Things happened, and someone is not happy

Destiny had spent a few day's alone in her dorm, replaying the fight in her head. She didn't really leave and due to her power the need to eat wasn't all that great. Though a couple times a her skeleton went out and to grab her so food which usually freaked some people out sometimes. Even though the skeleton couldn't really talk, it still lectured her somehow.

Today the skeleton had woken her up, and tapped it's foot, and then pointed at the door. When she didn't budge the skeleton kept poking her. For some reason she couldn't send him away. Maybe that was his will over hers. He also had a bit of her powers to seeing how he had been her first summon when she was younger. Finally he had managed to pull her off the bed, and into the bathroom. At that point she finally listened, and got freshened up before she walked out the door with her skeleton in tow. Well he followed her.

With a heavy sigh, she knocked on the door, her skeleton stood behind her leaning on her shoulder expecting to scare anyone who answered the door unless it was Brant. Destiny knew that Brant had more active dormmates this time around than last year, and hoped that whoever answered the door, didn't freak out about their relationship, or the skeleton, or the fact that Destiny honestly looked kinda dead at the moment.

Inari was lying on the couch, reading a rather large book. Her eyes scanned down the pages as she kicked her feet, pausing to flip the page every once in a while. Then there was a knocking at the door. Her ears perked as she glanced away from her book before sitting upright. She didn't move, seeing if any one of her other roommates - she knew at least Brant was still here - was going to get the door. When no motion was made, she sighed softly as she she stood up. She stepped over to the door before opening it up. Her eyes blinked as she looked at Destiny, a slight confused look appearing on her face before it suddenly brighten up. "Oh! I know you!" she said happily, paying no mind to the skeleton. "You're Destiny Williams! What brings you here?"

A frown remained on her face as a girl whom she had never seen before answered the door. Apparently she knew her. "I need to see Brant, and who are you?" She asked in a monotone. She was curious to know who the girl was. She figured she was apart of this dorm, but it was nice to know who someone was if they knew you. Destiny shifted in her position before letting out another sigh. The skeleton looked a bit disappointed that the girl didn't freak out at the site of him.

A sly smile appeared on her face as she leaned forward. "Oh, need Brant do you? Well, I'll go get him!" She turned to head toward Brant's door, before pausing and glancing over her shoulder with a warm smile. "I'm Inari!" she hummed happily, before heading the rest of the way to the door before knocking. "Braaaannnttt!" she sang in a sing-song voice. "Destiny is here to see you!"

Brant had been lying on his bed, staring at a content Kindle. The flame-point ragdoll was curled in a happy circle on his stomach so while he had heard the door knock, he hadn't felt like getting up as he knew Inari had been on the couch reading her book. He liked her, he really did, but he wasn't sure why she was spending her time reading the dictionary. His eyes flickered up however when Inari knocked on his door and mentioned Destiny. He raised his head a little, blinking. What was she doing here?

He had been wanting to talk to her for the last few days but since her lost in the first round...He thought it was good to give her some room as he knew she had been hoping for a rematch with Hosa Corvina. He picked up Kindle from his stomach, gaining a soft meow from the cat but no fighting as he set her next to him and sat upright. Kindle quickly moved in to rub her head against him, letting out another meow causing Brant to sigh as he picked up the cat once more as he stood up and headed toward the door. Kindle happily remained in his arms, being almost limp in them as she purred in joy.

Inari took a step back away from the door as Brant opened up the door, and the fox-eared girl quickly dove forward to pet Kindle like there was no tomorrow causing more purrs to rise from the happy cat. Even as Brant moved forward toward the door, the young girl followed in suit to keep petting the ragdoll.

Brant paused at the entrance of the dorm as he stared at Destiny, slightly taken aback by the skeleton next to her but quickly recovered as he wasn't all that surprised to see it. "Hey..." he said, leaning on the door frame as Inari cooed over the cat in his arms. "Sorry I didn't come and see you sooner...I just figured you might of wanted time alone."

Destiny's urge to hug Brant grew when she saw him, but he had Kindle in his arms, and Inari was petting her and Destiny didn't really want to squish Kindle nor Inari's arms. "Don't question the skeleton, he wouldn't go away, and he was concerned. He was the one who made sure I ate." She said glancing back to the skeleton, who looked a little happy that he freaked someone out kinda.. "I.. uh.. Can I come in? I... really need to talk to you.." She said in a bit of a depressed tone now that she was talking to Brant.

Brant nodded slightly, glancing at the skeleton as Destiny talked. His attention was pulled back to her as she asked to come in, before nodding. "Of course," he said before taking a step backwards and glancing at Inari who was still fussing over Kindle like always - at least the cat seemed to be enjoying all of the attention. "Inari, I'm afraid Kindle is coming back to my room with me and Destiny so petting time is over."

Inari's fox-ears flickered back for a second, before she nodded as she put on a smile. "Oh- alright!" she said, before pausing as she stared up at the much older boy. "Can I play with Kindle later then?" she asked, her tail swishing. When Brant nodded, she let out a happy squee before turning and headed back to the couch to return to her dictionary reading.

Brant motioned for Destiny to follow and to shut the door behind her as he headed into his room, which had barely changed since she had last been in here last year - although there was a few more toys for Kindle that laid around the place and a few more drawings on the wall. Making his way to his bed, he set Kindle down who respond by heading toward the head of the bed and curled up on a pillow, watching Destiny with glimmering blue eyes. Brant sat down, staring at Destiny as he patted the empty part of the bed next to him. "So, what did you want to talk about?"

Destiny avoided eye contact with the two other people, and followed Brant back to his room. The skeleton had followed as well, but didn't seem to be paying attention to the two people. Destiny had been upset about the whole thing instead of angry. While she was angry at first that she had lost she soon became depressed that she lost to a student who was newer than her. She thought she had a good grip on her powers and could win a fight like that easily but that didn't happen. Once Brant finally put kindle down the first thing Destiny did was hug Brant, and let out a shakey breath. The skeleton couldn't help but look a little concerned for his master, but he knew that she was trying to fix her situation.

Brant blinked in surprise when Destiny wrapped him in a hug. He didn't do anything for a moment before he silently reached out and wrapped his arms around her as well. It didn't take a big guess to figure out why she was upset - he knew that a lost like that...It had to be hard on her. But, just to make things a little easy, he let out a sigh as he pulled back slightly and gripped her shoulders with his hands. "Do you want to tell me what's bugging you?" he asked in a soft tone as he stared at her.

Kindle also seemed to be uneasy by Destiny's reaction, getting up from the pillow and trotting over to the two of them. She let out a sad long meow, rubbing her head against Destiny's side as she titled her head to look up at the necromancer as her tail flickered.

Destiny looked away from Brant for the moment, "I lost... I lost to someone who is newer than me.... My power wasn't good enough.. I wasn't good enough... I worked so hard in my training... I'm not good enough..." She said in a soft one to Brant keeping her eyes away from him. She felt ashamed. What would her dad think? He was always the best in his business, why couldn't she do the same here?

The skeleton knew exactly what was going on. He could kind of hear Destiny's thoughts. The skeleton had noticed the cat was trying to help, but he was afraid the cat would on get on Destiny's nerves. Carefully he picked up the cat, and started petting it. The skeleton had sat on the ground the placed the cat down. After doing so using some of his own powers, he made a soul of a bird appear to hopefully distract the cat.

Kindle had let out a small squeak when she was picked up by the skeleton, but had quickly went limp in hisi arms as she glanced over her shoulder at him. A purr arose from the ragdoll as the skeleton started to pet her, her tail flicking happily before being put on the ground. She paced around the skeleton before taking notice of the soul of the bird, and in a second her instincts kicked in. She dropped to the ground, her tail lashing back and forth as she stared at it but either she realized that something was wrong about the bird or just didn't want to hunt it as she remained at the skeleton's side, just staring at the bird's soul with an interested look.

Brant had glanced off to the side to watch the skeleton pick up his cat, but returned her gaze to Destiny as she finished talking and pulled her back into a hug. "You're amazing, Destiny, and don't think otherwise. It was just bad luck that you lost like you did. You did almost get him! I watched the battle and cheered for you the whole time...I am sure if you were against anybody else you would of won." He didn't blame Destiny for thinking what she did however. Dylan had been newer than her and he thought for sure that Destiny shouldn't have had lost the duel. It had been down to a wire and she had lost by a hair. "All he did was run and hide; I am sure if he hadn't done that then you would of won for sure."

Destiny didn't respond for a bit to what Brant said. She had thought about but it didn't really make her feel better. Her opponent was a bit of a coward. He never really fought her. Then he had to pull a cheatsy move at the end which caused Destiny to respond by taking his life force. She thought she had been a faster than that stupid dome. She honestly could have escaped but she felt like she could have drained his life-force first, but it didn't really work.. She tightened her grip on the back of Brant's shirt. She never had felt so weak in her life to lose like that. Hosa put up more of a fight than Dylan had. Hosa had won fair and square. She couldn't help but think otherwise.

Feeling Destiny tighten her grip on his shirt, he didn't say anything as he hugged her as he was left unsure what to say. He didn't want to guess what was running though her head, so he decided just to wait until she said anything for him to respond too. Instead, his mind started to try to form ideas of any ways he could make her feel better. He supposed they could always go out for cake but...He wasn't sure if Destiny was in the mood for going out to Rosebury for now. He just wished he knew any way to make her feel better.

Another sigh had left Destiny as they sat in silence. She didn't really know what to say. The hug felt nice. It was definitely what she had needed, and it was what she had been wanting for a couple days, but she didn't really feel like facing Brant. "I can't help it..." She stated to her boyfriend. "I can't help but feeling this way..." She didn't want to let go of Brant anytime soon.

"I don't blame you," he whispered softly as he sat there, happily accepting being in her embrace as they sat on the edge of his bed. He really wished he could offer more then just hugging at the moment, but it was a good way to let her know that he was going to be here for her. "I really don't blame you for feeling that way. I can't say I was bitter about losing to you last year but..." He paused, a soft smile appearing on his face. "Do you remember what you told me in the cafe at Rosebury? You said that even if you didn't win, you would at least have fun. Now tell me that you at least had some sort of fun in that fight at some point, cause if so then I call it a win for you."

"I had fun when I was winning..." She stated to him bluntly. She didn't know that he felt bitter when he lost to her, but she ended up saying sorry for winning. She didn't expect to win at all last year, but something even better came out of that fight. She had fun all the way through the fight with Hosa cause Hosa was actually putting up a fight, and didn't run away. "That coward ran until he could pull of a cheap shot...." She grumbled to him.
