he stood he could see a river in the distance, and what looked like to be a shrine. Which caught his attention. However the sky seemed to draw his attention away from the old shrine, and to the wind and clouds. It was unlikely Leo would use his flight powers this round. 'Damn it. It's like they're trying to keep me from using my wings.' Although Leo could understand why they might, it still angered him to a degree. 'It's not my fault they don't have ranged attacks.' Leo's eyes turned to met his opponent's own eyes. This girl was able to beat Keirsta, so he had to be careful.

"Good Luck!" He called out to Brailynn, a polite smile on his face as he wished her luck. Okay, but who honestly means that when they are facing off against them? You'd have to be pretty confident to mean it. Blue eyes looked back up to the sky. Perhaps he should only use his wings when he needed a quick getaway. Leo took another glance at the shrine, which he assumed may come in handy. What Leo realized then, was that there wasn't energy that he could see for Brailynn to take, besides his own, thus putting the angel boy on alert. He couldn't let her touch him.

PostSubject: Re: Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman   Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman EmptyFri Jun 19, 2015 5:32 pm

Lack of real energy was the first thing that she had noticed. She had a few ideas, but nothing she was sure she was skilled enough with her gift to manage. Brailynn had let out a sigh, pulling a rubber band off of her wrist and tying back what hair she could to keep most of it from blowing around most of her stage. Even if there wasn't much to work with, she couldn't say that she didn't love the arena that'd been given this time around. Her last one had been so dark and damp and gross, but this one was open and vast. She loved the sweet scent of rain in the air, and the wind pushing againsy her back especially. It reminded her of her father.

She couldn't help but doing a small spin on her toes then, simply enjoying the nice weather before the chaos insued. The Spring caught her opponents eyes, and she sized him up a bit. She'd heard of him, mostly from things said in the last training class. He was supposed to be like an angel, whatever that was supposed to mean.

Compared to exchanges she'd seen before in the matches, he certainly seemed like one. "Thanks, you too!" She shouted back with a smile. Politeness at a time like this seemed so uncanny.

Oh, well. The young woman started cracking her knuckles and rolling her neck. Yolo.

PostSubject: Re: Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman   Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman EmptyFri Jun 19, 2015 5:52 pm

With the ring of the bell, Leo stayed still, pinpointing the direction of the wind in that moment of time. His new bow out, he docked an arrow and aimed for Brailynn, accounting for the wind. After a moment, he released. Knowing she'd most likely dodge it, he sent a few more scattered arrows. Once they were in the air, Leo turned and ran back a few yards. Blue eyes appearing a darker color glared in the direction of the wind."I'd never thought I'd say this, but I hate you wind." He sent another glare at the stormy sky. "And you too, clouds." Once he was done explaining his hatred for the two culprits of his anger, he retrained his eyes on his opponent. He knew that she'd most likely come after him, so he knew to keep his distance. That also being to find escape routes whether it be via wings or running. Thankfully, Leo was pretty fast on his feet, but as far as he knew, the girl was aswell.

The angel boy bit his lip and concentrated on keeping his calm, knowing he'd need his powers at a moment's notice.

PostSubject: Re: Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman   Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman EmptySat Jun 20, 2015 11:53 am

The girl let out a low tch sound, narrowing her eyes as she saw him begin to pull out his bow and string it backwards. It was at times like this she wished she had a little more range-savvy gift, not that she didn't love the one she had, but it was near useless in times like this. "Why does this feel so familiar?" Brailynn muttered under her breath, seeing the first arrow fly and - as he expected, the girl quickly side-stepped out of the way and started running off towards him.

Far less expected was that he seemingly shot off several more arrows at mere random, it took her somewhat longer to react to that. Like before, she'd dodged the next one to come flying after her. The way she moved though sent another arrow flying straight towards her face. Lynn quickly ducked out of the way and held up her fist, the pointed end sent skirting off in a different direction by the metallic back of her gloves. She couldn't react to the last one quickly enough though and stumbled as it stuck awkwardly into the side of her arm. "God..." she gasped. She glanced up as Leo was running backwards and knew she had no time to lose.

The girl quickly snapped the arrow broken at it's hilt and threw it on the ground, quickly breaking into a straight sprint for the boy - hoping she had time to close their distance, but she also knew the close she got, the easier it'd be for that arrow of his to hit her. Oh well, though. She had no other real choice other than hide - and she refused for that to be an option. For a moment, it felt like the wind was pushing her again, if only for a mere moment...

PostSubject: Re: Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman   Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman EmptySat Jun 20, 2015 12:12 pm

A hint of a mile played on the boy's face. He had hit the girl with an arrow. However, he knew that was a small victory to be had. The battle was far from over. A deep frown in place of the small smile and the boy halted for a moment, and aimed a few arrows for the lower section of the girls body. Mostly her torso or legs. Then in acknowledgement that she'd jump over those, he sent another arrow towards her upper body ie, chest, shoulders, and if he got lucky the head. Once he let go of the arrows, he paled, feeling the wind coming at him. That would most likely throw the arrows either off course or slow them down. With a deep breath, he continued keeping his distance, all the while running towards what looked like a shrine.

Leo partly wondered if the illusion created a new religion or 'god' in the scene. If so... the boy may get some advantage with it. He glanced back, and shot one more arrow in hopes of fending her off from the distance.

Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman Empty
PostSubject: Re: Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman   Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman EmptySun Jun 21, 2015 1:21 am

Ah, that's what was so familiar about it, the girl thought to herself in realization as she ran. She'd been in a situation like this before, in the last tournament to be exact. Aside from the arrows of course, she'd been stuck at a distance, dodging disgusting balls of acid, with as much of a disadvantage as she was at now - at first glance anyways. Since then she'd been training nearly every day and she liked to think that she knew better this time around. Would it be enough to win? Hell if she knew... But it'd be enough to put up a decent fight at least.

This guy was smart, Brailynn figured already, predicting her moves. She saw him shoot another arrow and jerked his bow upwards before she could hardly even react to the first one. The girl had to move to the best of her instincts and pray that it worked out better for her this time. She made a quick leap up over the first arrow and quickly aimed her body downwards, breaking into a forward roll and letting the other soar over her head.

The Spring eyed the shrine, seeing that was what he was running to. Was he planning to stop there, she wondered, hoping so. At this rate, she'd hardly ever catch up. She could use her gift, but it'd drain what little energy she had in her and leave her exhausted before she really had the chance to do a thing. She really didn't want it to come to that, but if she must... "What's wrong?" She shouted, taunting with a haughty smile. "Why are you running, Leo?"

Truth be told, this was still absolutely fun for her, and she kept on grinning - side-stepping away from this third arrow and running for him again, pulling her fists up to her chest. He couldn't run forever.

PostSubject: Re: Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman   Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman EmptySun Jun 21, 2015 4:29 am

Why was he running? Well... "To keep my distance from you!" The boy shouted back honestly, before launching a few more arrows toward the girl. It was getting repetative. Knowing if he stopped, he'd have to make double time to restore this distance between them. 'Here goes nothing.' Remembering his last fight, Leo took a deep breath and stopped. Spinning on his heel, the blond knocked an arrow at the girl. Her on coming form gave him a larger target, and when he aimed for the torso, he assumed there was a high chance of hitting. Suddenly a strong wind came from the side. Puffing his cheeks, he moved his arrow so it accounted for the wind.

'Its doing to be a tough shot.' He realized, seeing she was closer than ever. Closing his eyes, the boy channeled the light within him, sending it to the arrow in a grace that it may hit it's target. Blue eyes snapped open and checked the aim once more. Deciding he was ready, he sent the magically enhanced arrow at the girl.

Not checking to see if he hit her or not, Leo slipped his bow over his shoulder and sprinted in a new found pace toward the shrine.

Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman Empty
PostSubject: Re: Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman   Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman EmptySun Jun 21, 2015 12:49 pm

If she hadn't been so focused on chasing him down, she might've laughed at his brutal honesty, even as he aimed a few more arrowed at her. Funny, she thought. She liked this guy. There was no time to get all sentimental about the strange moment, though, not if she didn't want to have to take an arrow to the knee - or something along those lines. Brailynn ducked and danced along the wind as the next few arrows flew straight at her, narrowing her eyes and keeping her sprint up as best as she could. 'I've almost got him.' She thought, her heart racing, harshly reminding herself she couldn't let herself get carried away in the moment - otherwise...

Her eyes widened a bit when her opponent fired his next arrow. This one seemed faster than the others and she hardly had any time to react. She wasn't sure exactly what happened, but it struck her just below the shoulder. The Spring stumbled a bit, landing on her knees. Not only that, she might've been imagining it, but it hurt a lot more than the other for sure. "Ow..." She whispered, seething a bit through her teeth as she grabbed onto the arrow, planning to break it off as she had the first one. She hasn't the chance, though. The arrow disappeared from under her grasp in gentle wisps of yellow, and she'd realized what made this one more powerful than the others.

The wound in her chest was still painfully open and blood was dripping down her arm, but still she stood up again. Lynn even smiled a bit, ripping out the rest of the arrowhead in her arm, tears stringing in her eyes. She wasn't sure how far she'd get in the match now, but she knew for sure that she could at least get a hit or two in before it ended. "Time for a little pay-back." Brailynn told herself, a soft glow of light at her feet. She sprinted off after Leo near thrice as fast, quickly coming up behind him and leaping up, she spun and aimed a sharp kick at the retreating boy's back.

PostSubject: Re: Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman   Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman EmptySun Jun 21, 2015 2:10 pm

The blond boy continued his run, barely even breaking much of a sweat. As he ran, he compared the timing of their footsteps, and noticed hers had begun to move faster. Confused for a moment, he was about to turn around when a foot hit him in the small of his back. With a surprised shout, Leo was sent flying forward. Not letting the girl get ontop of him, he rolled with the impact, finding his footing rather quickly. Luckily for him, the wounds wouldn't transfer over in real life. If it did, he'd be one of those old people with back problems. Because damn! That girl had a strong kick. 'All the more reason to keep his distance.' However at that moment, an idea dawned on Leo. With a quick glance toward the shrine which was a few yards away then back at the girl.

'How should I distract her...? Blue eyes looked up at the dark stormy sky. Dark. What had that gift mastery teacher said about his power? Light manipulation? Light! The angle boy held out a hand in a way that one would say stop, or high five. From the palm of his hand, a blinding bright light filled the air, most likely blinding his opponent. In a swift motion, Leo pulled out two arrows and shot it in Brailynn's direction point blank range, having seen her before sending out the light. Using his time, he then turned and rushed for the shrine.

PostSubject: Re: Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman   Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman EmptyMon Jun 22, 2015 12:36 pm

Brailynn was already catching her own footing again and ready to strike the blonde boy when she saw him glance at the sky and hold his palm out, and she froze for an instant. She'd seen this before in the last round, when Keirsta had did the exact same thing to her. There wasn't much else she could to do stop it even still, but while she was forced to be blinded temporarily, she could still use this to her advantage. The light had hit her dead on, and while she could only flinch and protect her eyes, all the while the energy that had hit her skin was being quickly absorbed back into her.

By the time she'd recovered, he was already firing to more arrows straight at her. Instinctively, knowing in her gut even with her gift she couldn't dodge them completely that fast, she raised her arms and hid her face, trying to sidestep feebly out of the way. One arrow stuck into her good arm whilst the other grazed across her cheek, leaving a clean cut. Lynn groaned, ripping out the newest arrowhead and watching him flee for the shrine. Her breathing was heavier and she was starting to feel dizzy, but she still wasn't ready to give up.

"I'm tired of you running." She said, narrowing her hazel eyes. The same light appeared at her feet again and she caught up to the young man. This time, instead of aiming a sharp kick at his back, she practically made a leap at him, trying to tackle him to the ground with a shout and aiming to swing her fists at that pretty face of his.

PostSubject: Re: Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman   Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman EmptyMon Jun 22, 2015 1:32 pm

The moment he saw the girl again, he knew that it was a mistake to send that bright light. The reason why, was because the girl rebounded quickly from his attack. 'Almost there...!' Leo thought desperately, reaching out to touch the shine. Only to be brought to the ground by his opponent's tackle. With a grunt, he spun around to face her, his back on the hard ground of the stage. The first punch he blocked with his left hand, gripping her fist in his own hand, and not letting go. However, he wasn't fast enough to stop the second, and the fist connected with his cheek. Leo cried out when the fist connected with his face, but forced himself to stay focused on regaining the upper hand in the battle, not the pain.

His right hand unsheathed his trench knives and equipped his open hand with the weapon. Clenching his teeth, he sliced at the girl's face, forcing her head back if she wanted to avoid his slice. Remembering his last battle, Leo propped his legs up and pushed the girl off with his hips. Normally, if they were not in battle, the position could be seen as sexual and pretty embarrassing, but at the moment, the angel boy was too set on winning to care.

Left hand now open, he set a hand on the holy shrine. Imediately feeling a connection to the idol. Blue eyes widened in shock. 'What is this?'

PostSubject: Re: Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman   Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman EmptyMon Jun 22, 2015 2:13 pm

The young woman indeed didn't feel like getting another sharp slice across her face, backing her head out of the away and snatching her hand out of his grasp. She'd been preparing to give him another sharp jab to his nose when she felt his hips suddenly buck from underneath her. "U-Uh, hey - what - wait!" Brailynn was thrown off balance and back unto the floor, scrambling to find her feet again with a newly acquired blush across her cheeks. By the time she was ready to run at him again, he was touching the old stone structure, seemingly thrown off his guard.

'What are you doing?' she wondered, but she wasn't about to stick around and ask. Lynn narrowed her eyes, wisps of energy appearing at her fist, ready to enhance the punch she was about to throw - and shatter a few bones if she were lucky. The girl leaping off her feet in an instant, aiming her fist at his torso.

Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman Empty
PostSubject: Re: Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman   Round 2: Brailynn Moore vs. Leo Herman EmptyMon Jun 22, 2015 5:07 pm

Leo almost didn’t see the powered punch come at him, as he was too busy marveling at the stone object that was fueling him with what he came to know as Holy Powers. ’Nice!’ he thought to himself in excitement. He heard footsteps, then blue eyes flickered over to the girl, and her approaching fist. Thinking fast, he stopped her own fist with his own. Instead of normal had, which would have shattered, a hue of yellow floated around his hand, similar to Leo’s opponent. The two hands collided, even in power. Well, almost. Leo could feel her hand push farther than his own. In a desperate attempt to get out of the fist pump lock, he leaped into the air pushing her hand down, and white wings sprouted from his back. Surprisingly, they were longer and stronger than usual, which Leo attributed to the shrine. Increased power perhaps? Once he was even slightly in the air, a strong gust of air sent him over the other blonde’s head and thrown back to where they began their fight.

Not used to the large wings, Leo fell awkwardly on his ankle. Pain shot up the side of his leg. With a cry of pain, the wings disappeared, and Leo kneeled on his good foot. Blue eyes studied the ankle, knowing he would have a fair amount of time before the girl arrived. The right side of his right leg was already swelling, and a bit of a bruise began to form. He did something to the muscle, he realized. Had he sprained it? Lips pressed together in an attempt to push away the pain. There were other students who had fared much worse than he. Heck! He hit Brailynn with multiple arrows. She’d most likely be in more pain than his ankle.

Grunting, he stood, careful not to put too much weight on it, and put on a calm face. He couldn’t let her see his pain. Head even, he docked another arrow, set on the form of his blond opponent.
